Why we’re so passionate about 24-bit?
Our team care about music just as much as you do and know how important it is to hear music, just as the artist intended it to be heard. Professional recording studios operate at 24-bit, as this allows sound engineers to capture the recorded sound without the introduction of digital "clipping" (distortion) on loud sounds, due to the increased "headroom" allowed by the low noise floor of 24-bit audio. Low-level digital noise is also absent from 24-bit audio for the same reason.
During the CD mastering process (the final stage before audio is written to a CD), the original 24-bit master recording is converted to 16-bit audio. This reduces the dynamic range of the recording, meaning that all the added benefits of 24-bit audio are effectively lost.
If you would like to listen to music as intended by the artist and producer, we strongly recommend choosing Hi-Res 24-bit files, where available.

Terrible. Couldn't download all purchased tracks from the album. Then app wouldn't recognise my email log in, even though receipt had been sent to that very email. Customer service shocking. Still no resolution 48hrs later

I am a FiiO X 7 user, FW 2.0, and installed this app specifically to try out MQA sound quality. It played the MQA with a very nice sound, 24 bits and 44.1. FLAC 16 bit and 44.1 played. However, when playing a 24 bit 96 kHz it sputtered and failed. As the read more explained; operation of this application is not guaranteed for all devices. Merci / Max

App seems to work just fine and music is like nothing i heard before. Never going back to lossy mp3 or acc. Feels like you at the studio or concert if listening with the appropriate hi res player. Im using onkyo dpx1

I noticed static noises every time I sampled a music track. I'm using the dp-x1 and my own music tracks on my SD card play perfectly fine. This only happens on third party apps like this one, YouTube, and Spotify. I wonder if my unit is defective or if it just needs an update.

I managed to download 1 album by constantly closing and reopening the app but I've done this 9 times already and my. Second album won't progress further. Very annoying

Two major problems: 1. I tried this app in Onkyo DP-X1 and there is a lot of noise when playing music purchased (and already downloaded) from Onkyo Music; while if I play the same track from Onkyo Music (by browsing the folders) the quality is superb. 2. The download is super unreliable, it downloads just 2 songs and then I have to restart the app to keep downloading songs; my Internet connection is 50Mbps and Wi-Fi signal is excellent.

It is beyond belief how a company such as Onkyo/Pioneer can release such utter non-working garbage as this. This is a serious matter for both the Onkyo and Pioneer DAPs, as native options for direct download of hi def music are more than limited. Whoever's responsible for this should be sacked. Truly pathetic.
