About APPD MTG
The Association of Pediatric Program Directors (APPD) serves pediatric programs by leading the advancement of education to ensure the health and well-being of children. The organization values Leadership, Innovation, Collaboration, Scholarship, and Engagement. Membership in the APPD is through accredited pediatric residency programs and also includes pediatric subspecialty programs. The APPD serves the personal growth and career development of individuals, while providing education and advocacy for program improvement and service to faculty, trainees, and, most importantly, the young patients cared for by pediatricians trained at our member programs.
The organization sponsors two educational conferences each year, one in the spring and another in the fall. Both are open to members and non-members. The APPD Annual Spring Meeting is the larger of the two, providing scholarship through workshops, oral platform presentations and poster presentations. Topics include assessment, curriculum, mentoring, wellness, global health, faculty development, research, and learning technology. The meeting also features energetic and inspirational general sessions, with a variety of networking opportunities.
