Onavo Extend | Data Savings

Some websites specially governmental website don't open after installing due to security issue, so please have a switch off button for purpose.

This thing took all mi monthly bandwidth in ine night while I was sleeping..... I gave 1 star to this total crap because there is no possibility to put 0 stars......

Onavo compresses data extremely well. It saved 5 megs out of 9 megs shortly after I installed it. This is so much Better than Opera Max ever did. I have an unlimited data plan so I really don't need this app but since it doesn't slow down my Internet usage, I'm going to keep it installed. The only negative is that it used 12% of my cpu during the first day.

Saves me going over my limit saved me a fortune. More recently I don't seem to be able to turn on, it is only reporting older time periods... even after I have uninstalled.

Version 2.0 is worse on battery life than earlier versions. Half a day gone and my new phone is 22% battery while my slightly older phone without this app is at 68% (otherwise they have the same software). Kinda sucks especially since newer phone has larger battery.

Onavo is showing that I've used 75mb and saved 73mb but My Data is showing that onavo consumed over 1GB in less than 6 hrs while I was sleeping (almost half my bundle in 1 night) . Very disappointed . I'm using Nexus 5 on lolipop 5.1.1 and now I'm using marshmallow 6.0

Never had an issue before now. Eating battery life like crazy. Tried to test it again, and can't even select ok.

How come out of my 1gb data plan, android is showing me that onavo consumed 968mb in just a few days?!!!!!!! Now, I can't use my phone for internet for 2 weeks!!

Only saved 12 kb out of 6MB

I used to love this app, but lately it doesn't allow data connection. I have to switch it off just to allow my phone to sync. I have also sent a bug report but the issue remains unresolved. Because of this reason i can't use it anymore.

I absolutely love Onavo extend. My only complaint is that the key occasionally disappears. That being said, I'll definitely continue to use it. Part time savings is far better than none at all!

This used to be a great app but hardly ever works anymore. Mutes my phone when I manually try to start. Doesn't auto start. Crashes too often. Would give 5 stars if you fixed these bugs.

I'm not sure if it even does anything. The key symbol in notifications comes and goes. While loading a webpage, which is largely where I use data as I usually just read articles, the key offten vanishes(meaning Onovo is not doing anything), which is good because when it is there, web pages often won't load. Thinking of deleting Onovo!

The new new update sucks now my app doesn't work and it won't let me open the app. NEEDS NEW UPDATE.

After one day of heavy mobile data use (on Samsung Note 2) this app says I've only consumed 15MB while my default data count says over 500MB

This app may very well do what it says it does ...but...(and its a huge "BUT"..) if you read the entire agreement that you must agree to in order to use it you will find their true intent is to distribute your personal information to third party operatives at their leisure whenever profitable. It clearly states this (along with the fact that this is brought to you by facebook) and once you agree theres no choice for you as to who and where your personal info. is shared. Agree if you wish, but its likely that this will eventually result in the use of more data than this app is able to compress just from the third party emails and advertisements alone. Beyond that its anybodys guess what other inconveniences may be caused..once a third party gets ahold of it they can pass it about with virtually no limits so long as they express their intent (or disclaim/exclaim their disregard for privacy rights) somewhere in small print on some agreement that you dont get to read because you agreed to the one here. It seems to be doing exactly what it claims to do, but where's the actual proof to show im making savings I've just gotta believe that's what is happening!

Marshmallow update has apparently killed and based on last update date program is probably not truly supported anymore

The app shows me that I haven't used any data and that I haven't saved any either. I've used at least 250mb over the past week! The key icon is showing in my notification bar, but nothing else happens. Not too happy about this :-/

It shows way more data saved than I have actually used and saved. Even data from its companion app "count" don't match.

This app used to work fine. A couple of versions ago my ability to view videos in facebook stopped. I got "web page not found" errors. I also couldn't get to certain web pages when not using facebook. I turned off Onavo Count, and my problems went away. I uninstalled OC and reinstalled it, and my problems still occur. Turn it off, and my problems go away. Too bad, I thought it was a useful app until they broke it.

Application works as described and allows me to use much more data from my service provider when im away from Wi-Fi by compressing data before itsn sent and received.

This is great app but I have a problem on my LG G2, Lolipop 5.0.1...everytime I activate VPN it tranfers my sound settings to 'Do Not Disturb' mode...and mutes my notification sounds...except that, app is great!:)

Causes phones to turn on do not disturb when vpn kicks in.

Im using Huawei Honor 4x (CheL04) ,and after installation this app seems dead without any signs. Its there but after turning on,it doesnt seems to have any info on the data use and so , im removing this crap app!

Browsed 2 hrs using fb app. Onavo extend shows used 3 kb and saved 7 kb.. ????

The service keeps turning 3G off,seemingly only letting it back on randomly. I currently have the service disabled and have no issues,so its not the network itself. I use an Android powered phone with Tracfone and have limited data that i must keep adding to,so the concept of a service that reduces data usage is very appealing,if only for it making data usage on my phone impractical and next to impossible while the service is actively running. I have also sent a bug report as well.

Love the app, but please take away or give the option to take away the "beep" that alerts when going in and out of wifi service. Every time I have ear phones or a bluetooth device on the beep blasts out my ears. Please help save my hearing! Thank you!

I see data saved and that is what the app is for. Unfortunately, I am not able to upload photos from my phone to Facebook. Very disappointed by this and regardless of the data saved I might have to uninstall.

Used to have the 4GB data plan from Verizon. Now I have the 1GB. You can see it in the data usage. I used to struggle keeping under my data and now after installing onavo I don't have to constantly monitor what I'm using. And there are times when I forget to turn off 4G. Now the consequences aren't anything near what they used to be. I will definitely be recommending this.

Maybe if u would add a button for us lollipop users to disconnect for MMS that would be great. If that doesn't happen I'm never using this app again

Ended up having to delete because it was not accurately showing me my data usage at all. Says I used a small amount of data, when my settings says I clearly used a lot more. Plus the fact that all my data goes through this app means it's very important for this app to show data usage well, which at this point it doesn't. Disappointed, it worked so well in the past.

This is a great app to have but it blocks certain websites. The websites are only accessible when I disconnect the session. Fix this or provide guidance around it.

When I use this app (which does a great job at saving data) I am able to send and receive picture messages but cannot send normal texts or sms messages unless I disable the VPN.

Works well when it's on but it regularly stops. It should just run without having to manually turn it in after restarts.

Skylar, I know you're trying to sound smart, but your info is incorrect. Compression does exist, it exists in quite a lot of apps you use actually. A VPN handles your data by loading images and web pages in low quality. This is compression. It exists in standalone browsers, and in many apps, to a certain degree. Ever hear of Chrome? It has a data saving compression feature. Onavo is a system-wide compression handler. Please educate yourself before spreading lies.

LG Stylo ~ Does exactly as advertised. The only times that I have failed to save, occur when I switch from WiFi to Data and forget to activate the Key. Thanks to the Key Icon as a reminder. I'm an extreme consumer of data, be it WiFi or Network. I use about 30G a month. *NEW ADDITION!!!* I upgraded my plan to Unlimited 4G, I still give a huge 5!!! It continues to be VALUABLE, in that it appears to my Carrier that I'm NOT abusing my Data usage, thus no intervention from them to slow me down. Get it?!

Droid Turbo 2. Needed to stay on my 1G plan. I installed it. Ran a Google direction, checked FB, email and text. .001 raise. And I checked it with the provider. This is great. And I don't even know I have it!

My data usage on my phone is saying this app is using way more data than what this app is saving me. What's the point if it's going to do that?
