PocketBook - PDF, EPUB reader

This app is great although I have a few suggestions which I hope don't fall on deaf ears. 1.There needs to be a help section. There are so many functions but a lot of them are hidden, for example double tapping for auto scroll is amazing. But I found that out accidentally. Similarly there is no info on how to add bookmarks. 2. Auto scroll needs its settings, like default speed. 3.Bookmarks sometimes do not show the green ribbon, even tho it adds it to the book. So you could check on that. Hey, I love your app. I am just trying to help. :)

This used to be the best epub reader. Now I'm not sure. Multiple colors for highlighting, notes easy to add. Adjustable page size and display controls. You can set a custom color scheme. You can export notes, though they'll be in HTML format, so you'll have to open them in a browser, then copy and paste into a document. On the "needs more work" front is the collections feature. You can add books to collections of your choice, say ScFi, Memoir, Fiction, How-To. But I'm stymied on how to get the books into the collection. We need a manual. These are all good. Let us sync with DropBox and you'll be over the top.

The best e-book reading app I found for Android. I have a lot of in the past few months. This was the best to satisfy my needs. It still have issue with rendering non-latin language (Arabic in my case) and would be been if there was an on screen dictionary support. Still aren't that big of an issue. Overall the app is superb. I'm putting it over Moon Reader Pro, ePrestigio, UB Reader, Lithium and Aldiko!!

This is the best e-book reader. I simply love it because of its so many features, neatness and convenient interface. But recently, I have been facing a little problem. In some books the context menu becomes a nuisance. You can neither change the number of items in it nor their order. This happened after the last update, I think. Hope the problem is solved in upcoming update. This aside, I am a big fan of this app and it is my trustable reading companion. Great work. Keep it up ????

Where is the option of rating 5.5? Seriously this is the most perfect ebook reader. Page Flow reading is better than adobe, xodo etc. because it can adjust the pictures also while others can not show images when Page Flow option is activated. If it can add page thumbnails option also which is very handy for checking pictures of the book. Xodo has it that's why i haven't uninstalled xodo even i found the best ebook reader i.e. PocketBook. Edit : I guess you didn't run the enough tests before releasing the latest update. Gets crashed or hanged if i switch to another app and switch back to Pocket Book. Happening every timw when the alarm rings and i snooze or off the alarm. Unistalling. And will install the older stable version.

It's the best reader I came across with. Unfortunately, I found one kittke problem. When I read Pdf files and use the PDF reflow, the words get messed up and stick together. Also, when I customize the margin, the content sometimes get cut in between. Please help! It'll be 5 stars if you can change this.

Pocketbook has come a long way, especially for a free app. Nevertheless it's not perfect. There are minor nuisances that make it difficult to use, such as a progress bar that is not easily accessible, or a text to speech button that is not on the main menu, but on the context menu.

I don't want to give 1 star. I loved the app when I first got my hands on it. But I can't use it at all. It always keeps crashing. I can't even use it for a minute without crashing. I am using RedMI Note 4, but had the same problem on my other phone as well. Please solve the issue.

Its the reader i have been searching for... it took a while to learn how to turn the text to speech on.. hint you have to touch the screen and go to more options (...) then you have to go to settings (looks like a wierd tool) then go to context menu, then turn off the highlight and exit.. then hold down on text and select the speaker... like i said took a while . But its set up and i cant wait to get back to it.

Most wonderful and excellent book reading app. Tanks for developing this app with great user interference and user friendly options provided in it. I can't say in words how it excellently helpful for readings books. Finally I found such amazing app after long time of searching. Thanks again to your developer team.

Still the best reader. Since the addition of a user manual, people should more easily navigate around its many features. I have now solved my synching problems with the help of an app that continually monitors and corrects my phone's time. So, everything is back to normal. In the meantime time, I have been checking out Bookvia as a replacement reader. It doesn't have all the functionality of PB but I wish PB would take some of its inspiration to improve collections, using tags and labels e.g. It also let's you change or add covers and indicates what kind of file your book is. If PB could mimick the extras from Bookvia/Bookari it would be unbeatable.

Whatever you did with the last update has made it almost impossible to use now. I never had one problem with it before and now I am ready to uninstall it. Crashes constantly and many times won't restart until I reboot. You have ruined a perfectly good app!

