Japan Connected-free Wi-Fi

I can't register it. Bugs need to be fixed!

Always wanting to reset data so doesn't work if this hasn't happened. Also very limited access across Tokyo, 90% of the time we tried there were no access points.

After updating the newest Android WebView, seems I finally successful to register. But I am not in Japan now. can't test if it works. I'll try next time I visit Japan. Thank you anyway.

Free Wi-Fi is great but it could be better, i thought it would be very useful when i go out but it is not.

Always saying the signal is not nearby.. Even i am staying in the place with free wifi

Not great. Tried to use it multiple times, it's easier to simply log on to the networks yourself.

Work most of the times. At some points, it cannot authenticate.

Two weeks in Japan and used this app in most wifi hot-spots and it works 30% of the time so i used to combine this app with "Travel Japan Wifi". However if you can afford it you are better off with a mobile router or bring along an unlocked phone because since you often on the move it would be less stress to have connection to help you out with directions ( Google maps is so handy). If they can combine all free wifi hot-spots might worth using.

Really, you are better off buying a data sim for 2500 odd yen which will get you 1GB for 30 days. I tried it in a few places but can't say it actually ever got me a WiFi internet connection successfully. Simple enough app to use, though it still needs to download a chunk of data before it will do anything.

This app doesn't work. Period. If I'm doing something wrong, it sure isn't explained well to me what I'm supposed to do. Will be uninstalling immediately.

I would have rated 1 star but didn't. because this app gave me access to Internet at seven11. Besides that it was garbage.

Its rubbish no where i went did get wifi its another BS free wifi con.Nothing free in Japan.

東京メトロにて使用。地下鉄で移動すると、駅につく度にアプリを起動して認証し直さないといけないのが不便。これでは認証成功の都度に出てくる「3時間有効です」みたいなお知らせは無意味な気がする。

Stayed in Osaka for 10 days and was able to use this app for wifi access in train stations and a few other places.

Waste of time. I just ended up connection to free wifi spots myself.

Not too good... have been using the hotel wifi and my global roaming plan when out.... really looking forward to my phone bill when I get back home

It worked i use this every time i go to japan but japan dosen't have lot of free wifi to use this app it self is good

It works perfectly fine. All you have to do is simply connect your phone with JR wifi and open this app to get authentication. Nice and easy.

wifi 接続ができません。不安定です。広範囲でネットワークがあり、便利なアプリなだけにもったいないです。自動的に接続しそこで会員登録する事ができればいいのに。前もって登録してもアクセスポイントが見つからないと表示。ストレスです。

Worked fine for me, make sure you indicate which free wifi you're trying to connect to first, then use the app to confirm and log in for you.

Doesn't work

The app quite often claims that I do not have an internet connection, although I have a stable wifi connection. It also fails to download offline maps (download starts and gets stuck at 100/100).

Been in Tokyo for almost a week now, and have never been online with this app.

I've been in Tokyo for a week now. The app failed to connect all the time, even in places with signs of 'Japan Connected Free WIFI'...

I loved my trip to Japan recently and was excited upon hearing about this app and getting a validation code from the Tourist Information in Tokyo. I was in Japan for 2 and a half weeks in many over the major cities. It only connected once in all that time. Manually connecting to various free wifi spots however was generally not a problem. Don't bother with this app.

It's a great idea but fails to connect too often. I was right next to the store it was connecting to, and it would fail. Having said that, the app saved us a couple times and is worth a try.

Good App

Nice idea, but app just loves to repeatedly go get the data (using my 3G sim) instead of doing what it is supposed to. Please make going getting the data optional.

Can't download off line maps on android device

Sorry but during 3 weeks I never found a free Wi-Fi that this app unlocks. This app only spams you with geolocated promotions. Get a Sim card from docomo or softbank and you should have access to their private free Wi-Fi.
