News+ | Google News RSS Reader for Android
I wanted to try News+ with Tiny Tiny RSS plugin before purchasing paid version, but it doesn't let me. It said you can't use more than 1 plugin. But it is impossible to disable goggle news plugin to try the other. Worthless.
Many users give bad review but I can not find the reason and what they like to find there. This is the best news reader with many settings and source. Just, developer didnt make update long time so I hope that will come some new things....
This app does not appear to be developed any more. No recent updated. Bugs in app. Offline reading full of problems. Will be moving to something better.
Looks like the app has been abandoned. No updates in over a year now. Some big bugs now with Android M. Was good while it lasted.
No thumbnail in widget even after all synchronization, junk images and incorrect thumbnails, repeated articles, incomplete coverage, keeps defaulting to US region!!
Hardware rendering is required or articles scroll poorly, but the option causes other display bugs. No updates in A LONG time unfortunately. Was GREAT when it was being maintained...
Syncing issues on marshmallow. App not updated in a long time to fix bugs.
Appears the publisher is no longer supporting his apps - no update in almost a year and the website has been offline for weeks. Pity - it was one of my favorite apps.
Widgets only supported in pro version. Couldn't be bothered to pay just to trial what should be a basic feature.
The Feedly & Google Needs support is wonderful but I'm knocking off 3 stars since this app still doesn't have any options to automatically limit syncing & offline caching to occur only while my device is on a charger. I tried to submit this suggestion in the app's Feedback section but that leads to a dead link. I have rather large feed subscriptions & these missing options would be very helpful in saving my battery.
News+ has bugs but has not been updated since January 2015 and seems not to be in active development. Latest update is for KitKat! It becomes more and more buggy.
Seem to remember being pushed to this from greader some time ago but both have the same problems no matter what settings I change nor whether on my phone or tablet: 1. Web, as opposed to Feed, loads a page within, then immediately reverts back to the Feed ie headline only. 2. Pages often lose the theme when reloading so have to toggle inverse page on/off. 3. Tried all the page style options and still don't get the intended download style for offline reading; at best a web page without pics even though settings allow for all. Only stuck with it as it gave some offline use for my aging phone.
I was a little surprised that your tts does not allow speed increases. Right now it sounds like someone struggling with reading in middle school.
Constantly takes me to a a completely unrelated article when clicking any story.
I had more channels I was following on Google news I really hoped it'd have some feature like that you know add your own channel you wanna read in ur separate feed cause that was more productive time for me on reader if there's that feature I don't know then please reply to this thread or I guess I'll just keep looking for some other app
My news preferences don't seem to matter to the developer. Why bother with this when other apps allow me to select my own news topics, and to remove topics I don't care to read?
looks like greader, but there are things missing: 1) no refresh button at the top 2) article is not marked as read on the server when scrolling over it, as happens on greader 3) no tesla supported, please fix above
As it is, you're stuck with the standard edition of your region, not your customised version. If you have custom news categories, on the web version, you'll have to recreate them here by hand (and I've yet to find a way to sort the ones I made). Also, I've somehow hidden "sports" and have yet to find a way to unhide it. Not that I want to, but it's a bit bothersome. Last but not least, if you use multiple plugins, it only updates the last active one, not all of them, which is rather annoying.
Just stopped using Feedly when it changed to a monthly rate. Started trying a couple readers and really like this one but miss having the widgets on my homescreen. There's no way I'm paying $5 for a RSS Feed Reader so I'm going to look for another one. If anybody has any suggestions, hit me up... All I want is a a reader that you can input custom links, save items for later and has a widget that displays current items.
The best news app out at the moment. Easy to customize your feed and share articles. You can download so you don't have to deal with a browser. Well done.
I set sorting to see newest posts firts, but order is messed up. I can see some today posts, then some yesterday posts, the other today posts and so on...
This app is an indispensible part of my daily routine. I use folders for filtering my subscriptions on theoldareader website and I really miss this option from the News+ app. Anyways, imo it's the no. 1 news app on the market. Keep it up and thanks for your work.
News+ has bugs but has not been updated since January last year now and seems not to be in active development. The dev is obviously just supporting his other app gReader. Allthoug News+ looks familiar to gReader it doesn't get all features gReader already got months ago.
Mark as read on scroll no longer works since I've updated my phone to lollipop. Please fix this and I'll change my review to 5 stars.
Very intuitive design, great themes, and the fact you can use this app with many different services... simultaneously if you wish, make it the Swiss army knife of news readers. I'm currently using it with Inoreader and Tiny Tiny RSS... and an added bonus is the Google News interface. Highly recommended.
great + ttrss = sensationell! Thank You! bought within 5 minutes of usage
When are you going to be fixing the TLS issue as I can't use it at all now until this is fixed
It must download every item, 5-8 min. Total time before showing the first topic. Other sites are 60-90 sec. Uninstalled
Easy to use. Great alternate for google news app, which is not working properly for many android devices.
I am about to give up. I cannot figure out, or read about, how this app is intended to function.
Searches don't work and the interface is an eyesore.
Hasn't been updated in over a year. Bugs are languishing in the bug tracking queue. Developers website is dead. Hate to say it, because this project had a lot of promise, but I think News+ is no more. Just wish the author would open source it so other developers could take it over.
This app appears to no longer be supported by the creators. They created this app which appears to be just another version of gReader. They stopped updating this application after an update that basically ruined the reading experience on this application. No updates to fix issues. Don't waste your money!
Wanted an app that does not open the links in the browser. Found this one after trying many other apps available. Works perfect. Lots of useful features in a very user friendly interface. Five stars!
You get what it gives you and there is no way to import your own RSS feeds. No way to edit source feeds, only general topics. Uninstalling. I miss the days of Taptu.
Was using Greader pro for a long time and finally moved to news+ b/c I moved to inoreader. This app is perfect for me and shows me to either scan the news I need or read full articles easily. Love it!
A good news reader. Dont know when they will drop it, just like Reader.
It's just the same greader, but with more bugs. And I already payed for greader and now I have to pay again or to see the ads. Why?
This seems to have been forgotten about by the developers. No answer from support for the bugs that are always there.

I loved it at first.. Loved the widgets. Yesterday the widgets were gone and said I needed premium. 4.99 is the only upgrade I could find and under another app. It does not specify if the 4.99 is for ever, per month or per year. Very little upgrade info on the old app. I will prolly purchase a premium new outlet... But i need to understand for what and how long I pay it. If you answer my question I will give you 5 stars for the service up to now. Thanks.
