About Open Box
Open Box is a tool for organizing change. Whether a union, a network, or a community group, Open Box provides a notification platform and coordination system tailored for women who organize and attend trainings, workshops, peer support, and other events related to women's empowerment, education about rights and laws, and/or response services and support. Key features allow organizers to get their message out and empower women to share event notices, confirm attendance for events, access network analytics, and a get updated information through a newsfeed in a secured space.
Open Box was ideated by Ms. Tephalin Ou who was awarded the VXW Award in 2015.
In partnership with The Asia Foundation, the United Kingdom’s Department for International Development-funded VXW Award empowers activists to help change the pattern of abuse and provide a way to mitigate, protect, or respond to violence against women through technology.
Ms. Ou is an active member of the Food and Service Sector Workers Union in Cambodia and is committed to advancing the rights of women both in the workplace and in Cambodian society.
