NOOK App for NOOK Devices for Android
Easy to use. Love that it's a tablet one reader in one. A lot of space, but you can also store things on the cloud so it's not taking up device space. Long lasting battery. I wish there were more sizes for your reading letters, I have it set to one size and if I want to go up a site it triples the size and I don't need it THAT much bigger.
I still take my Nook everywhere with me. Would like a better current read widget. The current one won't work with Go Launcher. I do have to say that I liked the way the widget looked on my old Nook better. The books rotated around 9n a circle instead of just being in a square on your screen. This look is a step backward in appearance to me. Other than that…. My Nook goes everywhere with me.
Love Barnes and Noble. Many free books. Serial Reads have decent books and new authors to discover. Also love, the read for 1 HR free in-store with a Nook (most of them), another great way to explore. Note: not everything is available for the in-store read, yet the list is extensive. I have the Samsung Tab S2 have stored many books and am enjoying having space on my shelf again.
I will always love beautiful hardcover books. I grew up with them and have many, many favorites that I treasure & will keep for the rest of my life. That said, I prefer reading with my Nook so much so that I have purchased Nook ebook versions of these very same beloved hardcover books! The convenience of the dictionary, font & display characteristics, search function, etc., provide a level of convenience that is irresistible. It's also provides huge benefits in terms of a much, much smaller ecological impact -- no paper, ink, transportation, or warehouse/store inventory space required. Lastly, new author publication barriers are much lower -- good for the new author as well as the large Nook audience. The only downside is that you still need an actual book if you want a copy signed by the author.
By far the best reading app out there with the free proprietary stories and books. Prices are competitive and I appreciate being able to easily tell which book is next if I am reading a series, which your competitors are not nearly as good about. The only issue I have is why do you not allow us to mark a book as "finished" as other competitor apps do? Sometimes I forget which ones I've read and have to open it up to see. I have a lot of books in my Nook and other libraries.
I love my nook, I actually have several and use all of them. My one request would be while shopping it is annoying to have books listed multiple times. I am not sure of the reasons for this, but, one listing per book is quite sufficient. I would absolutely recommend a nook to anyone who loves to read. It is so great to have your entire library available no matter where you happen to be. I also love the ability to shop for a new book at midnight if needed. Thank you to B&N for the nook.
I have had two different versions of the nook and loved them both. B&N knows what readers want to know about and they customize selection and layout for individual preferences not to mention the blog content and community rocks and years of experience selling books! No one else can top them, (sorry Kindle)
My Nook books are my best way of avoiding housework! And the easiest way to obtain books by my favorite authors. I'm still using my second Nook (the Samsung tablet) and it's only now beginning to show signs of giving out. Considering that it is used all day long for reading, browsing and shopping, I'd say I got my money's worth! Love it!
Love my Nook book it's easy to use, You can store a lot of books better than a dusty book shelf . The color graphics are great. The only downfall on my Samsung Galaxy Tablet is the glare when reading and you can't read at all in Florida at the beach in direct sunlight . I hope they fix this.
I love being able to take multiple books everywhere I go. My only complaint is the internal memory. Considering all the bloat ware (that can't be deleted), the storage capacity (for what you do want) should be larger. 8 GB's just aren't enough even with external memory .
I have had a Nook since they first came out. I wasn't sure if I would like not holding an actual book but I love it! It's so convenient, especially since I read a lot. I also travel and no longer have to make room in my luggage for multiple books! I am a devoted Nook lover!
I have had this app for years and have over a thousand book. I really like it but have started to notice some issues with books not being in my library and not registering as ones I bought. Have had to call the help line to give them my order numbers to read some of my books. I have been going through my email confirmations to catalog them and finding some books I have bought twice over the five or six years that I've had this app. I'm finding it hard to trust this app anymore. Might just start buying from somewhere else if I find too many more issues.
This new Samsung nook is awful, hard to use and understand :( sadly I got an 8g and half of my space is being used to run the tablet. Don't get me started on the SD card that I installed..... why did B&N change their nook I hate this version boo. After a year I still hate it
I had a Nook years ago. Loved it. Now I have the Nook app on my Samsung tablet. Still love it. My only criticism is that I dislike having to either click on the book or go into the menu and click, current read, just to pick up where I left off. It would be great to just open the app and have the book you were reading, already be there.
This is my second nook I loved the first but at 4 years old it was dying this one is a constant companion. I use it for many things not just reading, the Web browser is better than the old models but could use some work. I love how games and apps from android now work on here and it has more of a tablet style interface. Still loving it a year plus in, you though the case is not as durable as the older one but meh.
The app sucks. My library is jacked. Books keep disappearing and reappearing. Half of my books don't open, and it was a nightmare getting the books on my SD card to show up in the library. I never had this trouble with my old NOOK color. Very disappointed.
I love how the pages are set up. Easy to use and can change the size of font, page layout, and color of pages. Also, I like that it shows how many pages until the next chapter. Plus, I can easily look up words by selecting them on the page. The only thing I wish it had was some kind of lock on the page I'm on so I don't accidently flip the page.
I have had a nook for 5 or 6 years now. Something like that, I can't remember when I got my first nook. I love it. Easy to use. Love having so many books in one easy place. I was worried at first that I would miss holding a book in my hand while I read, but now I love how I can read anywhere anytime. Especially love how comfortable it is to read in bed! Love my nook!!
Don't like that you offer shelves for book series but they don't stay in order written and published. I have asked about this change more than five times and still have not received an answer as to when it will be fixed. I'm to the point that I won't be spending any more money on books with this device.
