Athabasca University Students

Generally love the access to courses and the student feed, but there are a few bugs. The study timer is an AWESOME feature for independent study, but if you study for more than an hour at a time, the recorded time resets to 00:00 min. Also, it sometimes shuts off spontaneously, sometimes when you're using another app on the phone/tablet and sometimes without it being touched. Would also be nice to have a log or something to check your replies & replies to your comments, etc.

Would be great to access a complete list of my activity (original posts, replies, likes) so I can keep up with interactions. Not sure the "my courses" part is very functional/useful for online students. Good way to connect with other AU students.

It seems like a decent app. I haven't had any use for it, but everything functions well.

Not anything to write home about. But it is nice for making you feel more connected with other students.

No way to see grades or coursework. No update log so when app updates don't know if it's a bug fix or new feature. Building a fixed study schedule has little advantage for correspondence education. Overall, useless app.

Nice little app. I love that I can stay connected with other students. App needs a bit of work still but it's getting there!

This app makes me feel less isolated since I started using it. I can communicate with other students' questions. The lack of explaination about the groups section of the app is problematic. It has been notifying me of unfinished business for weeks without any clear direction on how to turn it off.

It won't work when I try to add classes or join groups, but it's great connecting with other students.

I've downloaded this application as it's a means of communication with other students at AU and I've tried to like it. I've deleted it for the 5th time and closed my account this time for good. While there is nothing wrong with the application (it dose what it's supposed to, no bugs, doesn't crash, etc.) I dislike that I'm forced to use a mobile application to communicate with other students. I avoid lengthy discussions as it's tedious to type on a mobile device. An online forum would be much better for students to communicate. I'd give this application 5 stars if it was an optional application in addition to an online forum. However, an application is supposed to be designed for convenience and ease of use. This is a poor choice of platform for students communication. It hinders students ability to communicate efficiently and effectively.

It's nice to connect with students since I'm a distance education student. This allows me to feel like I'm part of the school community. I also like that you can 'friend' students and make study groups.

I used this app all the time successfully but suddenly today it tells me that this version is no longer possible to use and I need to update it. However, no updated version is available. Needs lot of minor and obvious corrections.

Just downloaded it and it won't open. The app states that it is an outdated version, no longer supported, despite that there is no update on the play store.

App is now fixed and works great!

It was fixed so 5 stars as promised! Great communication app.

Just tried to open it to have the application tell me that I'm using an older version and that it isn't supported thus I can't use it until it's updated. Only issue is that it was just updated yesterday and there isn't another update to complete so application is currently unusable

Great app and the support is very helpful. I had an issue and they found the problem quickly and a fix for it. Very nice!

Calendar and to do list need to be better made, actually able to view a whole month or to do list. Cant add classes or program. Only thing that's somewhat useful is that message board with other students.

Needs some work . Adding courses and programs should be easier . You shouldn't need to add a time to ads a course because some people don't add their courses into specific time slots . you should get notifications of every group just your classes. Once enough people are using this app it will be annoying to get notifications of every single post on all the boards .

Great app!

Students are active for 1 week then stop using it. Bring back the ausu forums....impossible to stimulate course conversation because of limited user base.

Bad app design....

it won't let me add class or even start a timer..I look up my Course and I find it but I can't get a schedule started or the timer. the screen just flashes and nothing else happens. I would love it if gets fixed ASAP.

App is great for finding help in classes a meeting new friends. It helps AU feel less isolating. Has a few glitches, but hopefully those will get better with time

It simply doesn't work. I try to "Start study timer" and the screen flashes momentarily and then nothing. I try to change the icon of the course and it flashes and returns to default. There is no way to add classes to "My Classes" it seems. What it does do if I let it is send a whole bunch of meaningless to me messages that cause my phone to beep endlessly. I had to disable this so I can keep in touch with my office and my meaningful discussions on other apps. Edited to add: OK, I finally (with help) found a way to add classes. However, that does me no good. The schedule is fake because there are no in-person classes at AU. And I can only focus on class discussions if I also agree to accept notifications for all of the general messages which makes that too intrusive. It also took coaching to find out where the class discussions go (it's not intuitive). This app might be great for a B&M institution where you live and die by a daily timetable. For distance courses, not so much.
