About Greenify

Featured as Lifehacker's Top 1 Utility in 2013 Best Android Apps (http://goo.gl/1VMwnE), Android Authority's Top 3 Best Root Apps (http://goo.gl/g0L0qZ).

NEW: "Aggressive Doze" and "Doze on the Go" to maximize the battery saving on Android 6+, even without root! (details explained in settings)

Never should your phone or tablet become slower and battery hungrier after lots of apps installed. With Greenify, your device can run almost as smoothly and lastingly as it did the first day you had it!

Greenify help you identify and put the misbehaving apps into hibernation when you are not using them, to stop them from lagging your device and leeching the battery, in a unique way! They can do nothing without explicit launch by you or other apps, while still preserving full functionality when running in foreground, similar to iOS apps!

Please report bugs in the XDA forum (http://goo.gl/ZuLDnE) or G+ community (http://goo.gl/MoszF).

Greenify NEVER EVER collects your personal data despite the capability of accessibility service, it just takes advantage of it to automate things.

IMPORTANT: Greenifying an app implies that you are aware that all the background functionality (service, periodic task, event receiver, alarm, widget update, push message) of this app will become out of service during the hibernation except when you are using this app.

NEVER greenify alarm clock apps, instant messaging apps unless you don't rely on them. Please do verify the impact of greenified apps on which you heavily rely.

Note: Greenify does need a background running service for auto-hibernation to work. It is designed and implemented in extremely lightweight, with an average RAM footprint less than 5M, and nearly zero CPU and battery consumption.

=== PERMISSIONS ===

GET ACCOUNTS & WRITE SYNC SETTINGS: Control the account sync of apps if its sync task is too frequent.
DISABLE YOUR SCREEN LOCK & BIND ACCESSIBILITY SERVICE: For automatic hibernation to work on non-root devices.

App has worked great since install however, with the last update my buttons have switched. Now, when I hold my home button, the hibernate option is on the right instead of the left. Is this an option so i can put it back how it was?

I'd love to see Xposeds features converted to a Magisk module if possible. Xposed has really fallen behind, and Magisk is very well supported.

It doesn't actually stop or hibernate apps. I'll open running services and find all those apps are running but the app says there are no apps that need to hibernate. I've selected all the apps and given the app full permissions. It does very little to nothing.

Best battery saving App that I've ever seen....i want this should be a default App in all phones...

N70%
by N####:

It is a very nice app. But it could be better if one more feature is included which is that it should give some time before hibernating the apps. The problem is that some time screen goes off and we can not immediately turn on the screen and start working because in no time this app start running after the screen goes off. This thing is very irritating to pause for some time before again going to do any task in phone. This problem could be solved by adding one more feature to set the time period of hibernation after turning off the screen. Please if you could solve this problem then this would be the best app for me with no more issues. Thank you.

Edit: HTC One ME dual sim, Stock LP 5.0.2. Can't hibernate automatically on screen off, as there is no "Power button instantly locks" option to be unchecked under Security settings. ***** Does exactly what it says and in the process prolongs battery charge.

The best app for battery + performance improvement. I installed more than 400+ apps in my phone, before using Greenify, my Note 4 hangs a lot but after installing this app with root and xposed enabled, my device run buttery smooth, those games which lagged before now runs high graphics on 60fps. Trust me, if you're the guy who installed lots of apps in their phone than only this app can solve the lagging and battery issue. And please buy the donation package for all features. A must have for rooted and xposed user.

Q70%

I had to install it because my phone is not rooted and it ran very poorly. Despite the warning they give you at install, it makes the phone unreliable when unlocking. Lots of lag. When rooted it runs much better.

N70%

Help me developer!!!! Autohibernation cannot be checked, when I go to select the power button instantly locks menu is in another settings, not the one greenify takes me to (lg g5, nougat). Please correct the syntax according to new settings menu. Due to this i cannot check autohibernation button bcz greenify thinks i did nothing.

Was great but with the latest update my rooted S5 running CM13 now constantly shows a root notification rather than showing it just while the app is shutting things down. Developer has not responded. Please roll back to last update and continue to work on things in Beta. Update - Latest update removed constant root notification so that's a good thing.

Can't get aggressive mode to work. On s7 edge nougat. I've did the adb commands , closed reopened app. When I click aggressive mode I get same messagelike I never did the commands. Please help

N70%

best and must have for every Android phone, makes your phone just as fast as iOS. Also stops any apps from running unnecessary so it saves huge amount of battery. Any Android phone manufacturer put this with their phone instead of bloatware will shine

N70%
by N####:

Good app, but some non-system apps (like Facebook) keep restarting in the background after only a few seconds. It just does not stay hibernated, no matter how many times I press hibernate, it litterally starts up again seconds after, even if I disabled Facebook push notifications and am logged out for hours. It does a good job of hibernating other apps though. If it hibernated Facebook better (which is an extremely heavy, battery consuming app to have running in the background) I would have given it 5 stars.