Be better if B&B special offers could be used. I am a voracious reader and buy many books, but balk at the high prices charged for basically brain candy. The coupons are great, but useless when Nook books don't qualify. Would definitely rate Nook 5 stars if I could use special offers.
Love the ability to carry large numbers of books in one small device wherever I go. Writing notes and highlighting places has become almost a compulsion, one I never endulged with paper books. It's so easy to find a new read, download it, and store it in one of my shelves. . .wonderful.
As a book reader an email reader, the Nook works well. However, the library is chaotic, with titles randomly moving around, and missing the option of pegging titles in the location and sequence you want. Also, ebooks from sources other than Barnes and Noble, such as various free ebooks, seem to be deleted when the Nook software is updated.
I LOVE my nook. I can take my whole library along with me wherever I go, camping, flying across country, the beach ANYWHERE! The only thing my nook can't do, is smell like a book. Aromatherapy would be a great addition. Is there an app for that?
I've had Nooks since they first came out. Loved my first one and all the ones in between. I have the Samsung 8 inch and enjoy reading books, magazines, listening to music and watching videos. It's the perfect size and weight. Easy to carry in my purse.
Mostly good, especially for epubs. It works like it is supposed to (so lots of good). You get three colors for highlighting, plus some other commenting tools (good). On my Samsung Nook, it does not close itself when I use the back button to get back to my home screen (bad).
I upgraded to the NOOK GALAXY tablet and I love it. My books are easily accessible and there is more versatility than with the Nook Color. A very good improvement is making Nook Friends available to anyone with the Nook app -phone, iPad, computer... I have also found groups on Goodreads and Facebook so I can broaden my reading options. UPDATE 4/22/17 - I found out the NOOK friends feature has been removed. This makes it impossible to try out different books that your friends own. Now, in order to borrow a book, you have to know which book you want and which friend owns it. I have started having issues with my NOOK where it constantly flips back to the lock screen after I turn it on. I checked the software, thinking it needed an update, but it says that the software is up to date. Not sure what I need to do...
I have had 3 different Nook's. Each time I had to get a new one because there is not enough space to store everthing ( games , books , apps etc ). This last one I purchased I thought I had purchased a 32g but when looking into my storage it says 16. Needless to say I am not so very happy that I yet again purchased a tablet that does not have enough storage. I will not be purchasing anymore Nooks. That is the only reason I've given it a 3 rating. Otherwise it is a good tablet.
I love to read and the nook is perfect and I love all other computer applications that are available as well. The only thing that needs work is the applications that are factory installed and cannot be loaded on your card. Those apps limit space that is my only complaint .
The app is OK as it stands but there are a few things that could be better. The battery life takes a huge dive after only a few weeks of moderate usage. This is my third nook and they all preformed the same. The biggest problem is that the control buttons are on the wrong end! when turning pages or operating a game, the Close app function is inadvertently triggered and this is really annoying. Please fix that!!!
My favorite e-book app. The only problem I have is when I view my archive section it won't let me sort by Author. Just Title and Most Recent.
Easy to use, syncs across devices, and holds all of my content. But since the last update, I am unable to create new folders or add more than 100 books to any one shelf (even though already more than that in there).
I've had my nook for years - I absolutely love it. I take it with me everywhere I go! I thought I would miss books....the smell, turning the pages, having the book in my hands- I was wrong! It is better than I could have imagined! I can get books at any time, I can download hundreds at a time, I am NEVER without a book or waiting to get the next book or just another book to read- because, I have my Nook!! Get one today!!!
Have thoroughly enjoyed the nook app. Sizing text, page turns, bookmarks, across device go to most recent bookmark, all excellent! I am annoyed that some books, not all, are not shareable after you buy and read the, but that is driven in part by the publishers so it is not a nook app issue. Overall A plus!
Grouping still needs work. Love that I can now save to the SD card, but I can only save certain books, would love to save all, bought and free ones. The short cut library window keeps flickering. Same as above.
Great app and device for reading in color. B&B's selection is unmatched and you have total control over what you want to read and keep in your library. No more piles of magazines and can carry it anywhere is AWESOME!
Best app there is for serious readers. However i do have a problem with syncing my nook app on my apple device with the books i have on my nook device. Might be a user error so im still trying to figure that part out.
I have using this application since it's beginning. I haven't had any major problems. If change my hardware all I have to do is load it and open my account and it's ready . I even have it on different devices it is automatically updated . So great no problem . Thanks
I do not like the new nooks. Book transfers do not work. Game transfers also do not work. Latest book you are reading does not show up on the home page. I have bought new nooks, one of each size and do not have one good thing to say about any of them Thelma Hicks
For the most part I've been very satisfied with this app. There have been a few occasions when I'd like to hurl my tablet across the room but I can't think what those were at this time so it must not have been that significant. I do wish there was a font/brightness feature that would allow for reading on the beach. I have a sun screen on my device screen now but it is useless in bright sunlight so I revert back to my paperbacks when at the beach (which is almost every sunny day here in western MI.) All in all pretty much satisfied with the app.

I needed something that was easier to travel with than a heavy laptop, yet, could do most everything I do on a laptop. I also have all my ebooks from Barnes and Noble, Amazon and GooglePlay - and needed a tablet that could handle all the reading apps and all the many digital formats that ebooks come in. The Samsung Nook is working perfectly for me in both of those areas. I found a keyboard cover by Logitech at Best Buy that fits it perfectly (was, indeed, made for it). I even found a bluetooth mouse by Logitech that works with it (just a couple little glitches with that, but does everything I need it to do) - was told by several salesmen that it wouldn't work. I am very, very happy with it!!!