Smooth and easy to navigate. However it keeps crashing on and off and losing my spot. Another issue I have is not being able to view book summary. I dont know of there is an option for this but it would be helpful.

finally something that has everything.. no margins, night mode, more auto-scroll speeds, fullscreen mode, no glitches while scrolling.. that's it, you won my heart xD

This is a good app for reading books, but what really let's it down is the fact it doesn't scan books from the sd card. I have hundred of EBOOKS and you have to manually open every book before it's added to your library. Even if you add the directory to the app to scan it still doesn't find them if they are on the sd card. With hundreds of books you can imagine how infuriating this is, this issue must be fixed.

Terrible update! Not only user interface got worse but the update also deleted some of my books completely from the drive, and many of my saved bookmarks and processes got deleted! Lots of highlights got removed! Thank you very much for your crappy service!

This is a great eBook reader except for two things: 1. I haven't found any way have it read a book aloud the way some other e-readers do and 2. It seems whenever you click anywhere on a page that has a footnote link it takes you to the link whether you wanted to go there or not. I don't know how many times I've had to start almost from the beginning of a book to get back to where I was simply because I clicked one of those stupid links by mistake. I just tested clicking between two very separated links and it took me to the link anyway. Otherwise great!

I used to really enjoy the PocketReader app, but it has stopped workong on my device. I have sent in a bug report in hoped that it will be fixed. This review will be changed once it happens.

So many bugs! It was working fine some months ago now it doesn't even open. I never give one star to apps this is the 1st one.

Today the application just doesn't work, sending only such msgs "unfortunately, pocketbook has stopped" while I'm trying to refresh books list. It's a pity, I used it for a long time, though I miss "read percentage", it was really nice addition. UPD i cant use backup, all my progress and list of favoutites crashed twice a day... That upset a lot and there's no other way, just changing application as custom support doesnt care..

Like SideBooks, shockingly so, with more customization and without nearly so much lag on those high-def PDFs from the Internet Archive. However the note function is a pale shadow of SideBooks' extremely full featured highlight and note features, and the bookshelf is only file and folders list. I like this app much better, because of the epub support and wide ranging customization, but the surprise at which features were and weren't shared was, well, surprising. Does not support Japanese reading order or setting reading order per book like sidebooks, however (inconvenient)

Quite seriously the best epub and PDF reader I've used except for Bookari. The two things I would love to see is the UI change theme for night viewing, and the cover in the toc/bookmarks/info display invert colours for night theme (or failing that, move the info tab to the end so it goes toc/bookmarks/notes/info)

Is a great app ..now if they'd just add user defined bookshelves and folders, so you can sort your books the way you want them sorted it would get 5 stars

Best Ebook reader out there... The most impressive aspect of this app is the ability to trim the annoying margin of PDFs and use all of your screen.... Plus night mode and customizable colors....

Excellent book reader. However if phone's storage is default to external SD, Pocket Book crashes during initialization.

The default font makes this app resize the document when you reopen it. Switching to noto serif fixed the issue for me but you need ti do the same for each doc.

M impressed with the addition of a voice reader. ..can you pliz add options to repeat current article or to have a playlist suppose I want to play audio of two books ....and also can u pliz add the option to underline certain texts when reading

It is an all inclusive reader (all different extensions) and a big plus is the fact it doesn't have a bunch of advertising nor uncharted just for things like having the book being reader aloud as I am driving! Its easy to use and full of options. The options are also easy to navigate just as the complete UI is!

Has everything i could want in a reader. But it crashes frequently, like it crashes when i delete an epub (both from library and system) from it's menu

It's a beauty. Free of ads and free, that's incredible and especially with functionalities better than Kindle and Google play book. It has features that every book lovers will tweak n use to his needs, must have.

Just switched to this from another app and I am glad that I did. I just use it for reading, not sharing or publishing and whatever else it can do. But as a reader it is simple, attractive and easy to use.

I absolutely love this app and recommend it to anyone who is a prolific reader! It reads the most amount of file types and with the least amount of crazy maneuvering to make it readable. You just open a file and start reading. Do I wish there were even more features? Of course! And I have to say that I like that every time they have updated they have improved (not gone backwards like so many).
