The best stargazing app bar none. Worth the small purchase price. Get it and delete other apps!

Very useful

Can anyone help? Sometimes it works well, other times it gets stuck and doesn't react as I point it in different directions. GPS is on, and I can't figure out what other settings should be enabled. Location is on on the phone too.... Any suggestions very gratefully received. My phone is a Motorola running Android

Would like a way to enable topocentric coordinates so the earth and moon line up during the solar eclipse correctly. Otherwise things are a few minutes off, depending on where in the path of totality one is. Aug 21 North American eclipse coming up so I checked it against NASA's data. Desktop version lets you change this setting.

I feel like the information and graphics are decent. However, in terms of gps/accelerometer, I have no luck with it matching my actual direction. I'm on a Galaxy s6 edge, Android 7. All location services on. No matter which way I'm pointed, it always says East. Basically, only useful if I turn those features off and manually point it for info/time.

I'm VERY disappointed.. I have the pc app and that version is FAR superior. I can't calibrate the app.. so when I'm facing south, the app says I'm facing north. When I focus on an object and try to zoom in the app crashes. When ever I open the app it fast forwards to the night EVERY TIME.. Even though it 10:44 am right now. I'm very dissapointed. Even though sky map sucks.. right now it's an easier and more accurate app. Please fix because I want to stay with stellarium (based on how good the pc version is).

Basically useless when compared with the desktop version. Impossible to name and save a location. No compass marks. Very difficult to determine in what timezone the app is working. After entering coordinates for Pyramid Lake in Jasper, Alberta in this app and the same coordinates and time in the desktop app, obtain completely different results. Asking for a refund

Wonderful! Not sure why people have problems, it's perfect. Taking it into the field without needing a laptop is a huge help, and the nighttime mode is great. So much easier to use and better than most other star apps! Absolutely love it.

Actually a fantastic -I have it in use on my Laptop at home. Unfortunately it will Not reinstall since my tablet -(Samsung 10.1)- did a complete re-boot &reload several months back during an update. Google play store shows App already purchased-but attempts to reinstall show a 'error code -24' notice.

Yes there is a certain technical problems but it's ok regarding the stellarium continues updating software operating system just because we here on earth are still facing the cosmic thermodynamics force field difficulties that happens to flow it's beams balancing galactic termous at the octagon constellation ring beyond the ring of pluto. Octagon ring.. the 13th member of our milkway beams of sacred.

This was my very favorite star gazing app....but suddenly the directions of stars/moon/planets have become mismatched and sometimes completely reversed Tried to recalibrate, over and over...no luck. I have a Galaxy s7 and app used to work fine.

I was not able to easily operate this app. On my device the app menus were not as described and did not provide proper functionality. I'll be getting a refund. It does work well on a pc but on my android device it was worthless.

Y70%
by Y####:

It is awesome as a sky map. As far as real time tool, the accelerometer has issues sometimes as it randomly locks the x axis. Seems like an app glitch that can be very annoying when it occurs.

I have used stellarium for many years on my PC(Linux). S till as good as ever with the android app. Easy to use and I do not recall having any problems with this programme.

The only problem I have found for now is the location settings. It's so uncomfortable to scroll the list of countries and cities each time. Why can't you make a simple search option? But anyway thanks for a great app!

Q70%
by Q####:

I would pay $1000 for an app that shows when the "Cheshire moon" aka "wet moon" is visible from a given location. Unbelievably there is still not an app for that. Conspiracy?

Q70%
by Q####:

Great app. Works well in the field, is accurate if the phone is. I would love it to have telescope control like the desktop version, but that's a small gripe. Easy to use and quality application.

Air pollution in my town are so thick that I can see no star :( Thank you Noctua for making this app.

Q70%

Perfect for finding what you're looking at or looking for, perfect for finding the right constellation to look at for meteor showers, perfect for verifying what planet you see. I love all the features, and especially the night vision for phones!

Q70%

I've been using this for a few months now, and was getting annoyed with the lack of accuracy when moving the phone to find objects. Even when recalibrated it still was far off.

Extrem cool. Ich interessiere mich eh schon extrem für den Weltraum. Das ist einfach nur genial. Auch wenn es was kostet, der Preis ist berechtigt! :) ;)

Cant figure out how to use this app. It starts up pointing to south and does not change the view when I point to different direction.

O70%

Very straight forward in it's presentation and onscreen menu options. Recommend highly to those new to night sky observing especially if you are familiar with the computer version! The finger draped function combined with the tone function is very intuitive and great for coordinating observatons.

We need a better way of choosing a city. I give up selecting a location because scrolling is killing me. Please allow to type.

W70%

No problem figuring out how to use the app. Just fiddle with the settings for a minute and it's pretty easy to get it working properly. I think it is easier than the PC version to use, but the PC version is fantastic nontheless.

Please allow the user to turn off labels.. It is very hard to get the shape of constellations like the Pleiades with all those levels all over it!

Gyro doesn't work properly on Nexus 6p 7.1. Interface is ok for 2010, but for now it looks so outdated.

Nowhere near as accurate or detailed as sky map, which is free. Disappointed

Ideal for amateur star gazers. Lots of stars at least up to magnitude 11 yet surprisingly small and compact with a neat clean interface.

No way to favourite items..... So i can't pre plan with the app.

Q70%

Painfully tedious to input a new location. Moreso when it's not on the list. No substitute for the free desktop version.

K70%

GPS doesn't work. The map gets stuck and doesn't move and keep showing same location. Really disappointed.

Its great for when me and my guy go star gazing to see what we are looking at through the telescope :)

Quite badly done. Computationally, the program seems to work fine. But documentation is non-existent (a PDF available through their website refers to an apparently very old version which is nothing like the present one). Trying to change locations is essentially impossible using the postage-stamp size world map, and one alternative - selecting country, then city name - requires senseless amounts of scrolling. There is no search mechanism that allows you to enter a city name. You can enter latitude and longitude - archaically, only in degrees-minutes-seconds format - but these settings are not stored in any retrievable way, and are forgotten on startup. Setting the time is a joke. Apparently, only local time is used - but it's impossible to say even that, since there is no indication of what time zone is used or whether daylight time is in effect. Although this may be slightly useful for casual, on-the-spot stargazing, it is utterly worthless when it comes to planning trips to different locations or viewing even at your own location at different times. A shame, since the desktop version is not horrible. I was really hoping for more, but I'm already looking for an alternative.
