NOTE: This app is only for Android-powered devices that have the Google Maps and Google Play apps installed. Moreover, both you AND your friends (with whom you wish to exchange locations) must have the app installed and logged in to at least a social network.
Find My Friends allows you to exchange REAL-TIME locations on Google maps with your Facebook, Google+ and email friends. Location exchange is visible only to you and your selected friends. No account creation is required, the moment you launch Find My Friends, you may directly exchange locations with any of your friends WHO HAVE ALSO INSTALLED THE APP.
You can also use Find My Friends to send constantly your location to close contacts (e.g. family members, spouse, good friends) even when you do not run the app. Moreover, you can set map zone and proximity alerts, and get notified when your friends enter / exit a map area and / or are nearby!
Find My Friends also offers the "location to browser" extremely useful feature; If desired, you can transmit your REAL-TIME location to ANY online device with a web-browser (e.g. smartphones, tablets, notebooks, desktop PCs).
The Find My Friends main features are:

Permissions usage (Please read also our privacy policy):
"Find accounts on the device": detect whether you have a Google+ account, in order to be able to +1 this app.
"Read your contacts": be able to read your phone/tablet contacts, so you can import them.
"View network connections / Full network access": check that your internet connection is functional, since otherwise the app cannot work.
"Use accounts on the device": ask authentication tokens from the official Facebook, Google+ and Twitter pages.
"Precise location / Approximate location": pinpoint your location and exchange it with the contacts you select.
"Wifi/network state": inform user if the internet connection is ok
"Start on boot": if close contacts are enabled by the user, notify him/her that location transmission has started.
"Set alarm": if close contacts are enabled by the user, transmit periodically his/her location.
"Google Cloud Messaging": to exchange notifications among users.

I used to be able to manually add a contact now they have to be in Facebook or Google plus, so can't use the app, useless. Very disappointed.

And when I tried to close out of the app I got another warning message with no text which wouldn't let me go anywhere. Awful ux. Uninstalling. UPDATE: Have reinstalled and all text is coming thru fine. Also really quick response from admin so have upgraded rating. Can't give 5 stars at present tho because I haven't got contacts added to track!

Every time I try to invite my wife, it just sends her a text message with a link to download the app. The tutorial didn't solve anything either. Well, I can at least find myself on the map.

Android only works with Android, and Apple only works with Apple. If the app was interconnected with those family and friends, it would be useful.

So a few of my friends and girlfriend have android devices, but I have a iPhone. It would be very usefull if these apps could interact because even though the "maps" used are different, the location stays the same, isn't there a way for this app to share the way find friends does? I have added all of my family with ios devices and it works fantastic, if only it could find android devices aswell

This is not user friendly at all!!! I downloaded on my phone my husbands phone and my sons phone....we can't even get each other add as contacts on it!! It shouldn't be that difficult to use something like this. And then all the pop up ads...what the heck...then you have to purchase and pay monthly...do you realize people are not made of money. I wouldn't even give you a star but this stupid thing makes me!! I will be removing this from all our phones and looking for something easier.

Disappointing. It needs to request permission each time you want to see your contact's location. This is no good when you just want to check your child has arrived at school and they are in class - they don't need to answer a permission message! Does anyone know of a tracking app that still works without data, using phone signal rather than data? And one where permission is not needed each time you check location?
