Tender - Sous Vide Recipes for Android
Until recently I could not get the app to connect to my sous vide unit. I had version 0.2 on my phone. I noticed that it was updated in December 2016, but the app did not automatically update like all my other apps. I uninstalled version 0.2, rebooted my phone, then installed the new version. It then connected to my unit and showed me the status of my unit. It allowed me to set and start the timer. The app still leaves a like to be desired, but it seems to be working.
In case someone at the company reads these, the app and unit do not communicate after the initial contact. One instruction can be sent after a complete reboot and then nothing else works. The android app is useless and the apple app is only marginally better. Please hire someone who can make this work or be honest and don't sell this as a WiFi enabled unit.
Garbage. Buy a Nomiku if you want the device, but do NOT buy one because it is advertised as wifi or has an app. The app does nothing. Even if you get it to pair, you cannot remotely control your device. Others have complained about not being able to log in via Facebook; creating a non-FB account doesn't work either. Whoever coded this app should be thoroughly embarrassed. Your parents and I are very disappointed in you.
Easier to use the device without this app, it never syncs up. Also you can't dismiss recipes in the explorer view, I really don't need or want to see breast milk every time I open the application.
App looks good, has plenty of food recipes but is incomplete. It is not possible to filter favorites or bookmarks, also could not remove incorrect devices.
Really easy to set my sous vide from my phone. It would be nice if it beeped when it got to temp and then also when the timer was finished.
Would like. To see user reviews on recipes. Feedback is crucial.
You can pair a Nomiku with it only if you do it manually and not following the Quick Start instructions. Once you get it paired, you'll know it's done because the name you gave it shows up even if you reinstalled, but that's _all_ you'll ever see; tapping it doesn't actually do anything; Cook This just invites you to choose your Nomiku. Recipes you can see on the iOS version don't show up at all in the Android version. The search box gets "stuck" so that only a forced stop lets you search again. Useless!
You can pair but it will never control the cooker. Don't bother with the app.
Kickstarter is committing to a product before your know if it sucks, and this one sure does. Manually controlling the wifi sous vide is clunky but possible, but the app is somewhere between terrible and pointless. It crashes constantly and is flaky about pairing. Worse, the timer doesn't shut off the device when it's done, and the device doesn't even make so much as a beep! If you want it to cook properly you need to time it yourself separately and make sure you're around to turn it off. Terrible!
A major feature of the app is being able to control the Nomiku device remotely, a feature at which it's badly failing. 1. Despite it apparently turning on the device (how do I tell?), the temperature isn't going up, and the timer hasn't started. 2. Pressing play on the timer works until the screen turns off, next time you turn on the phone it has reset to the starting time. 3. Pressing the dial pad button clears the temperature and time. 4. Pressing start gives no indication that it's done anything. 5. The back button drops you out of the app instead of the previous screen. Incredibly frustrating. There'll be uncooked chicken waiting for me at home tonight.
When browsing recipes one has searched for, the Android 'back' button should take one out of that search and back to the home screen with featured recipes, NOT exit the app altogether.
Paired device and app but unable to control device after Paired. Too many notifications about temperature change. Uninstalled till fixed.
I created my account on an iPhone using Facebook. Now I can't use the Android app. Nice.
Impossible to use because it exits the app literally any time you hit the "back" button.
This version of the app and the other version that's in the play store both don't let me log in with Facebook, but for some reason it works just fine for on my old iPhone. This shouldn't be that hard to log in and use the app

Can't connect to the device after first sync. When it worked, i set the temp and time and had to manually start the timer after it reached the cooking temp (there was no alarm or notification). It should at least start the timer automatically. Seems to be an issue for a lot of reviewers, please address this.
