Speed Reader for Android
Lots of potential, but lacking. This app has a potential to become a great app, but it needs some upgrades. The bookmarks needs to be improved. They don't bring you back to the exact spot you left the bookmark at. There should be an option to scroll up just in case you fall behind and miss some lines. There should be a progress bar to show how far along you are. It Need a night mode. Please seriously consider these upgrades and with pleasure change I will change the score.
Such as moon reader, and calibre companion. Calibre companion looks for ereaders, and doesn't see this app. And, since the app won't open ebooks itself - a dialog opens saying it only opens text file - so there's no way for me to open and books in this app.
I've bought the upgrade and tried it with a book. It would be wonderful to have the option to start reading from a specific page or line. Also, bookmarks are not working correctly, it continues from some random page rather than my bookmark. Must be improved.
Lets you taste it for free but any real use requires purchase. Should've been more upfront about that so as not to have wasted my time
I don't know how to rate this app. RSVP option is good, but when i choose Speed Scrolling Reading option, all the line goes to top left corner collapsing every line, it is unusable in my phone. And also that, when i try to purchase pro version, it shows purchase failed message constantly without going to payment windows.
You have to purchase the app to open files you already own. There are better speed reading apps out there. This one should be avoided. It is trash. Total waste of time.
Was looking forward to using it on my pdf files after downloading the paid version, it doesn't work on ANY of my files. Error says file has have all words in it or something.
Do not bother with this app if you want to actually read a whole book. It's effectively impossible to move back a page or paragraph that you missed. It's also impossible to search for a location so you can't continue a book you started in another app. This app appears to be just a gimmick.
Small buttons are difficult to press on my Nexus 6; should be larger. This used to work great on my smaller phones.
Hey, I just paid for full version and was able to play it once. Why it's back to free version?
Although the practice games need better touch detection when playing. It's very annoying having to hit the number multiple times before it's recognized.
They need to update the ebook feature that allows you to use your own books pdfs for 1 also any of the problems the other users have spoken about also is there a way I can transfer my payed app to another account?
I absolutely love the app but lately iam having to reinstall every other operation as it will just freeze. Super annoying having to reinstall every time i wanna use it
Bookmark feature does not work reliably. Can't scroll back to re-read a passage. Not at all functional for reading.
Having tried numerous rsvp apps over the last 6 years I have been settling for second best always searching for "the one." Well this is it. I can go back a few words should I miss a beat. I can bookmark multiple books ànd there is the scrolling mode as a bonus. Now I can really get into reading broadband style. Thanks to all the developers who worked on this masterpeice. I would love to port it to pc.
I like that it has spritz style as well as scrolling. Page number support would make it 5 stars
What I like best about this app is the reader, it allows you to use a scrolling method or flash 1 word at a time and the you can set the words per minute rate, and what really knocks it out of the park is you can import your own reading material provided you have it as a text file type.
I paid for the premium version so that I could read my ebooks. But when I try to load a book it starts from the beginning. I can skip to the chapter I want. I nearly at the end of clash of kings which is hundreds of pages long and I would have to sit and wait for the app to slowly scroll line by line to get to where I am in the book. That's ridiculous! I'm so angry that I wasted my money.
Should have a reading comprehension built-in. It says I can read 800wpm but what's my comprehension?
The app is nice for getting your eyes accustomed to speed. The speed reading test needs an "I Dont Know" option for when you can't tell what the last word was. Otherwise, all good.
When I tried to use the "share" function to read a webpage it said "unfortunately spritz has stopped working". I reported it but no reply. Don't bother.
A feature I would like added would be to disable the visibility of the stopwatch when doing Schulte Tables, as it distracts me sometimes and I have to struggle to not look at it.
I liked the app initially because of the practice games. So I decided to buy the paid version. However, the reading experience using my own epub files has been utterly disappointing. You can't scroll or bookmark if you're not using RSVP. That's a half baked product and I would not recommend buying the full version. Also, most of the buttons do not work properly on my Nexus 6 and I have to press twice or thrice to select things.
This has been pretty much the best speed reader I have had and I have tried plenty. However, there are a couple of things that can be improved. It would be great to get a contents menu. Every time I have to start a book from scratch and then keep bookmarking along the way. Also, the speed shouldn't be limited to 1250 only.
I love this app it is amazing!!! It really gets me excited about reading now knowing that it doesnt take that long and i still retain necessary information. Its amazing and more people should know about this. One suggestion though, we should be able to pause, go back, go forward and even read from whichever paragraph we choose. .
I love your app and bought the upgrade. However, it would be wonderful if we can bookmark shared text from other apps. Sometimes reading a long text can't be done in one sitting and we need to be able to save the progress and continue later.
Really need to work on touch detection for your practice games though. When it's all about getting lower time having to press the button five times before it's acknowledged is pretty bad.
App is brilliant for speed reading however I wish it would allow me to scroll to different sections in my books so I can pick up where I left off, as appose to having to read through the entire book again. Please add this feature on next update!!!!!!!
Should have a reading comprehension built-in. It says I can read 800wpm but what's my comprehension?
The Rapid thing is useless.
Required to purchase if I want to read my own book. So I can't even test it. No thanks.
My friend had suggested using an app for computers Spreeder. Because i could not get said app for Android, i picked this one. 100% awesome.
I like this app and the scrolling feature. I have some books in PDF format but the App (the free version at least), doesn't seem to recognize it, Is this available in the paid version, possibly?
Your apps is perfect but please if you can to add a language like arabic thanks
Got it to read a book and told me i needed the full version. Agter i bought it, it only showed symbols and cant get my money back
The service sucks, took the money and still didn't get my app upgraded to pro, somebody fix this
This app doesn't work, can't read pdf
I've tried other speed reading exercises and have found these to be simple and practicle. Although I am a mortimer adler fan and agree that speed reading for just fact finding, its still a skill worth developing with the advent of new technologies.
Can't try out my own epub files without paying, a complete waste of my time.
