NJ TRANSIT Mobile App for Android
Finally, finally nailed it. We can finally buy SINGLE bus tickets through the app which some day, will streamline bus and time involved accepting cash. My bus still sucks bc if a bus hits traffic, 5 mins can get re posted like 5 times, but other than that, all good things.
Better than using paper tickets, but it randomly requires that you reinstall in order to access your account. Not what you feel like discovering when you're running for your train.
Huge improvement over the previous version. I like the home page, it's very useful. Departure vision is a great addition. With the old version, the monthly ticket would pop up automatically when the app started, would like to get that feature back. Other than that, great job...
Can't see bus time tables to plan trips. May be good for train and rails, but could improve the bus service aspect of the app.
Says tickets can be bought for all routes. That's incorrect. You can't for Brigantine. It doesn't even give an option to do so.
App crashes on launch and will not display active bus pass. Please fix this. - Samsung Galaxy S5
The app won't actually start...just a spinning progress indicator that never goes away.
How long be I can get one day pass on the RiverLine
Stop automatically opening up the ticket when I start the app or at least give us the option...
Finally finally got a new look and feel. Much faster than previous versions. I'm happy with it.
606 bus on sundays is never on time and this app sucks!
I lo ve it
Just love this application
This is very Helpful
Update: they finally updated it! Much smoother and user friendly. OLD REVIEW :The app seems dated and lags a lot on even the most recent devices. The user experience is not that great. It does everything it needs to (purchase tickets, check schedules), but would GREATLY benefit from optimization and a better UX
Major improvement. Everything I need one spot. Set up favorites and all is very quick and easy to access. Nit picks: logo on main screen too big. Space could be used better. Departurevision l/r scroll should wrap. Custon colors needed. Still a little slow to start. Is it still very battery hungry? Overall nice job!
It was a rough start (laggy, couldn't scroll through stations without it selecting the station) but keeps getting better with each release. Doesn't always provide a convenient way to refresh arrival time information on departure vision. Nice to be able to save favorite stations and favorite trips.
It is getting better, a lot less laggy in general, but still way below expectations. Why can't one use current location while planning a route? Nor one can look it up on the map. Not look for a location name. The only way to plan a route is by searching for stop names, and that search lags, too. Again, getting better for buying tickets, but don't count on it to navigate NJ transit. And, the last but not least. It got ADS now!
A massive improvement over the slow, buggy mess that was the previous version. Notices for delays and tracking departures right on the home screen. Load times could still be better, as would be the ability to use my ticket's the QR code from the lock screen.
DOES NOT WORK WITH ANDROID O! PLEASE FIX! PLEASE TEST AGAINST LATEST ANDROID DEVELOPER RELEASES! More convenient than the ticket booth but the UI is terribly sluggish and the app sticks to your notifications until you force close. Developers need to research and follow Google's app design recommendations.
Finally! I can get intrastate tickets for the bus. Thank you for that NJ Transit. But what's this? Banner ads in your app? That's just god awful. Please get rid of these!
The update is an insane improvement. It runs much faster and smoother. I only use it to check schedules, so I can't comment on its other features.
App works fine. However, it's still terribly designed. I the latest update still makes of the ugliest apps I've seen.
Your app sucks just as much as the phone service does. I've been trying to get home for 2 hours. Only good thing to come from this was the motivation to get a car
Only installed this App for the My Bus feature, I found out that the App initially did not remember my most used routes, now I am able to set up favorites, which is great, my original scenario was to simply save the web bookmarks of my routes to my Phone’s desktop, but that was tedious. Update: 5/1/2017, Updated today, an issue where their was a log with the page scrolling on MyBus has been fixed, This App is one of my favorites because it enhances my need to be efficient, I can arrive at the bus stop minutes ahead of when it arrives, stress free and not have to wait in bad weather.
Even the new design is outdated. But the app does the work.
A long overdue update. Works much more stable and snappier. Home screen widget with Departure vision is very useful. Update: There are ADs now in this program. WTF?! You should remove them for paying customers.
Do my eyes deceive me??? Has this app finally been updated to scroll smoothly with a decent UI? Definitely a step in the right direction.
Finally a much needed uplift of the user interface. Much more functional home screen and better use of colors on screens like Departure Vision. Even the scrolling on Schedule view is much smoother and better, probably Android code for it was also re-factored. Huge improvement over the previous version which seemed like an app developed in a rush driven by novice designers and product owners.
Buses that show up at bus stop do not always appear on the app. Why is this? Are the drivers shutting off their GPS's? This needs to be addressed!
Crap. Multiple phones can't use one account, so I can't use the app because my brother has it on his phone, but I can't make a new account because my phone is registered to an account already.
So you update this app that seemed to be built by a 5th grade student using Microsoft Paint, and just changed the colors to the interface?
This app is very helpful, but I wish it didn't have a persistent, undismissable notification. The notification even stays if I log out of the app. Get rid of it, or at least give me the option, and this'll be a 5-star review.
Frequently crashing on Android, always says app got corrupted reinstall. Did uninstall and reinstall 20 times until now.
It keeps saying my login session expired. Fix this garbage!
Seldom do I edit my reviews on apps. The NJ Transit app has recently been updated and works rather well. I look forward to future updates.
I pay over $400/month to NJ Transit for my train pass. Why are we seeing ads?
Much needed update provides new UI and enhanced performance, much happier with this app now
Trip planner is broken in this version.. Keeps saying unable to network..

This app will certainly come in handy if you are running late and want to buy a ticket when getting on the train. However, the app is sluggish and not very responsive to touch. Trying to pick the right station out of the list is excruciatingly frustrating. For now I'll stick with paper tickets, the app is not worth the bother unless you're running late and want to avoid the surcharge.
