gReader Pro | News | RSS for Android
Great interface and usability. I bought the pro version. A month or so ago everything stopped. Nothing syncs anymore. Uninstalled, cleared the cache, etc. It just doesn't work. Not on my phone, not on my tablet. Come to think of it, that's the core of the application's functionality. Both the phone and the tablet have version "4.3.1_pro". I can send you the prefs file, or any logs if that's possible to enable in the application, should that help you diagnose the issue. Please fix it.
I've been using this app for years, and have loved it. However, different sites have made their RSS feeds less reader-friendly, forcing me to load the webpage. That's no problem, except that it takes so long. Where I used to have articles pre-loaded, and could quickly flip from one to the next, I now have to wait for each individual article to load. Rather than having the article available immediately, I have to stare at my screen for 10-15 seconds waiting for it to load article link and go into reading mode. Makes me consider giving up RSS altogether. (I emailed the developer about this long ago and heard nothing.)
Would be 5 stars but the in app video player only seems to work with youtube videos. I'm removing more stars because you have not fixed the in app videos. You can't see the video only can hear the audio. Smdh Now my feeds won't update. This app sucks I wasting my money.. Deleting this junk
Having already emailed the developer and getting no response, I'm posting here. When you have a widget on the home screen and open an article from it, it does something weird with how the article opens. After when I go to open the base app, it returns to the most recent article I've read by opening from the widget, then all I can do is hit back which closes the app. When I open it again, it's the second most recent and so on until I do that for every widget article. No current option fixes this behavior.
It stoped working properly a little while ago. Have spent some time in trying to fix it but nothing works. So since I have a pro version I contacted the developer but they decided to ignore me - a sure sign you should avoid paying for this app as should something go wrong they will do nothing for you.
For the last week only 3 of my 15 newsfeeds have been updating. My other 12 will not. I have made no changes to my settings to cause this malfunction. My only option has been to remove the subscriptions, then add them. The feeds then download automatically, but only on that first occasion. So I am left in the annoying position of having to individually resubscribe to each newsfeed each time I wish to check the latest news. This is not the gReader Pro service that I paid for. Please remedy this problem immediately.
Update: Tried with the latest version. Still stops syncing with known active feeds!!!!!! Now stopped syncing. What a joke. Actually had better results with free version. Pro seems to have a mind of it's own and ignores some specific settings. And I'm continually receiving the same news items over and over on sync no matter what changes I make. Waste of $ for the pro version. Hate using this POS.
Badly outdated, the app is currently unable to authorize through Google accounts because of changes Google made to their authorization systems. Bought a new phone and can't log in. This was the best RSS app for a long time. But it's useless to me now.
Works quite well, but the design just doesn't cut it for me. Why does the app start with the main menu exposed? Why are the button highlight colors in the default theme inverted compared to what you might expect? Why are the margins in the list view so teeny tiny?
I've been using this app for years and I loved it until the update that auto opened YouTube videos as you scrolled across them. It makes the app damn near unusable. The dev has totally abandoned the app and there's no fix in sight. At this point it's not worth your money
Was very excited to purchase this app after using the trial. But now it's just disappointing and mostly terrible. It would only sync 2-3 of my many news sources. I tried reducing the sources down to 9 and I still have the same problem. :-(
Used this for a few months, worked really well so I bought the paid version. All good. One update comes in and links don't work in half the cached versions of the app. That's fine. I can just load the Web version. A couple months later another update comes out and literally 28/29 feeds I have running don't synchronize at all anymore. Please just revert to the previous version. Judging from all recent reviews, I'm not remotely alone in having this problem.
This has been my default RSS reader for quite some time no. But yesterday I upgraded my phone to Android 7 (Nougat) and had to reinstall my apps. Now I can't sign in to gReader Pro with the Google login. It gives an error. I've no way to log in now as I tried setting up an account with my Gmail email address, hoping it would sync up, but it didn't. Please fix!
I like the interface and integrations the app provides however it does not work properly with feedly at the moment - articles marked as read in feedly does not get updated in greader. I've raised this with dev team.. UPDATE: Going down by a star as I received no response from a dev team..
Readability formatting no longer works. A workaround is to auto load Google mobilized and then hit the R but to get better formatting but the double click to readability was better. Will raise rating once problems are fixed.
I've ditched this app at years of use. A long-standing bug which results in the font size of the list view jumping all over the place when scrolling through it makes this a very annoying app. I've emailed the devs, but have not responded. I guess they don't care, because they've got my money.
Recently a worrying bug has developed. When a feed summary is double tapped, instead of the full article appearing, a random, completely unrelated, article comes up instead. The problem has been discussed for some time on forums; and this, as well as the failure of noinnion to communicate, has led to the conclusion that the app is probably broken and not being developed. Caveat emptor.
