Dragon Anywhere for Android
It delivers on all the value offered. And better than the iPhone app because you can select Bluetooth as you mic option and it works great when driving! The only minus why I get you 4 stars is the pricing!! Too expensive at $180 a year for those of us that already paid $400,for Dragon Professional. Maybe you should consider discounting the price for Dragon licensees?? That would give you 5 stars all over.
Nuance provides no support for its products, despite their very high pricing. This app takes their "bait and switch" unethical marketing to a new low - free to download, but pay to play, and getting to unsubscribe is made as difficult as possible. You screwed me on dragon natural speaking v10, 11, 14 and professional 15. And here. I'm through, and I look forward to disputing the chargeback.
It is a piece of garbage application. I've used naturally speaking for years, and for the past 3 months to have subscribed to Dragon anywhere. Nuance has taken my money, but the app tells me that my account nor my email exist. And support ignores my request for help. So I have lost $45 so far into a subscription for a piece of garbage app. I am an IT guy by profession, so it is not like I do not know how to install, configure, and run applications. Dragon anywhere should get an award for the biggest piece of garbage application for the year. In new one should restaff their support and billing departments.
Works, mostly. A simple keyboard app is smarter than this. If my keyboard can predict words, I will why can't this app? I have set up my own vocabulary but cannot save and transfer to my other mobile devices. Also bad that it is only available for general dictation. Paying a monthly fee for mediocrity.
Cannot create an account on my phone, but upon opening must sign in with username and password to even use it. Useless. I downloaded Write4Me and it seems to work well enough and is free, unlike this app that I can't even get into. Uninstalling this useless pos.
Simply not worth it! Subscription canceled. This app has become completely useless. I had constant problems with it force closing immediately upon opening it. If you wait a little while it'll work again. Inability to access the server when I need it. Again if you wait a little while it'll work again. Charging a $15 a month subscription fee for this half-baked app is absolutely audacious, for an app that works… Sometimes.
Great app and content but the most terrible customer service ever, and now on top of it it is crashing often. I came to depend on this application, and I have recommended in the past but the terrible and very unconcerned customer service as well as the crashes that are happening now too often, I'm not sure if I'm going to continue and quite frankly I would like to have my money back unless the company wakes up and reformat how they value customers in the whole production chain. U have a good product but management and customer service are destroying it. Need to change direction
I really like this app, but $15 a month is too much for what you get. It doesn't work with Scrivener, but I can convert it to Word then copy and paste. For $15, I expected more options/features. I plan to cancel my subscription after NaNoWriMo, but only because of the cost.
Don't work with Marshmallow on HTC 10 unless they fixed it recently. On previous phones the Bluetooth headset worked very well but with marshmallow the HTC 10 bluetooth don't work or didn't last time I used it OK they fixed the problem... Took to long.... Lol
UPDATE: Now it's been 12 months since the last update, and the bugs listed below are still in effect. Dear Nuance, it's been six months since your last update. Could you please let us know if you're still actively supporting the app? Previous review: For $15/ month you'd think that Nuance could fix the bugs that plague the app (broken Bluetooth audio selection button/ weird double delete issues on Bluetooth keyboards/ buggy text transfer to Outlook Mobile/no Dropbox support on Android). Still, if you're in a quiet place and have a decent internet connection, Dragon Anywhere is by far the most accurate dictation app for Android.
The dictation itself, one you get used to the way things work, is just fine. The claims of being able to import a Google Doc are misleading. If you create a Google Doc, you must download as a .docx, .rtf or .txt file, then re-upload to Google Docs. Then you can import it. Though they claim you can sync with Drive or Dropbox, I have not yet found a way to do that with this app. Though, once imported, you are can either email it or edit it in Docs or Word (from which you can save it to Google Drive as a separate document with the same name, making it difficult to tell which is which), or save (not sync) to Evernote. If they can improve their document handling interface, I'd bump this up to a 4 or 5 depending on how well they do.
