NVIDIA VR Viewer - Beta for Android
The Ansel samples are without doubt the best 3D effect of VR in the whole mobile VR experience. If only it could also be applied to other VR apps, through an open API perhaps. The IRAY samples make a lot of headache, it's just not viewable.
I was solely interested in trying the samples as I have no suitable PC. It's really high quality and very little lag or image jank when moving. The only two minor points are: it's constantly pestering for access to things like Contacts (bad dev!) and one of the samples has some strange excess texture if you turn off the low pass filter but that's probably the content at fault rather than the app. You can ignore the access requests and stop it asking continually by ticking the option on the dialogs.
The 360 degree pictures look great but it would be even sweeter if there where animations. Something like 20-30 seconds of seeing the world in action, (i.e., flags, water, foliage etc..) moving instead of frozen in time.
is there any zoom in and zoom out option? please add this in the next update othewise awesome application and you guys rocks..
Please give more space for user to load more than 2 local images. Thanks.
would be cool to have this app in the oculus store or gear vr store for better viewing experience.
Spectacular screenshots from Mirror's Edge: Catalyst. Love it.
Pretty much just pictures.
Constantly switching to random pictures without my input
It's like being in a fantasy world........literally!!!!
Only 3 good screen shots
Neat.
I have been using this exclusively to show off stereo 360 images I capture in UE4.13 and now adding Google Photos makes it even better. Suggestions: A repository of "fan favorites" and an option to turn off screen overlays for the calibration line and configuration gear, only to be present when the back arrow is pressed. My NEODiVR uPLAy is so immersive these overlays detract from the experience.
I was able to change the DPI to a lower number in the settings and that fixed it however the app is still awful. Sorry.
Kind of lame and if it's supposed to be cool my only smart device is a shield k1 tablet which needs a vr viewer.
Next time please, do separation between the cameras more and more! Because it's almost flat...
Why do you lie. They are not 3D stereo images. I expected way better from you Nvidia.
Screen regularly goes blank after two seconds
Not that special
Nvidia just jumped three generations. The 360 shots look amazing. You've outdone yourself this time nvidia! The pennies will be saved for a new card !
Hopefully you guys will support video as well and games
Dear developer, when we can produce our own in-game image?
Does that still count?
A must try with your Cardboard.
I've just tested this with the cardboard and it's awesome
Great job!
The ansel section pictures are not 3D. They are 2D 360 images. A great app nonetheless. And maybe I've been spoiled by really awesome 3D on the gearVR and the 3D effect is just small here so I don't notice it, but it really doesn't look 3D to me. Also the images in the other section need IPD adjustment options. It puts strain on my eyes to look at them.
Very user friendly interface. Beautiful flawless graphics and amazing quality. I wouldn't recommend this as a main headset VR, but considering you can use this on your phone anywhere it is unbeatable. Can't wait for more sample pictures!! I can spend my whole day exploring like this!!! I personally wish that there is an option to download more 360 pictures in a future update. Highly recommend.
So cool. My Google cardboard lenses weren't good enough and broke the immersion a bit so I just ordered Samsung's VR off Amazon. Now to wait a few more days...
A great start by NVIDIA, but being tied to the Google Cardboard SDK gives less than optimum performance. NVIDIA should team up with the developer of Holodeck and the upcoming Vrip360 (formally Pitchdeck). I have been beta testing it and he writes low level OpenGL for cubemap viewing at 90 fps (works great with low-persistence turned on with a Samsung phone). Search for Standard3D, Vrip360 will be out soon.
Ansel is going to be a real game changer. It will start with images ... next, we'll be creating 360 interactive videos from our favorite games. I can't wait to make my own.
Fantastically designed, great graphics!
Why must I download the sample images every time the app is opened? Why they are not cached on my device is beyond me...
The Ansel examples are just the same image for both eyes. The objects have no depth. I hope the final tool will create real 360 stereo. Anyway, great tool for the pc gamers.

How can I view local images? Thanks.
Awesome 3D effects and stunning views
Does that still count?
Pretty awesome!!! It's the future of screenshots.

Just enough time to set it up... But not enough to actual play something and see if it is actually suitable? Well I won't be spending 15 euros on something that might make me queasy.. in fairness setup was simple and the vr tutorial from steam worked fine but without having a chance to test it in anger for at least an hour, I'm out