Hasn't been updated in a while. YouTube videos in articles keeps popping up and the Google login is now messing up. Sort all these and you might get my 5 star rating once again...
This used to be a great app. But looks like the developer has abandoned it and is not responding to bug reports. The scroll bounce issue that came up since recent android update is very annoying.
This app doesn't sync news. It used to. Now it doesn't. I found a work around. If you unsubscribe then subscribe again the feed will come in. But you have to do this every time. Worst of all, I emailed noinnion and they didn't even bother replying. Rather poor. Philip
Used to be a great app but now it starts embedded video playback on the slightest touch and I need to hit the back button three times to finally kill the video. Makes reading posts with videos in them very very very annoying. I'd happily give it 5 stars if not for this bug.
I've been using this for years. It's nowhere near perfect, but it was the best Android reader I found. A couple quirks were irritating-they all dealt with video in some fashion or another, but I lived with them. That said as of 1/10/17 I've stopped syncing new articles. The program has stopped working. Looking at the issue it doesn't seem like I'm the only one. Now I've moved over to Tiny Tiny RSS.
Hamstrung by a ridiculously annoying bug where YouTube videos pop up and auto play multiple times no matter if you have it disabled or not. It's been there for a while now, and it makes any article with a YouTube clip in it maddening. Fix it and this app will be amazing. --Edit : Don't buy this app, it is dead. No updates, more and more bugs pop up. Just about every article with a YouTube link automatically starts playing videos THREE TIMES, no matter what settings you choose. It used to be fantastic, it is not anymore. Find another app.
It's still an excellent reader but needs updates and bug fixes (YouTube issues, takes two goes to save images etc). It's such a shame the developer has abandoned it. I paid good money for it. It's still my go-to app for news though.
It stopped working since Google changed the oauth login. Last update is almost 2 years ago. Abandoned project. Do not buy anymore. (bought it myself when it still worked)
Now this app doesnt work anymore. Synchronisation works only once when u install it. After that it doesnt sync anymore. I dont know why dev not fixing it. I have paid for pro version. Please give my money back.
07Jun constantly better for now. |10May I don't understand, sometimes I get the ads, full screen and banner. Sometimes it's gone. |06May 1 star to attract your attention. Ads on Pro. And links are broken alternately. Fix it and I'll fix the stars.
Hated new GUI animations, which only slows down user experience. Now, share link requires an extra tap to select from only one option (Pocket, which I have configured as default), which is completely ridiculous. I regret having paid for this... In fact, I was happy for paying for the version there was one year ago, not this new crApp. Stop developing for worse, please. If something really good doesn't get updates, it's ok... Don't worry, don't worsen things.
Every time I use readability to read different articles from different sources, it loads the same page with what looks like an article in Greek! What's going on, the same thing happens on my phone and tablet.
I've tried them all, this is THE best. Clean, simple, fantastic. Lots of options. It's perfect. If I was only allowed 1 app, this is my choice. I can't live without it.
YouTube videos start playing randomly and ads pop up over articles. Many articles don't preload, others start off with a blank area at the top. Altogether, the reader is barely usable.
Almost 6 months later, and the YouTube bug is still not fixed. This makes using the app very annoying. Till fix comes, I recommend buying a different RSS reader app.
This app has been broken for months. Images load incorrectly, links opened via widget won't rotate, Youtube links open incorrectly and they open twice. This app in it's current state is a complete mess.
Really like this for the customizable widget, but battery issues are probably going to force an uninstall. The more sources I select, the worse it gets.
The worst thing is the autoplaying YouTube videos. Even worse, if you try to stop the video, it tries to play it two more times. Otherwise, it consumes a lot of battery. I also believe the app is abandoned, so do not purchase.
I can't scroll past a YouTube video without it playing, then I close it and it tries to play again, then it's all good. Driving me crazy.
This incomparably feature-rich app was my favorite reader, but I thought it was a gonner, so I tried others. Then the 04/16 update came and I was thrilled, but I couldn't find the setting to use my preferred browser. Finally found it under Reading Preferences > Article Controls. Happy again. Very grateful to the dev for keeping this wonderful reader alive!
Liked free app. Bought pro. Doesn't load free app data so I can use. Despite email to support no response. Is there such a thing as an app. which is only good for an anchor?
Videos do constant autoplay. No way to stop it or disable. Good features overall but not polished. Weak compared to Reeder on iOS or Nextgen on Windows.

I used to love this app but now it doesn't work anymore. This app no longer supports the Google OAuth so it can no longer log into anyone with a google account. Its been likethat this for months now, and haven't been able to get a response on the forums or by contacting the developer. Be careful not to pay for the app, since it is already somewhat non functional, but most of all I shape t it is no longer supported by the developer and is End of Life. Too bad, it was a good app.
