Tour Boston's Freedom Trail for Android
This was a great little app for walking the trail. It even has some information on non-official stops in the trail. Absolutely worth the money. Try and beat a guided tour for under $3. My only complaint was that the list of stop does this rotation thing to orient itself in the correct order you are walking in the trail. While that sounds great it works poorly and constantly flips itself over and over, it was very annoying. I would prefer a manual button to just flip the list.
The app provider says that this app includes "Beautiful HD video footage of each site " and shows a screenshot with a screen sized video image. That is totally false, misleading and likely fraudulent. I installed the app on my Nexus 4 and the video image size is about the size of a small postage stamp (about 200 x 330 pixel resolution!! - HD?? I don't think so!). There is no way to change the video size either. Totally useless videos. I haven't used it yet so the content MAY be ok but forget any thoughts of useful video content. I contacted the company about this but no response. Take the money (under false pretenses) and run.
Not very user friendly, and the screen continually rotates even if screen rotation is off. Needs a ton of work.
Works well
The only problem is that the video size is very small on my samsung s5 phone.
free ap one works better. This screen starts spinning on droids as a safety precaution. Not good for a walking trail ap.
Did not work at all for me, kept crashing. (motorola cliq xt, android 1.5)
Used this app on a short weekend trip to Boston and was thoroughly pleased. Quick, easy to use and informative, I'd most highly recommend it!
An awesome app for an awesome trail. Provided an enormous amount of information on our recent self-guided walk on the Freedom Trail.
Great App! I will be trying it out this weekend when I go to Boston
Great app. Very helpfull for the boston area, very detailed info and videos
Great app for a visit to boston
nice nice app, used it with no problems. the trail & boston was great

Some of the videos and videos wouldn't download, even with 4G access. But most did. It would be nice to have an option to d/l all the audio. (There was an option to d/l all Video AND audio). The audio was more useful b/c you could listen while walking and I didn't want to download a lot on my 4G data plan. Content was fine.
I had a good trail visit. The app was an OK companion. If the audio didn't stop when I changed app, it would've been great.
What's the point in having an app for tourists that you need to be connected to the internet to fully use? Why not just have everything already contained within the app. I ended up paying for a walking tour, this app was a waste of time and money.

It enabled us to go at our own pace, yet we missed nothing. The app gave us all the information a human guide would have told us, but without going round with a crowd. We had the opportunity to visit buildings as we went along the trail.

As a foreign traveller to Boston, I expected this app to function without access to the internet. After reading other reviews, I knew to download media before starting the tour - however I didn't realise that the audio and video just repeated the text shown with each location. The map feature would have been very usual (to help identify which location we were near), however most map tiles failed to display, and using zoom caused the trail location pins to display incorrectly on both devices I used.
For droid incredible works great. Good info and wiki links for even more info
Download doesn't work on its video and audio files
Great little app. On a UK network in Boston, so downloaded all audio and videos by WiFi and set out to complete the trail. Really helped us to understand what we were seeing, find the hidden gems and cheaper than the official tour.
Need louder audio
Poor audio volume, I can not easily find where I am, but Good information.
Great tour
Worked. Well
Not great
Was excellent. You can skip the stuff that doesn't interest you, and concentrate on the good stuff. Good narrations throughout the tour.
Very informative. Worth the money, it costs less that a map of the trail. However, don't rely on gps as the tall buildings tend to block the signal.
This is one of the most incredible apps I've used! Educational, and chock full of our American heritage. A MUST buy! Worth more than 3 bucks.
Great app. Works great as a tour guide. Boston is a loud city so you might need to use headphones to hear the audio. Worth the money to buy this app.
I've never reviewed an app before but had to give this one 5 stars. For $3 you can't beat this. No need for a tour with this app
Great app. The only reason it is not a 5 star is because the map is a little clunky. My location would be nice, full maps search even better.
Worked great. Better deal than $15 from the official FT website. If the tour worked in reverse we'd give it 5. Future rev may do it so check update
Awesome narrated tour of the Freedom Trail. Some places were closed & so we loved having the video clips. Great app (Moto Droid).
Excellent application. Completed the Freedom Trail today with my family. Application was very informative and was a great travel asset to have.
Great app, a steal at $3. Need to reopen it every time I return to it from another screen, but doesn't take long. Galaxy-s.

Nexus 5x running Android 7.1.1 and couldn't use. The trail stops screen just kept spinning as if I was spinning my phone but I wasn't. And when I did manage to tap fast enough to get a trail stop audio to play, it would stop the moment my phone went to sleep. No other app on my phone with audio behaves like that. Wish I could get my money back.
