Novi Security Mobile for Android
A pain to set up, apparently only a few scenarios were tested. It works when you get over the setup hurdles, but it is unusable anywhere where more than one person lives in the house, especially with kids, due to a lack of ability to arm/disarm on a schedule. Devs, look at Tado app and how they did scheduling. Also, really, add the ability to turn the flash off. Without scheduling and with the flash permanently on, this device ends up disarmed all the time. UPDATE 2/27: Logged on session times out at random, when you need to use the app you learn from a modal WINDOW_WITH_SUCH_ERROR_MESSAGES, that you are no longer logged in. Still feels like an alpha-stage app.
Bad first impression: pasting in my password took forever. The paste menu rarely popped up. There seems to be something wrong with the text fields.
It's just too slow, glitchy, and goes offline. Their support is nice and all, but when the hardware and software isn't there, not much they can do. They made some technical design decisions to support battery life that may prevent them from being able to get the speed the system needs to be usable. I think they made poor decisions. UI of app is not very good. Just a lot wrong.
I just have one Sensor watching the front entrance of my home. I first set it up and then armed it to test it out (of course). I ran by the sensor to try and get past it but I could see the flashes from the sensor and I immideiately got a notification with three incredibly clear pictures of me running by. For the 15 minutes it took for me to set this up I am very impressed by the performance. The app is clean is easy to use. I will update this review if anything changes.
I'm a Kickstarter supporter of Novi and I'm disappointed. The novi app is offline more than it is online. I feel that I am a Beta tester having been an early adopter. Novi released the product with loads of bugs to calm supporters as delivery was way overdue.
Needs improvement
Novi has a talented, motivated group of engineers. This early software is still quite SLOW, so my message to Novi is: keep up the good work! Make this awesome!!!
I just received the Novi Security smoke/motion detector about a week ago. So far, I have found the app to be quite lagging and the photos taken by the detector to be low res. Also, the detector kicks off a visible LED flash which gives away the detector and, as far as I can tell, doesn't give adequate illumination to make the photographed subject recognizable. Not worth the money invested, for sure after waiting more than a year to get one in hand.
I'm a Kickstarter supporter of Novi and I'm super disappointed. The novi app is offline more than it is online. I will arm my house only for the app to tell me it's not armed. And then the arms go off and I have to remove the batteries to disable. I feel Novi released the product with loads of bugs to calm supporters who had not seen the product.
The app is slow to respond, and in fact did not work at all initially. UPDATE: I have been in contact with the engineering team at Novi, and they have been extremely helpful and receptive to feedback. I'm moving my review up to 3 stars; the app is slow and lacking in polish, but I am optimistic that they will improve it.
The application is super slow, notifications are not sent to my phone if someone comes in when i have the device armed. The app does not always save images of whoever entered. It acts like a break in never happened. Application rating 2/10. Needs much improvement.
Let's go guys, app connected once now doesn't work at all
Needs tremendous refining
Please Keep Refining

Had someone break into my house while I was out of town. The Novi alarm activated as it should have, flashed, and sent me the alarm. The burglar panicked, grabbed a single item and ran out the door. The item grabbed was actually of no value, so I lost nothing. Very glad I had the Novi installed and active. Pics could be a little clearer and would like the ability to schedule activation. Still it saved me, so 5 stars.
