About Ooma

Ooma’s mobile app takes your award-winning home phone service even further. With this app, you can make calls from your Ooma phone number, receive calls when you’re away from home, check your Ooma voicemail, and more. Purchase the beautiful Ooma Telo at your favorite retailer or at Ooma.com.

Getting started with the app:

1. Login with your Ooma phone number and password. Please note that the app works with the primary number on your Ooma account, not additional numbers. If you have forgotten your password, you can reset it by visiting My Ooma.

2. Make unlimited domestic calls without using your cellular plan minutes. The Ooma application makes calls using the Internet, also known as Voice Over IP (VoIP). Make sure that you have a strong Internet connection, either Wi-Fi or 3G/4G, to ensure the highest voice quality.

3. Make international calls for low rates. Visit My Ooma to purchase international calling credits or to sign up for the Ooma World calling plan which includes unlimited calls to more than 60 countries.

4. Dial numbers in your phone's contact list or set up a list of Favorites for quick access from the Ooma app.

5. Get alerts for new voicemail and listen to them conveniently on your phone. You can delete messages or file them into folders, all from the app.

6. View your call history, manage your privacy settings, and more.

The Ooma app works with Android devices running 4.4 and higher.

Be aware that some mobile network operators prohibit or restrict the use of VoIP over their network or impose additional fees and/or charges when using VoIP over their network. By using Ooma Mobile over 3G/4G/LTE, you agree to familiarize yourself with and abide by any restrictions your cellular carrier imposes and agree that Ooma will not be held liable for any charges, fees or liability imposed by your carrier for using Ooma Mobile over their 3G/4G/LTE network.

App is improving but still has issues. CallerID name still does not show for incoming calls but does if they leave a voicemail. Miss the ooma icon in the notification area. Call quality is good. Would like to be able to access my 2nd line from the app. One additional issue. I pay for premium will name/number callerid. it still not not show the name calling through the app.

In general I like my Ooma service but I haven't been able to make calls with the app for a while now. I tried reaching support via email and got a response that didn't address my concern but did pitch a new add-on. I've used this service for years so that w a s disappointing.

I have been using Ooma for two years now with little or no issues. Early on the home phone attached to their device would not record messages but that problem has not occurred for over a year. I rarely use my home phone any more and prefer my mobile phone with the Ooma app. As long as I have a wifi or a data connection it works as well as my mobile phone's regular service including being able to look at my call history and messages.

Crashes every time I try to log in. Wiped my phone entirely. Did not fix the issue. I'm on lastest LineageOS14.1 using a Oneplus 2. Edit: No more crash since version 6.0, still can't log in. Stuck in a infinite "logging in" loop.

This app would be an awesome supplement to my OOMA service if it simply delivered clear signals. However connections are crackly and distorted even on an otherwise stable wi fi connection and unless within 1 room of the router you get bad Network conditions detected. Similar behavior happens on mobile data too. Alternatively Google Hangouts with Google Voice connects clear in comparison. I wish OOMA could duplicate that.

Being in the military I don't always have cell phone service overseas. Wi-fi hotspots are plenty and the Ooma app has been reliable for me keep g in touch with my family. Thumbs up for me!

Just installed this today. Out going calls only are free. You have to pay to receive incoming calls. After paying nearly 300.00 for the base back when I bought this I would think incoming calls would also be free. As to paying for incoming calls. It is almost 20.00 a month, that's for VoIP service. I know at least two services I can get unlimited talk and text over cell on a smartphone for that price. Yes these days there are a few services that will do that. Ooma should be charging no more than 5.00 a month for basic VoIP to remain competitive, and if someone forked out hundreds for their box, they shouldn't be getting charged at all. After I have used the app on a few devices and have a feel for it I will come back and update the rating.

Weird service!!! Other guy can't hear my voice. Customer service said delete the app and install again but same thing. Ending my service now

Can not send or receive calls. Total waste. Do not get this app for Android. I could not use it at all. If I could give it a zero rating, I would. Complete junk.

UPDATE: 9/26/17 - The latest update is an improvement, however, the interface is still confusing and unintuitive. I'm just not sure what do do on various screens and there are symbols I don't understand such as downward red arrows. Worse, when you find the Help Section (buried in the preferences(!?), the only help offered is Report Issue, Contact Support, or Send Logs. Not a very helpful Help Section. I've added one star from my original 2-star review to account for the latest update no long showing the app running in the notification curtain. But the app still has some work to be user-friendly. ORIGINAL REVIEW - Frustrating and non-intuitive interface and functions. The fact that if you turn in notifications then a permanent "Ooma app is online" appears permanently on your notification curtain is my biggest disappointment.

Falls FAR short of iOS version! WHY? Once upon a time, I could get caller ID on my Ooma Mobile app. I could also add callers to my blacklists directly from the app. The app also remembered the last tab I had open (Like recents from Home or Voicemails). Now all these features are gone...... Oh wait, most of that was on the version of the app written by the Apple apps development team. Except for the remembering last tab (that is a recent change in the Android version) WHY would the Android version be SO far lacking in features? WHY is it going backwards? Please have the Android team use the iOS version and get up to speed. This version is embarrassing....

Revised rating up since the redesign in version 6.0, which fixed the crashing and battery problems it exhibited on my Nexus 6p. Works fine now.

It works most if time but crashes a lot. Also, multiple profiles would be nice.

Please remove the persistent "Ooma app is online" notification. Or at least make it optional, particularity when the app is in outgoing calls only mode.
