Want to know how many bytes were actually used by sharing a photo on Instagram, refreshing the timeline in Facebook, or a full sync of Google Currents? Bytes Insight give you instant observation for short-term network usage, directly on the status-bar!
When network is being actively used, a notification with numerical status-bar indicator will show up and constantly update itself. The indicator will be hidden if network is idle, but you can still find all the statistics in the notification panel.
New version 2.0 brings per-app insights
Besides the overall usage, a new application-level usage statistics is added in verison 2.0! App recently consuming network traffic will be shown directly on the notification. On Android 4.1+, a list of recent traffic consuming apps is included in the expanded notification.

Does what it says but while downloading an app from the playstore it stops counting data for playstore and starts counting for media and while watching YouTube videos it counts data for 'Unkown' app.. That's not what I want..

It shows the data in Kbps which is a good thing to track the data usage... But once a large data been used up it shows ??... From that point it is impossible to track. Please fix it... If the limit of Kbps usage to be shown is used up and hence ?? are being shown symbolically... I would suggest to show the further usage in Kbps/Mbps but data used in Mbps...

App does what it claims in description, it's simple but works great and does not affect device performance... It's essential for me... SUGGESTIONS/REQUESTS:- Better if it can show current network speed,Manage data pack(active data pack, used data,remaining data), Log data usage,... Thank you for providing such a good app for free...

Other than that, I can't open anything(clicking the notification opens the settings menu, as does clicking the app). Sure, it listed how many KB it took to open the Play Store, but that's it, it showed nothing else. It seems altogether a useless waste of space that either needs work or to die a slow, horrible death(the kind all bad apps deserve).

Low on resources & does exactly as claimed. The real time monitoring of data rate/usage on a per app basis I've found very useful & insightful. Mobile ~ Wi-Fi (or both), this reveals the background data Tx/Rx use & rate. It can be at times surprisingly high from some inconspicuous apps. I can then select them, if necessary, to be Greenified & cut off the wakeup paths/hooks triggering the data Tx/Rx. Thank you.
