About anyTide UK Tides

Tidal predictions anywhere along the UK coast that can also be used offline via the use of bookmarks. Place a pin on the map at any coastal point and get a tide prediction for that point (to the nearest 1.8km). Predictions anywhere in the British Isles for the current day are free. In-app purchases allow the purchase of calendar years of data, again covering all points in the British Isles (and N.W. European shelf).

anyTide predicts tides from a combination of gauge and model data from around the North Western European Shelf, with particular focus on the British Isles.

Pins show the locations of the tide gauges in the UK National Tide Gauge Network.

The 3D computer model developed at NOC then fills in the gaps between the gauge observation points, with a 1.8Km feature resolution.
With this model, anyTide really can provide a tidal prediction at any point along the UK coast to the nearest 1.8Km.

Note that Tides at a bookmarked location can be viewed with no network connection required.

The tide chart features are:
* zoomable from 12 hours to 3 weeks
* swipe right or left to scroll time periods
* auto and manual height scale from 5m to 15m
* long press to access precise time / height data

The app is free to download. In this state it will provide tidal prediction for all points for the current day.
It will also give tidal predictions for the point (N 53.433 W 3.100). This is just off the Liverpool coast close to the original Proudman Oceanographic Laboratory founded by Joseph Proudman and Arthur Doodson.

A calendar year's worth of predictions for all the British Isles can be purchased from within the app.

Displayed times are shown correctly in GMT or BST, depending on the date.

Excellent app. Accurate and extremely versatile. Unlimited tide predictions for a small fee.? Can't go wrong.

Y70%
by Y####:

There's free tide time apps with depths available so why would I pay for the same info? What exactly would I be paying for that I cant get already? Nice UI and runs smooth though.

Y70%
by Y####:

The calculation is no doubt clever, but the user interface is awful. For an app often used outdoors in bright light, why plot the tide in dark blue on black? Free predictions are available elsewhere covering most locations to an accuracy adequate for most users.

F70%
by F####:

Useless. Selecting ports nearby did not do anything. No tides shown anywhere

R70%
by R####:

Does all that you want it to except to quickly tell you the actual times of high and low water, which is a real shame. You need to slide the pointer over the graph until you reach the high and low points and then check the reported time! Perhaps high and low water times could be overlaid on the graph or even indicated by a red dot that when pressed pops up the time? Even better another menu icon that pops up a little list for the next couple of days (if like me you've paid for extra predictions). Thanks

Live on the Isle of Wight the sailing capital of the world and only 1 tide is available.

Crashed multiple times and the interface is useless

Will not find any ports other than "near Liverpool" Rubbish. Uninstalling

I'm a leisure sailor in northern Ireland where tides can be tricky. I've installed anyTide UK on both my android phone and tablet no probs. AMAZING this app is a gift to leisure boat and serious sailors alike. The Tide chart has a cursor that may be moved and set. The real power of this App is the tide current flow direction and strength overlaid onto the map. (map not a chart) Its like having a zoomable map covered in Tidal diamonds that are displayed in Real time or in any time using a slider. Detail is good, and is very good when a Reference Tide Gauge port is selected. The tidal flows are extrapolated from the Tide Guage data ref. It must be of course be remembered ...lol that the displayed data is not to be treated as Actual real time observations of conditions at your selected locations as prevailing weather conditions may affect. My thanks to the talented development team who made this app.

Potentially good but spoilt. For use at sea all data must be available offline. Tidal data for the whole UK uses only a tiny amount of storage. Why therefore go to the extra trouble of programming for data to be downloaded station by station? Having downloaded, moving the downloaded data to another device is time consuming for those unwilling to risk copying into system data files.

Tried to get tide data for Hornsea East Yorkshire. It kept saying I was nearer Liverpool :-S

Y70%
by Y####:

It keeps starting up.

Y70%

Good for tide graphs but tide direction and flow doesn't agree with charts or almanacs.

E70%
by E####:

There is no clear distinction between the days, the night/day time bar is a nice feature but if anything highlights the confusion of when the calender day is. Also it lacks saying which day it is and only shows the date. Seeing as it is mostly hobbyists using this data, knowing when the weekend is is vital information, having to cross reference this with a calender is clumsy and should be rectified.

Uninstalled as useless

Great on note 4

K70%

This is a nice app. It's accurate and has a nice, well presented graphical interface, but you have to pay a subscription for the information. Unless you need the long term predictions, there are free apps out there that provide short term information.

We get cut off by tide so really great not to have to check tide timetable daily. Would be even better to be able to set red bar to tide height when on/off the road. Could you do that as an update app builder? Thanks

Y70%
by Y####:

Nice, but does not include secondary stations, just interpolates between primary stations which is not neccessarily accurate.

Y70%

A good usable app for tide prediction

R70%

Very good app.

Keeps going to Liverpool? Unenstalled!

This data is free but the app requires you to pay for it. Switching to another app that doesnt have hidden purchases!

Y70%

Adding, deleting or editing the bookmarks causes the app to crash. I can't even add a bookmark in the initial startup mode (have to click arrows)., the plus icon is missing from the bookmarks. Long-pressing doesn't give the option. Look-ahead data is far too limited - less than 24 hours is impractical. There are other (free) apps that provide several days of data (for free)

Z70%

Promises much but frustrating to use. How do you close it down completely without using app manager?

K70%

Have to purchase tide tables each year...!!!

Says no internet connection. .there definitely is...won't download data on Galaxy note 1 GT_N 7000..have paid for a years tides...not good

K70%

Seems to be a lot more stable than when I first used it. I like being able to bookmark location's I choose but would like to be able to edit the name, rather than be stuck with a long list of lat longs

I know tide data is produced for Ferriby Sluice but this app snaps back to Hull some 15km away.

G70%

Seems to do a good job of interpolating tides between coastal stations and, after you get used to the interface is easy enough to use. As it says, it is for coastal use and doesn't work for rivers.

Don't bother waste of time useless as a nun in a strip club

X70%

X70%

Another great tide app that looks nice and has a good UI but that has glitches that render is useless. Everytime I try to bookmark a favourite location the app crashes, I was going to purchase the additional data but don't think I'll bother if I can't save locations.
