Jenis dan Kode Kemasan

Kemasan makanan, minuman dan hampir semua peralatan rumah tangga dan peralatan dapur kebanyakan berbahan polimer, polimer dalam kehidupan sehari-hari lebih dikenal dengan sebutan plastik. Plastik memiliki beberapa jenis tergantung kepada ujung dari rantai monomer dan kode dalam panah segitiga yang digunakan.

Secara umum ada 7 jenis plastik yang sering kita gunakan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari yaitu polyethilen terephtalat (PET), High Density Poly Ethilen (HDPE), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), Low Density Poly Ethilen (LDPE), polypropilen (PP), polystirena (PS) dan other (7). Kode-kode yang menandakan bahan pembuatan kemasan plastik tersebut dikeluarkan oleh The Society of Plastic Industry pada Tahun 1998 di Amerika Serikat dan kemudian diadopsi oleh lembaga-lembaga pengembangan sistem kode, seperti International Organization for Standarization (ISO).

Tujuan pemberian kode ini adalah untuk memudahkan konsumen mengenali keamanan dan bahaya kemasan plastik. Kode ini biasanya di cetak di bawah kemasan plastik berupa angka (dan huruf) dalam lingkaran segitiga (logo daur ulang), yang biasanya tercantum di bagian bawah kemasan. Plastics have some kind of depends on the end of a chain of monomers and the code in the triangular arrows used.

In general, there are seven types of plastics that we use in our daily lives that is polyethilen terephtalat (PET), High Density Poly Ethilen (HDPE), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), Low Density Poly Ethilen (LDPE), polypropilen (PP), polystirena (PS) and other (7). Codes that indicate the manufacture of plastic packaging materials are issued by The Society of Plastic Industry in 1998 in the USA and later adopted by the institutions of the code system development, such as the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

The purpose of the provision of this code is to enable customers to identify safety and the dangers of plastic packaging. This code is usually printed on the bottom of plastic containers in the form of numbers (and letters) in a triangular loop (the recycling logo), which are usually listed on the bottom of the packaging.
