What is the difference between YouRoam and applications like Skype, WhatsApp, Allo,Duo or Viber?
You can call any phone and the other person sees your regular phone number on their caller ID. Also, your friends can call you from any landline or mobile, directly on YOUR PHONE number. Your friends and clients don not ever need to know you are abroad. There is no need for App-to-App calling with YouRoam.
Does YouRoam use my regular minutes?
YouRoam does not use your minutes for outbound calls. If you use it to receive calls by forwarding your phone number to YouRoam, carriers typically deduct the minutes you spend on forwarded calls against your monthly minutes. I have no cell signal at work, so I recently installed this app. The process to setup on my phone was simple and fast. I made a few test calls at home to and from my cell phone. It worked fine until I tried it at work. After forwarding my number, I tried making more test calls. Calls to my cell phone never came through. Calls from my cell phone kept giving me a "You are offline" message. I was online with a strong signal. I emailed them and they suggested I turn off the data on my phone, restart the app and it should work, and make sure I'm not having a firewall issue on the work wifi. The app still wouldn't work. All of my other apps work on that wifi, including Google Voice, so I'd say a firewall isn't the issue. I emailed them the results and asked for more help twice. They didn't respond. Install if you want. It might actually work for you. I wouldn't buy any credits until you know it will.

Professional looking app. Startup and help seem well put together as well. However, it specifically says "allo" and "duo" in the title but I can't find either supported. Also, sorry but it says lowest cost, yet Google does VIOP for free, how can you get lower than that?

1st. I could make calls with good quality b4 I forwarded my number. Now that I forwarded my number. I can't make any more calls and when someone calls me it hangs up when I answere. I tried to remove call waiting but all it does in the app is call my voice mail instead of turning off call forwarding.
