Media MicroCloud

Media MicroCloud is a security toolbox for your Android phone or tablet. It combines secure camera, the IOCipher AES encrypted file system and a Nanohttpd web server. You can record, save and manage encrypted photos and videos. The encrypted file system can not only protect jpg and mp4 files, but any files you want to keep safe and secure. This includes PDF files, PowerPoint, MS Word documents and dozens of other file types. Do you have important files you want to keep encrypted in your pocket? This app is for you.

The popular elFinder and PhotoSlide apps provide secure access to all of your files. A secure MicroCloud web server provides access your files to every browser on your WiFi LAN to authenticated users. This means you can keep an encrypted volume of information on the Android in your pocket, and have access to it from all the computers, tablets, and TVs on work or home network. If you have hotspot capability it works with any device that can connect to your hotspot.

To get started:
1. Launch the app, select camera from the home screen menu and take a couple of photos
2. Select the gallery icon in the lower right corner to see your photos
3. Hit the back button to return the home screen and note the MicroCloud IP address
4. Key the IP address into your browser, bookmark it, note the Finder and Gallery menu options

The elFinder MicroCloud app provides access to a "Crypto" volume in addition to your standard SDCARD volume. Simply copy-paste to sure files to the Crypto volume, download/upload files to your Mac or PC. Try out the ZIP archive features, rotate, crop photos, etc.

It also has a built-in ContentProvider for sending files to other apps without first exporting them to unencrypted storage - so you can upload to some remote server without writing any unencrypted bytes to permanent flash memory, etc.

About security, Media MicroCloud uses a self-signed security certificate. All communications on your LAN are https TLS 1.2 encrypted. Your data is never sent over the Internet, only to your own devices on your own LAN. You will get a warning: Your Connection Is Not Private. Inspect the certificate and confirm it is from Nuvolect LLC. Next Confirm the IP address matches Media MicroCloud (see home screen), and when satisfied advance to the app.
You can save the certificate in your keychain to avoid this message in the future.
