Most of the time I get a "Can't connect web service error." From a security company I expect reliability. Not happy with Northstar. Even their home pad doesn't always work. About ready to drop this company for a less expensive and yet, more reliable company.

1/2 the time this app takes forever just to log on, and another 1/4 of the time I get "website error". So the app is good about 1/4 of the time. Really disappointed. Please make better. Is anyone looking into making this app better?? Why am I paying for this security when it doesn't work more than 1/2 the time?!

If you are thinking of getting this alarm company for the accessibility granted by the app, don't. Half the time there is connectivity issues. the mornings are crazy with two kids and trying to get to work so I have used the app to set my alarm to come home and find even though the app says it's armed it hasn't been all day. The images they are showing don't seem remotely like what is offered in mine either. Oh, and the thermostat link is never correct. Now, I'm stuck in a contract with a crap service.

I loved the option of controlling my home from my phone. Whether at work, vacation, or just at home to turn down the a/c. I was sold. I payed extra for the door lock, garage door sensor, a/c control, and cameras. Everything worked great during the tour after install. All these features have not been available for the past few weeks. This is the second time already. Great idea and i love it when it works, but anything that only works half the time sucks. You wouldn't buy a porshe that only starts on even days ...

I'm two days into a contract with Northstar and the app has had to been the worst part of the entire thing. I've had to uninstall 5 times and reinstall each time and still get the same crappy service with the app. Fix it or I'm out of here contract or no contract

What happened to the AUTOMATED icon inside the app? Now I cannot access thermostat, door lock, or the automation settings. NOT GOOD AT ALL!!!!!

Live feed through doorbell or being able to see recorded videos by doorbell camera isn't viewable with Adroid. Very basic for Android. I'll give it a 5 star once these features are on Android apps.

The idea is great but what you get isn't very great. The app rarely receives updates and really could use a face lift. It's very buggy when it comes to controlling thermostats. Most of the time when you change the temperature via app, it turns it 5+ degrees in the opposite direction of what you requested. Was told by sales we would have features that we don't get and they installed equipment very poorly. Not worth it. Also, don't let those screenshots up there fool you. GPS/geofencing is NOT on Android app.

This company and its service and products are horrible. App doesn't work, website doesn't work, thermostat doesn't work, sensors on doors fall off, they double charge for services and then never return the money. Stay away from this company and its products. And please do not expect service after the fact. All this and we are only 14 days in to the service. All I want is my service cancelled and was told I signed a contract, and there was nothing they can do...lol. My attorney has assured me differently.

It worked for a couple days after the install and the guy putting the app on my phone. Even when he called to see how things were after day two. I woke up on the third day and nada. App can't connect and it just a waste of time. Very dissatisfied. Don't do it! Don't get locked in that 5 year contract.

For the most part this app works. There are some weird bugs though. Half of the time it says "no service schedule" or something along those lines but it will still arm the alarm. Other times after arming or disarming it will just continue to say arming or disarming, but still does the job. Exit the app and reopen it, and it's done what you wanted it to. Also you can't back out without using your home screen.

I keep getting "Web server error" messages and some others a lot lately. Some days I can be sitting in my own driveway and trying to set the alarm and it takes forever. App needs some serious work and updates

Was one of the features that sold me on this alarm system. Guess thats a breach of contract on their part. Worked for like a week than quit working. Wish they'd get there act together and fix it.