The app would be great. If it bloody worked! I'm paying £9.99 a month for features I can't use. It does dictating okay(ish) but the amount of times it 'fails' is getting ridiculous. I can't share my files because the app crashes, it often tells me my password is wrong yet it's right and takes me numerous times to log in. Unless the phone is near my mouth it doesn't pick up my voice despite my speaker phone picking it up fine. I'm now at the point of cancelling the thing.
This app bugs out as soon as I bit the microphone button. Appears not to work on Nexus. Also, tried to cancel and still got hit with an auto renewal charge. Not cool Nuance.
For what? How do I make an account? Why would I need an account to dictate into my own phone? I don't own the desktop version and I don't want it. I did buy your Swype keyboard, but I guess that means nothing.
I messaged the developers repeatedly about an issue with the application crashing. I helped them isolate the bug by finding my log files. We are now over 3 months later, and they have not fixed the bug. In fact, they haven't done any update in ages. I'm approaching a time when I will just cancel my subscription.
Continually forces me to reset my password and continually rejects my login. $15USD/mo for frustration? No thanks. Wasted my money, don't waste yours.
I just downloaded the app and cannot even begin to use it because it is asking for an email address and password I have never set up. There's no options for setting up a new email and password and when I tried forgot password of course it doesn't recognize any email I put in because I never set one up!!!$%&
I am receiving subscription expired on my app. I contacted subscription help and they said contact technical help. Contacted technical help and they said it's a problem with subscriptions. Neither help desk knows how to fix or cares to fix my prepaid problem. Update contacted help desk and everything is good
I have an android pixel c tablet, very powerful, and the app crashes all the time, whether in single-pane or double-pane. Long documents are particularly prone to crashes. I usually use cut/paste, and don't try to edit existing documents. Usually I don't lose my work, but it's a pain. However, I gave it three stars merely because it's the only app out there that does any good speech recognition at all, and I use it quite a bit. Another problem is that it needs a better microphone than is supplied with even the pixel c, and I use an expensive Sennheiser MB Pro 2. They want you to believe you can just talk in a normal tone of voice to your machine, and that's not true, at least, for a woman's soprano voice. All in all, an expensive toy.
From what I've seen this app does not appear to be accurate when dictating a matter fact Google Text-to-Speech blows it out of the water. When dictating with this app a lot of times it will only pick up one word out of the sentence. Sometimes it'll pick up the audio and not do anything. I have cancel the auto-renewal my subscription and very disappointed.
Worked less than half the time and it was a nightmare to cancel the subscription... Very disappointed and felt like I lost money on it without improving efficiency.
Very expensive compared to the same functionality in google docs (free). Adds constant non-removable notifications about some medical plugin to the nav bar on my phone. Doesn't sync to dropbox but the fanboy version does. Web site is a nightmare of random pages that loop as your looking for support or info. Support site is separate and constantly down so the forms are mostly empty. They need to put some real work into the app because GOOGLE DOCS DOES THE SAME THING AND IS FREE. It's just very difficult to get your dictation docs out to any other computer to be used. Best option is a complicated manual process of constantly emailing each doc to yourself after each edit and then downloading them to other systems. They haven't updated in a very very long time and may have dropped this project from what I can tell.
it is easy to use but the VOICE REC. SUCKS!!! It would be easier and faster to TYPE your project because the time it will take to go back and edit you entire work will take twice the time.
Always freezes on my android device. Latest Samsung S7. Also what I dictated. Only a portion of the text is sent to me. Very frustrating!
The application functions rather well but not well enough to justify a $15/month fee. Doesn't support the use case I am looking for. Unable to create account in the app itself. Must use terrible website. Unable to cancel trial in application. Cancelled trial via website but no confirmation is provided. No public support email available. Called their phone number for confirmation but was left on hold for 30 minutes after navigating a phone tree from hell. Very unpleasant experience. ***UPDATE*** They billed me anyway after I cancelled the trial. So that's great... ***UPDATE*** They continue to be unreachable by phone, email or their support website. They continue to bill me despite the repeated attempts to resolve this. Notice that they haven't reach out on this comment either. Only recourse is decline billing with bank. My recommendation is to stay away. ***UPDATE*** Received yet another renewal notification without any callback, email or response to any of my attempts to communicate with them. Successfully managed to receive a confirmation of cancellation via their support portal. My advice remains the same. Stay away.
