Swype Keyboard

The capitalization gesture has been restored. I've restored the 5 star rating and the old review: Swype allows: capitalization by swyping above the keyboard, adding punctuation by swyping from x, b, and to get ! / ? . Finally, it types all words without censorship, including taboo words. These might seem comparatively minor advantages over Swype's competitors, but it was worth it for me to pay for the app over free stock Android or Swiftkey.

I can't find a better app for typing. The shortcuts are the best, swyping from the Swype key to GM opens Google maps, swiping from Swype key to either a/x/c/v for select all/cut/copy/paste.. I use those the most. wish it was slightly more customizable.. Like allowing for certain keys to be resized... The shortcuts make this app the best I haven't seen another with them at least such useful ones.

Been using this as a loyal PAID customer for many MANY years, from the beta period. I even buy themes. Now it keeps asking me to select swype keyboard every time I want to use it on my galaxy note 8. Been very patient but now I'm at wits end. This has been happening for months. Pissing me off. I'm a programmer and should be an easy fix, get it together. Uninstalling. Using Google keyboard now and love it. Bye ????

Stop updating it several times a day. I have had to re-select the keyboard several times this week and 3 times today. I know you want me to buy themes in your store (that's the last step of the re-selection) but no. I paid for this keyboard already. Make another good app if you want to make more money

Paying for this at 65p was great. Had Slide-it and liked it but this I feel is even better for me than many others. Cannot type manually any more due to the smoothness and efficiency of this app. Love it. I have to laugh at others on their expensive designer models tap tap tapping away.

Stop with the endless pop-ups! I have been using this app for a long time and used to be very happy with it. Now it keeps asking me to selected it as the default keyboard over and over again . Very tedious and annoying , now looking for alternatives

My new Xperia XZ1 has Swiftkey installed, which I hate. I tried installing Swype (which I've used for years) but it just doesn't pop up on WhatsApp or sending a text message, so I had to uninstall it. The Swiftkey keyboard CAN'T be disabled, OR uninstalled from my Sony XZ1 compact and for that reason, I'm selling my phone. TAKE NOTE SONY!

Edit. This used to be 4 stars. I have never typed the word butt before right now. Swype suggests "Butt" whenever I type "but". It doesn't offer plural forms. You have to space, backspace then type an s. Dear Swype. It's English. Do you understand "but" is more common than "Butt"? And why is it always capitalized? Why when I clear my personal data and dictionary are you still offering entire phrases I typed once in an email six months ago? This product is trying so hard to be everything that it's turning into nothing. Back to gboard.

No reaction, no problem, no star. Why why it won't sync and forget words I added or removed?! Would anyone listen to many users? I did understand that learning/predicting are memory hungry functions - that's why it force closes on my low end device - but wouldn't it be possible to adjust?

In Chinese language, when you click into the number column It appear something like 4 row x 4 column It's different from when you use English language. Don't know where you get this idea but it's totally inconvenience to use In fact it's difficult to use Pls change it back to same as English number column

I really like this keyboard. The Swype function works really well and the text prediction is on point. I'd like to see them improve the responsiveness when typing out words instead of swiping. The dashboard could also use some work. Being able to remove the swipe key in the lower left corner would be nice. Lastly, being able to resize the keyboard is a must. Much too small right now. Edit: The Swype store key has got to go. It's nothing but a nuisance and takes away keyboard space that the space bar could use. The only other thing holding this keyboard back is the lack of some key features. Ex. Swiping the spacebar to move the cursor position & swiping from the delete key to delete entire words.

1. Next-word predictions for English and Vietnamese are really bad. Only have 3 words for Next-word predictions BUT the predictions are not PREDICT any good. 2. Need to have an option for Emoji Search like Gboard. 3. I bought this keyboard because It was once the best. Now I have to switch to ABC TouchPal keyboard, or Gboard, or ASUS keyboard. Sad to see Swype goes down. Please, fix this keyboard CORRECTLY and I will come back with ***** star rate, Thank You.

This app is great until it mysteriously isn't. Right now, I'm hunting/pecking because the dictionary has turned from English to Dutch. I'm having to save every word to the dictionary. This will last days or weeks. Until the next update. And, typical of most Millennial business models, there is no customer service because they've never experienced it and its about the business, not the customer.

In Messaging app if you tap built-in emoji icon, it doesn't open emoji drawer unless keyboard is open. If keyboard is closed, Swype screen pops up asking to select keyboard. Fix please! No reason to open keyboard just to send emoji in reply. Other suggestions - make the secondary keyboard and number row available in smaller than 100% keyboard size and on ALL themes.

The last few updates patched some of the most glaring issues but it's still an inferior version of its older self at least in terms of stability. Upped to 3 stars but am one step from switching to something else.

I once reviewed this keyboard with only 4 stars but now it has 5. Thanks for the emojis! They are under the "done" or enter button. Best predictive keyboard out there. NOW WITH ????????????⚾???????????????????????????? Ok. Now I'm sad again. I absolutely HATE the emoji bar in Swype. It takes up half my screen! I may actually uninstall - which makes me sad because it is still the best predictive keyboard. ????

