I just switched from apple to android and was so excited to see this app was available on android. It is my absolute favorite app on my iPhone but the android version is horrible. The camera constantly freezes and there is no white balance reading which is the entire reason I use this app!

X70%
by X####:

I had this app for my iPhone and it worked great. I recently switched to a Samsung Galaxy S7, and bought the same app, and it doesn't work at all. It constantly freezes, and when it does generate a reading, the reading is way off. I have compared the app side-by-side on my Galaxy and on an iPhone while pointing both phones at the same thing, and the values are not even close.

by M####:

As noted in title, this thing is alright in terms of its accuracy, however, it irritates me that for iPhone users the app is free. Whereas us Android users gotta pay. If it were .99¢ on BOTH phones, I'd probably say it's worth it. After all, it's still cheaper than buying a light meter and is good in a pinch.

Q70%
by Q####:

hrm. i like how functional the app is, but does it have some upper bound to the calculations? Didn't change computed result between dark and very dark scenes. Also held GPS lock one time until I realized it and swiped away the activity, lost a lot of battery.

Camera view is freezing galaxy S7 Active. Not sure what the deal is but it's sluggish and freezing. For an app that costs money this is a disappointment

S70%
by S####:

It's still having the freezing problwm where it stops for a second or two and then it works again. Doesn't crash just freezes.

S70%
by S####:

One of the cool features of this app is the log notes that comes in handy when later you want to compere your readings. I have a Samsung s4 and can never find my logs....well once in a while they show up mysteriously. ..

Would be a good app if it didn't keep crashing constantly

I open the app and take a reading, and get very accurate reading. But if I need a second reading, I have to exit out of the app and then reopen.

I have used this light meter for years. Unlike other meters, you get an image & reading on your screen. It is perfect for making critical exposure judgements in difficult lighting, even with polarizers. I use it to shoot Velvia slide film with all my unmetered 1930's cameras! Be aware, Android use can be buggy. This is because the hardware running Android is so different from one another. I keep an old iPod touch in my camera bag to run this app exclusively & it's the best exposure tool I've ever had!

Was apprehensive about trying the app because of the amount of 1 star ratings, but I don't have a Note 4, which seems to be a large chunk of the negative reviews. Works pretty well on the Nexus 5x. Camera is pretty responsive and exposure readings are pretty accurate. It could use a grid function for spot metering, and a color meter would be awesome, but this is advertised as a light meter and it works well for that function.

T70%
by T####:

Camera seems to freeze up on my note 4...it's usable if I hammer the hold button, which causes it to work briefly before freezing up again...but not good for a paid app...

T70%
by T####:

This meter is the only one I'll use even with the Note 4 freezing problem. It's better than the others in that it lets you see a picture of the exposure you would get via the camera on the phone. Please fix freezing problem!!!

On the ios app you have a color meter too. That was the only reason I purchased this app for but unfortunately on the Android platform you haven't incorporated that feature. I'd be highly appreciative if you find it feasible to add the color meter feature to the Android platform too. Thanks.

Not working on my moto x. Set ISO and f number and it won't tell me my exposure time even when I tap continuously. Only does it randomly every now and then without my touch.

I noticed how this app works on apple products, the developer didn't give an F to tweak it for android just dumped it on play store to sell its so bad it freezes and lags and don't work at all what a waste of money.

Has no color temperature readings. I'm using a note 5. Not at all like the iOS version

Had to buy it for a class and it doesn't even work. Crashes and force closes whenever I try to log something and does nothing when I tap for an exposure. Can't complete my class correctly now.

Used it for years on iOS and now on Android. Does the job well. I tried several others but it provides the best all around mix of ease if use and features. I would love an update (it's been 3 years, come on...) to have EV read out now that I use it w/ my Hassie.

...it would be really useful to have an overall EV reading that gives consistent values useful for comparing light setups in different locations, irrespective of ISO/shutter speed/aperture etc. Obviously it's possible to take f-stop readings and lock the shutter/ISO and compare, but this is a hassle, and I can't imagine a simple EV readout in the top of the screen would be difficult to implement? Camera selection (front/back) is also reset when returning from settings screen which is annoying but not a deal breaker. Will happily give 5 stars if these changes are made as the app is stable and seems accurate.

I just purchased this lightmeter app for my Galaxy Note 4, and every time I open this app, it freezes. I'm kind of bummed because this app works great on my iPhone. I want my money back.
