Good for reading news but too many breaking news notifications that are not significant stories. Seems every article that is published is a notifiable breaking news. Should only be used for key news items

Hard to read the story as the ads are placed over the article text. You miss half the story. The text is tiny, those of us with vision problems need larger font.

Too many notifications when there aren't enough options to restrict them - "push notifications" and "rugby notifications" isn't much of a choice. Please put your users in control.

Close to unusable. Loads, then changes its mind and loads something else, then stops at about ten articles. Turns out most are just tabloid and superficial.

Far too much sponsored content, and often the presentation is quite jerky due to loading content. Sharing content also comes with not just a link to the article, but a stupid shameless plug for the app as well which is so dumb. Bad design anyway, as it plugs the Android app, which is useless for those you're sharing with who have other devices. Just not well thought out.

Breaking news should be breaking. Should not receive 20 notifications a day. Same goes for the banner on the website

Save yourself some time and just read the Daily Mail tabloid. NZ Herald is an embarrassment.

App constantly fails to load articles, leaving it hanging

A lot of photos don't load and when I tap to view an image my phone would crash

The app is very user friendly although I gave 4 stars because the videos often don't play and freeze. Also the level of journalism has really sunk to the bottom of the blog pit. Get rid of the bloggy articles or create a category for them. Feel like I'm reading someone's diary at times

The app works fine. The content on the other hand is rapidly becoming embarrassing. It would appear that simply reporting news is out, replaced instead by tabloid style self constructed sensationalism. Sad. I guess it's all about the $..

I was having problems so reinstalled the Herald app. Now the app will not start and says tap to reload data. When I tap, it says to check the internet connection. The tablet connects to the internet ok so the app is at fault. I have reinstalled the app but the fault remains. I have emailed The NZ Herald but no reply.

Every article I clicked on. Opened a different one. I uninstalled after 3 minutes of use. Terrible app

I'm happy to have advertising. But having to watch a 30 second long advert just to watch a 15 second news clip is going too far.

Terrible app! Whole set up of the pages is weird and app crashes halfway thru an article. Stuff much superior app gonna stick with that and uninstall this app along with their terrible articles.

I would love to be able to clear articles already read and only recall if i want to. annoys me to have to keep looking at articles already read.

App keep crashing so I reinstalled it, now it can't find the internet connection but that may still be an improvement on the previous crashing problem.

When it works it's OK. Unfortunately most of the time it doesn't. It flicks randomly back to the home page, is painfullying slow. Please update and improve!

Good enough app but seriously, when I turn off sport notifications (I sometimes have to record games) it keeps sending me every single sport update! Enough for me to delete the app to be honest if a simple option like this doesn't work...

The team that designed this cr...app should slap themselves with a wet kipper. Bloody awful.

I used to use it a lot but now days I get only 5 articles in each area and weird refreshes where all the articles disappear with another 5 that were not there before.. very strange

Forget for a moment the herald is a rag with poor reporting standards. At least hire some coders that don't drop your ads and photos on top of the text you presumably want to be read.

App no longer refresh or show articles suddenly, stuck on "tap to load", despite notifications continuously updating. Cannot even click on notifications to view articles.

FIRST, I don't want to sign in or create an account. SECOND, there is no multi-tasking when switching apps. Well, sometimes there is. THIRD, push notifications are broken.

I used to like reading the NZ hearld. But now i can't even read the app. It keeps asking about my Internet connection. I'm on Fibre and want load on to my tablet. I have to read all other newspapers. I will miss the hearld. Please make a app that will work. I can read it on my phone.

Slow to boot and to load articles. Video...waste of time. Dumb headlines. Spelling mistakes.

NZH is politically biased. Not a balanced read at all. Disgusting. Uninstalling app and never reading your paper again.

Wow just downloaded last update and installed...trying to open and it says no network....was fine before last update...thanks guys long time user signing off...

Stop asking me to subscribe. Please allow me to change the font size. The default is too small. Fix the video clips. They don't play most of the time,.

guys this app is poorly designed. news items index wrong content. articles are consistently slow to load. The content is often overseas items of little relevance. Murders, poor children stories from Oklahoma, Yorkshire, Texas, WHO CARES... its called the NZ Herald.drains the battery per android notifications - sort this out.

Your notifications are absolutely ridiculous!! Why not just show breaking news? I don't need 20 gossip editorials buzzing my phone every day!! DELETE!!!!!!
