Sky Sports Mobile TV for Android
Picture quality of 360p/420p could be better but over all great app for price. Everyone seems to be having issues with 3rd party (vodafone..) subscriptions or their phones just don't have high enough spec's to support the app. I'd suggest paying directly to sky using the debit card option 6 €/£ a month no contract. Find out if your mobile device supports the app before doing so of course.
Ok, so after months of persevering with my HTC, I decided to get a different phone, a Samsung Note 5. I couldn't use it as I had reached device limit. So I sent an email to Sky asking for device change. No reply except to say my subscription is cancelled the day after they accepted my money. I came here to check and no subscription option available! However my app now works fine, for how long who knows?
Like so many others I've seen on here, I had an account in which everything was going fine with me paying vodafone for the service. Suddenly it stopped working and saying I have no subscriptions. Called vodafone, they said the problem is on sky's end. Called sky, they said if I don't have a sky id (which when you subscribe though vodafone or Google you don't get) they would not be able to help. Ended up on a ping pong queue between vodafone and sky. In the end, I unsubscribed to the service through vodafone
With the latest few updates, this app complains that there is no network coverage, even if I am on Wi-Fi and everything else works fine. You have to disable Wi-Fi temporarily, so you can run the app and get the listing. Start a stream over cellular and then turn Wi-Fi on. From now on streaming over Wi-Fi works fine. Please fix this nuisance. On HTC A9 with Marshmallow.
I get my subscription from Vodafone, but the app doesn't work. It shows a message saying that my device is not authorised to use the app. I have contacted the support and they are aware of the situation but don't fix it. I have asked for an extension of my contract for the time it hasn't worked, but they have refused. Sky living up to my expectations of snow evil soulless company.
Just paid for a new subscription on an existing account and says I have no subscription! Even though says I have! Why have I just wasted my money if it doesn't work?! Subscription has never worked. Not once have I been able to access the app but you have continued to charge me and even now when the app says I don't have a subscription you are STILL CHARGING ME! I've cancelled the subscription now but I suspect this won't do any good. Your app and your customer service are both truly shocking.
Was working pretty well for a long time, now it seems between sky and Google this app is worthless - stuck in the you must subscribe / you are already subscribed loop.
Worked once about 5 weeks ago and since then hasn't got past the TV guide. Also vidafone have started charging me for it when it's supposed to be free. Have to contact them month by month to get fee waived. Pointless app as it doesn't do anything. Samsung galaxy s7.
Using the app itself is OK, but I have two gripes The first, not really a huge issue but the screen can only be oriented one way, it would be handy to rotate and have the screen rotate because if I'm using it with my phone on charge, I have to pull on the charger to have it in. Second, much more annoying, is that I have to turn off my wifi every time I use it to verify my package, then turn it back on before I stream on it. Surely you should be able to save my details and verify my account without me having to turn off the wifi every. Damn. Time
I looked forward to adding this subscription to my mobile plan only for it to not have a casting option. Of which I am surprised-if sky could put a casting option on app I would give it 5 stars.
When it works, it's great. But all too often I get told to check my network coverage when all other apps are working fine; I've tried 4G and Wi-Fi and in those situations neither work. Very disappointing for a paid app. Should be better.
I'm with Vodafone. I subscribe monthly and still paying for something that just doesn't work anymore. Used to be great bit for the last 6 weeks I can't use it. Sending me in circles about how I subscribe. Very very irritating. Fix it soon or lose a customer.
When it works it's superb however it buffers at least 10 times an hour on most programmes. Could argue what do you expect for a fiver but I certainly didn't expect stress. I would rather put the radio on
The thing is, I really want this to work, so I've stuck with it, even though it has broken 3 times resulting in me having to spend half an hour each time on the phone to tech support. I've missed several games as a result. It has now broken again, and my patience has gone. Sorry sky you suck.
App no longer working following app update: After selecting channel and then 'I subscribe to Sky Sports Mobile via Vodafone' it just takes me back to the channel list. Normally the available channels are highlighted but it shows all of them and if I select again it goes back to select how I subscribe. Just keeps going round in circles! Please fix - I've given 5 stars!
Changed device, and can't login now because device limit reached of 1!!?!! Emailed customer services over 3 days ago - no reply. Called customer services technical support who made me uninstall the app and reinstall. No joy so they've escalated the problem and someone will contact me in 72 hours!!! Still not working. Good to know that you lose the service if you change phone and can only have it working on one device - ha, or none. 1 star because 0 aint an option.
Superb value, when you get it working. I had the issue many have had with the subscription loop. Sky resolved promptly once I reported it. Report problems and allow them to resolve before leaving a negative review. Good app.
Great service when it works... but it breaks so often. Recent update now just signs me out and won't let me sign back in. I know customer services can sort it out if I call them but it is so poor. Must me tough being such a small little start up company with such limited resources.