Used to think this app was great - even bought the full version. But I've now had to revert to my default keyboard because I can't use it after the latest update! GET RID OF THAT STUPID SPLASH SCREEN!! Every update I have to swipe right in order to continue using Swype but IT DOESN'T WORK! IT'S NON-RESPONSIVE!! Leaving me unable to use it! This is the final straw after the predictive text becoming steadily worse, I'm now looking for a replacement app. Very unhappy.

I have used Swype for years (& even purchased the paid version & themes) with no complaint, but now just recently I am CONSTANTLY having to confirm that yes, it IS the keyboard I want to use, before I can do anything. It's getting to the point I've just gone back to using the Samsung keyboard just to avoid having to deal with the constant verification process ***EDIT After contacting Nuance, it appears the issue has been resolved. Will update if not. I'm back to my favorite keyboard! (In a pinch, Swiftkey was a suitable substitute)

I hate this keyboard more and more. Try swyping "people". Get poodle and purple as results, and other random suggestions, everything BUT people. The dictionary is even worse, I spend a lot of time deleting words like "priori" that come up before "priority."

Best swipe keyboard so far for English, simplified, & traditional Chinese. I switch between these three languages for numerous times a day, swiping input saves my life and uncountable time spent on clicking away in other keyboards ! Definitely worth the price!

Would be great! I can't get to the settings quickly. It loves taking me to the theme store...also why can't I get rid of the emotion junk? I don't like it showing up.

RIP Swype. Used to be one of the best, but apparently development is next to none now. Basic bugs still aren't fixed. Gboard has picked up where Swype has left off.

I got Swype years ago and I loved it. Swipe Up to Capitalise is finally back, YES! Finally a number row option...Yes...? No...! Doesn't keep secondary characters except on 100% height keyboard which is stupidly tall and despite there being plenty of room on an 80% high board. Why is it necessary to resync each and every time you issue a new version!?!

I've loved this app for years, but your update from a few hours ago broke it completely. Can't swipe screen to the right to accept Swype terms, and can't exit the agreement screen because it keeps popping up immediately again when you confirm to exit.

In Chinese keyboard mode, the continuous Swype on keyboard is still broken... Long ago before version 3.x, I could swipe "tamen" and it would nicely come up with 他们。 Now have to type the Pinyin in full or just "tm". Hope this glitch gets fixed.

Excited and very pleased you finally added a dedicated numbers row. And this app is wonderful because as I go phone to phone and tablet and as their individual stock keyboards usually change, I can stay with the same familiar and wonderful keyboard and never losing my added words to the dictionary. Thanks!

Emojis suddenly stopped working today. Long pressing the button for emoji screen to pop up and nothing happens. Nexus 6p.

It is now the 2nd time that I cannot install it directly from Google Play. The memory management somehow is screwed up, as with 382 MB free memory I am not able to install it on my Samsung Galaxy ACE2. Note: this is my one and only APK ever I have paid for, as what it provides is perfect. Now I always have to download the install files from some illegal sites being able to install it on my phone. Please have a look at it, as now the user experience for the install is terrible.

Update is making me constantly verify keyboard. Old phone - S5 but was fine before. Thank you. LOVE THE APP, user since 2012.

started using Swype many years ago during beta and I've tried and paid for other keyboards and I always return to Swype. the best. one of my favorites features is ability to enable multiple languages at the same time. I can type in either English or Spanish.

This used to be a great keyboard.the accuracy is awful now.70% of all words I Swype are wrong.I make more corrections than accurate words.very frustrating to use.

Been using swype since the early pre-release betas and always had a love-hate relationship with this app. It is unique in terms of features but gboard is catching up, so whenever i get too annoyed I switch to gboard and keep using it until i find myself switching back to swipe because of missing features in gboard. gboard now also has a copy-paste/selection mode! ????

This app has gone stale. Hasn't had a significant update in years.other Swipe based keyboards keep adding useful features (Google 5.0 is great!) and Swype stays the same.Wish there was more tweaks in the options menu. It would be nice to see options that increased the number of word predictions Displayed.or to show next word predictions by default instead of alternatives to the last swiped word.or most important, I'd love to see a gesture that moved the cursor back and forth so you didn't have to navigate to a separate arrow keyboard.

Please Swype, add an adult feature so we can swear without adding every swear word ever uttered to the dictionary.

Used to be amazing with the accuracy of prediction. But recently prediction had been frustrating. But still happy enough with it to keep using it.

BEST keyboard app... EVER! Gave it 4 stars ONLY because it does use a LOT of my battery! But I still Love love LOVE it! And I love love love the feature to be able to select all, copy and paste even when long holding doesn't work! It remembers better than Google stock keyboard my words!

Was 5 star, but they've hidden the option to (not) contribute usage data under My Words (not settings strangely) whereas this used to be displayed prominently post-install/update.

This is the best keyboard for android for everyone. I like the new emoji button and I just bought the colorful theme set. Looks great ????

Please add zero with non joiner (ZWNJ) to Persian keyboard, its necessary, Google keyboard has it!

The latest update got rid of Swype button x, c, v. I forgot and just went to do a Swype button c after quoting for twenty minutes. All my text was lost. You need to bring those creatures back along with a Swype button z for undo
