CBC Radio

Great app, love the CBC and all it's content. Please add non stop sequential playing of my radio queued items so I can use this on my bike ride to work without having to get my phone out.

The app is great, however lately I've been having issues with live radio dropping connection whenever I try and multitask (facebook, twitter, chrome etc). Using the drop down menu bar doesn't work to resume playback either. (06/14/17) Streaming play now stop upon getting push notifications from other apps (Facbook, twitter, tumbler)

App itself works ok but as others have said, it's a huge battery drain on both my Pixel and Nexus 7 unless I go into settings and force stop as soon as I'm done with it. This needs to be fixed.

Does what is needed. Rating is because Play button is unresponsive sometimes and app does not start playing again after I get notification for text.

Exceptionally functional app. I love radio and CBC is one of the best. I am somewhat surprised a bit that the rating is not higher. Works flawlessly for me on Samsung S7.

Like the app overall. But as many have said before me, it had a voracious appetite for my battery. To be safe I always force close it - which is a pain in the butt. Fix this and I could give it 5 stars.

Current build seems to work. No pausing after a few minutes and still works after the screen is off. Too bad CBC Fredericton wouldn't stuck with one stream method so third party apps could serve the station.

I like the app and I used to use it quite a bit but one of recent updates is killing my battery. The app used 12% of my power since last charged and I never even opened the app. I'll re-install when this is fixed.

Don't care about frills - this is a great app to catch up on radio shows or to use while travelling in areas with poor radio coverage. The standard definition sound is still very good, and it uses very little battery or mobile data.

On Pixel phone, Was listening to show segment I missed this morning. When it ended live radio took over and I couldn't stop the player any where. Had to force shut down. WTF??

Should be called "The App that Wouldn't Die". No obvious way to exit, and it keeps coming back to life after being dismissed. Have to kill the process (or reboot) to make it stay dead. Zombieware... trendy but annoying. Otherwise a nice app.

This kills my battery when running in the background, even if I have closed the app. Only going to settings->apps to force stop stops it from burning through 25% of my battery life in one day. Shame as I like everything else about the app

Love it when I'm using it, but recently it's started opening itself and draining my battery. I close the app and 20 minutes later I see it's opened... and appears just below my 'display' for battery consumption. Now my battery doesn't last 9 hours!!! Bummer.

Love it except for the battery draining. Why? I use it once a day to listen to news but it runs all the time in the background draining my battery. Not good!

No issue withe app when using it, but with latest release its a huge battery drain. Keeps phone awake even when not it use. Will rate higher when fixed, for now had to uninstall.

User interface is mediocre. The inability to queue within a show is unacceptable. I got a phone call while listening to a show and had to go back starting from the beginning? Forget it, there are plenty of other podcast players with those features and better user experience. Also, after you stop listening to the live stream it will continue to drain your battery all day. Today it has used 19% of my battery and I haven't listened to it, or even opened the app. For comparison, my screen has used 6% of battery.

Notification comes back even after closing the app. Little sound glitches in the audio stream are distracting. Went back to using my FM tuner.

Does the basic job but for the past couple months, this app just chews up my battery; even when not using it or not even running.

It's ok, but where's the metal?? The punk channel was pretty good. More pop music from what I have experienced so far.

The former problem of the app not notification not dismissing even when the app has closed has returned.

Battery drain issues require a force quit after every use. This has been a persistent bug for a few versions.

This app uses 22% of my battery. And I'm not even running it. It uses more than the Android operating system. This needs to be fixed.

No way to exit the app. Notification of what is playing never goes away. Drains the battery.

As others have stated, this app will continually bring back a notification even after you have closed the app. Other than that, the app is pretty good. You get access to every CBC Radio program across the country.

Uninstalling because it will not stay out of my notifications, no matter how many times I remove it. I launched it once - once - and now it's apparently my constant companion.

Love it. Programs are easily found, always up-to-date. Can download episodes to your device. Crystal clear sound-quality. Thanks CBC!

I listen to the CBC most days, and this is a great way to refer back to episodes I liked, or catch up on the ones I missed.

I use it regularly for listening to live radio. I also like their segment feed. I usually download interested segments and save them for later listening. My one complaint is that the minor "timer" features don't work for me. I would love to use live radio as my alarm, where it slowly fades in, but it usually doesn't work on my Nexus 6p, even after I configure the battery saver options to never restrict the app. But overall, would recommend for CBC lovers.

A frustrating waste of time! Will not play the radio for much longer than 2 minutes, at which time I would have to manually restart the stream to listen to another 5 minutes. CBC website works just fine, this is getting uninstalled.

It's rare that I can listen to the radio longer than five minutes without it cutting out at which point I have to restart it manually. Makes this app almost completely useless. One would think the developers would do a better job as this is our tax payer funded national radio station.