Was working perfectly but since today (1st Jan) doesn't work. Just says " check network coverage". Wanted to watch his the Spurs game buy it won't let me. We are 4-0 at the moment and I'm missing out :(
For such a major brand to not build software that works on an OS rather than the handset/hardware is a joke. If you have it working then don't upgrade your device . I am now paying for a service that I can't use.
Recently it has been updated and now will not work. When I go to update subscription it says I already have subscription, a nd when I go to look at a channel it says I don't have a subscription. I am however, still being charged. This needs to be fixed quickly !
Got a free 6 months subscription with my phone contract. Can't cast it to my telly with Chromecast so I won't be renewing after 6 months. If this is fixed I will rethink and also give this app 5 stars.
Sold actively by Vodafone as part of a mobile package in the knowledge it simply doesn't work; "I can confirm that we are aware of the issue you have reported to us. Our support teams are currently working to resolve this, however we are unable to provide a timescale at the moment." Rubbish.
Worked when first downloaded app but lately every time i have tried to open it , a message comes up with a not able to open. No other app on my phone does this, I'm wasting £4.99 pm on this hoping its just a small flaw. I sent feedback yet nothing back. I know not everyone has problems with this app but most of reviews arent great. From such a massive global company, I would expect more. Only half million downloads of app when the big apps are easily in the millions, sky have alot to do to compete.
Great app (when it work!), however nearly every time I come to use it locks me out telling me device limit reached. I have a dual sim phone so perhaps due to this, but nobody from Sky has made any attempt to try to resolve. They reset my account each time, sometimes after a few hour, sometimes longer - generally I have missed the live match I wanted to see, rendering the App completely useless.
Update... Sky have finally put things right for me after contacting sky help and I'm able to watch it again. I'd advise others to do the same if having issues logging in/not recognising your account when you are already paying for the service.
Don't waste your Vodafone perk, no cast, won't let you use a hdmi to TV 'does not support external devices' then the app itself is crap, picture quality is poor and without headphones you can't hear anything.... Oh and forget using 4g it won't play anything for me
Terrible service which works at 1pm when there are no viewers and doesn't whenever a football game is on. Vodafone subscription? Don't waste your money......
The apps stuck on please check your network coverage. My virgin WiFi is working and my 4g on ee working fine. So why this apps not working. Useless going to unsubscribe.
So....Upgraded to a one plus 3. App is not authorised on my handset. It loads...you can see the channels in the background, but you can't use it.....total pants. Vodafone say it is sky. Sky say it is vodafone....user says...I don't care who it is, sort it out....this is not acceptable......the device is a premium phone using android in the UK....honestly you guys are not doing yourself any favours by not supporting new handsets......
Signed in but won't let me watch as I need to pay £5 a month, I already pay for sky sports for my TV so why on earth should I pay twice for it!? It's my details I log into so it should allow me to watch it. Best example of day light robbery!
This app is terrible. I purchased a sky sports pack and its still not working 2 weeks latter!! I singed up I've got a sky ID I can sign in but still it Say's I haven't got a valid subscription?? I press sports pack's to buy and it Say's you have purchased a sky sports pack But with an error message above via Google play. My bank Say's they've taken the money.I contacted sky via email they replied and I forwarded an email with proff of purchase via Google he replied quickly and said I will pass it on to the right department. And he said he punched my details in but couldn't find me??Anyway I will ring tomorrow and if no proper answer ,I will be contacting the fraud department of my bank to investigate sky and Google
Keep a saying check connection even though I'm on WiFi or have 4g can't even turn it on or get past the home screen waste of time
now after a long time of it not working, it seems to work again, its on an old galaxy s2 and runs fine again. Thankyou. i had to use an old phone as it has the biggest screen, will we ever be allowed to watch it on tablets? or allowed to view through the hdmi?
Great Sports App. Got lots of use from this app which gives great picture and sound quality. Watched a game recently which on its own would cost in excess of this £4.99p. Real good value Sky Sports App.
Rubbish. As others have stated. You pay for a service you either don't receive, or receive with constant problems.
It asks how do you subscribe and once you answer the question, it does nothing. Don't waste your money!
Vodafone customer with sky mobile package on Samsung S7 device. Sign in with ID and password fine. Not possible to view any channels... ongoing for a few months now, fraudulent service.
Was reluctant to take out a subscription due to all the negative reviews but I'm glad I did. Works absolutely perfectly. Premier League football for a fiver a month. Can't go wrong. I am on Three using a Motorola G4.

Great Value for money if you consider how much sky sports is to subscribe to watch on TV. Cannot complain at all for £4.99pm it does exactly what I wanted. Only thing I would say is that you need to add option to watch in HD which I would pay more for to add if needed. Quality vs BT Sport app that adjusts automatically depending on network quality is very poor but still watchable.