Worthless. Doesn't pick up most of my common medical language. There is a specialty section but you can't change it to medical.
It is awful and a waste of time. You spend more time editing because it is just plain awful.
This needs to have a floating window. a small mic button to input text into whenever text field is selected just as it does in the desktop version it would make this app revolutionary.
I have been using the desktop version of Dragon for several years and I was really looking forward to this app. The voice recognition - German and English - is excellent, probably the best available at the moment. However, there are several downsides: The main problem is that you can only dictate in the app. It is impossible, for example, to dictate directly into an email-app. You always have to copy and paste or export the text. An integration with keyboard apps, for example Swype, which is also from Nuan
I'm writing a book and was hoping to incorporate this app with my daily time at the keyboard. And, ideally continue my work while driving using this wonderful app to augment my efforts with its transcription service! Too bad it's utter crap. I would Hope the full Dragon program, itself, is more accurate and robust. This app was inaccurate and glitchy. I'd write a more detailed response listing point by point the many deficiencies and disappointments I experienced but my response space is limited.
I am a power user and use this to dictate for large and complex documents, and for keeping my thoughts on track. I am an Auditor and multiple IT program manager. Without this tool my job would be much more difficult.
The description is completely misleading. I just wanted something to replace Google's terrible voice to text service that keeps getting worse and worse, but I'm supposed to give you my credit card number just to test it. Misleading misleading misleading misleading misleading misleading. Dishonest and misleading tactics.
I really like this app, when it works. I have had problems getting it to work even when my subscription should be continuous. I wish logging in and having everything work smoothly was more consistent. Otherwise, it really helps me to with be more efficient with paperwork!
I use this app almost daily to dictate my progress notes to. I have noticed that this app does not seem to have to many updates and doesn't seem to be getting much dev support. Google app. UPDATE! You replied, and haven't changed anything. You said coming soon, that was 5 months ago. I've been paying $15 a month since January, and you have done nothing to update or fix bugs. I love this app, but I won't pay for something that receives no attention. UPDATE!!! The issue has been addressed.
There are fewer bugs with the latest version, and the multi-window support works well. There are, however, some features I would like to see added. 1. Support for adding hyperlinks to text (this would drastically improve utility). 2. Basic table support. Also, text correction needs work. It frequently repeats the same error I am attempting to correct (e.g. and vs. end). Update 11/2/16- App has begun to crash, even after uninstall. Still usable, but it's annoying.
For $15/ month you'd think that Nuance could fix the bugs that plague the app (broken Bluetooth audio selection button/ weird double delete issues on Bluetooth keyboards/ buggy text transfer to Outlook Mobile/no Evernote or Dropbox support on Android). Still, if you're in a quiet place and have a decent internet connection, Dragon Anywhere is by far the most accurate dictation app for Android.
Used Dragon on the PC and is was good. Trying to use it on my Google Pixel C and it just crashes constantly. Sometimes it crashes when I am logging in, sometimes when I try and dictate and sometimes when I try and open the menu on the left.
Doesn't recognize voice or commands microphone cuts off when I stop talking. Deleted document for no reason. I would not recommend this to anyone.
App is free in store with no in-app purchase flag. Once downloaded the app is useless without an account, but you cant create one without subscribing to and purchasing their dictation service.

As an author I love this app it's wonderful to be able to write as you go about your day. However I do think $15 a month is a little pricey especially considering I already have the dragon on both of my laptops. But for convenience sake I'm willing to the other fault that I find with it is that it is not compatible with other apps on my phone I dislike having to copy and paste whenever I want to dictate into an email or a text I would help for $15 a month I would be getting a little bit more use out of this than I am
