About Volume in Notification

Volume in Notification is intended for use on devices running Android 3.0 and up.

This app puts a media volume and mute control in the Notifications window that can be accessed from the status bar on your device. It lets you adjust the volume without using the hardware volume button and without exiting the app that you're currently running. For example, you can adjust the volume of a video directly from the Notifications window while continuing to watch the video.

We developed this app because we often find it hard to use the hardware volume button on a tablet, depending on its orientation and how we have it set up in the stand. We hope you find it useful too!

Note: This app will only control media volume. In general, media volume includes music, video, and game sounds.

To use: Tap on the app icon and select Activate. This will put the volume control into the Notifications window. On the status bar, tap on the time or pull down the Notifications window to access the volume control.

To close: Tap on the app icon and select Deactivate.

Important:
• This app does NOT have any ads. If you are seeing ads in your Notifications window, then they are being put there by a different app.
• Make sure that a task killer or other phone/battery/memory manager app isn't killing Volume in Notification or preventing it from running at startup.
• If the volume control does not display in the Notifications window, make sure that notifications are turned on for your device under Settings > Apps > Volume in Notification > Show notifications (check the box). Note: This setting is available for Android 4.1 and up only.
On Android 5.0+, to hide the volume control on your lock screen, you must:
1) In Volume in Notification, check "Hide on lock screen"
2) On your device, set a screen lock such as a PIN or password
3) On your device, hide sensitive content under Settings > Sound & notification > When device is locked > Hide sensitive notification content
To hide the status bar icon:
1) For Android 5.0+, turn "Priority" OFF under device Settings > Sound & notification > App notifications > Volume in Notification > Priority
2) In Volume in Notification, set the priority level to "Min" and tap "Activate"
• Tapping the Mute button will allow you to mute and unmute the volume.
• It's not possible to put a sliding volume bar in the Notifications window.

Ty for adding themes! Make logo for app to display instead of website! Make separate app that acts as a notification power button to shut off the screen, restart or power off please! Great app guys...10 out of 10!

5 stars for adding the light theme

Exactly what i needed. Why camt my galaxy s6 just volume controls for media, ring tone and the rest when the volume rocker is pressed. Since a slider can't be made would it be possible to make multiple smaller buttons set at different levels for qui k adjustment? Doesn't have to be too accurate, say, 10% 25% 50% 75% 100%.

W70%
by W####:

Does what it says and does it perfectly. Anybody saying different is either mistaken, not understanding English well, or just out and out disgustingly rude. Looking at you Richard Engler. Go away.

K70%
by K####:

I love this app. The only thing it's missing is the ability to switch off the app icon in the notification status bar. Other similar apps allow you to do that. I find the always there sound icon (even when I'm not listening to anything) a bit annoying.

by D####:

My volume up physical button no longer works so this is a godsend. Thank you! Only thing that could make this better for me would be to have the buttons appear on the lock screen like my media player controls do.

D70%
by D####:

Just what I was looking for. Saves fussing with the buttons on the side of my tablet and lets me concentrate on what I'm doing. I'd like to see the option for finer adjustment than 7%, but it's extremely useful.

Amazing. After my volume buttons got spoilt (seriously Lenovo has to do something about their tabs) this has done exactly what I want. Thank you so much

D70%

I just started today using it and l love it. All I have to do is hit the wake button and there is the volume control. Especially convenient if your using Pandora (via bluetooth) in the car and the volume is too low.

D70%
by D####:

I accidentally broke my volume button, this app helps me a lot! Thank you!

L70%
by L####:

Up/down buttons seen like a waste of space (volume buttons will change active sound and give menu for changing other sound). Would be nice if mute could mute all sounds (or there was an all button).

D70%
by D####:

Exactly what I want!!. Thanks guys for your wonderful app. I was having problems with my phone's volume hardware but you've solved my head ache.

Q70%
by Q####:

Very convenient and adjusts only the Media volume which is the only volume I ever change and great mute button. No battery drain and small size. Looks great in notification window. You just enhanced my phone experience!

D70%
by D####:

The issue is that the volume keeps changing randomly I.e. from low to high and vice versa. Eg : Volume is 20% *turns off screen* *turns back on* volume is 60%. Another one is "On app drawer volume is 33% goes to YouTube volume becomes 67%. This is REALLY annoying. Once the volume went to a 100% randomly and just scared the f*** outta me. Please try making the volume to not change randomly at any point of time on its OWN. That'd be great.

D70%
by D####:

THANK YOU SO MUCH I NEEDED THIS!! SINCE my volume button is jammed

B70%
by B####:

5 stars, however... I wish it were a slider or we could decide the increments at which the volume goes up. Other than that, perfect.

V70%

I think it's a prank... Doesn't works...my phone shows full volume n this worst shows zero volume ..aathooo

D70%

This app does exactly what it is meant to do, and does an amazing job at it. They take feedback actively and is helpful. great thing!

Q70%
by Q####:

Allows me to toggle media volume effortlessly. This is precisely why I love the open architecture of Android - so I can enjoy simple but efficient apps such as this. If I had to add a wish list item in the future it would be a slider option. 5 Stars.

D70%

I love this app! Does exactly what I need since I can't easily get to media volume. Love it. Thank you Jason!

I didn't know why you guys updated , I never had issues with this app

U70%
by U####:

Just an features request, if you can manage volume buttons only show when music or any related app is running, if no music or audio related app is running then volume buttons will hide that will b perfect because without any use volume buttons r showing in lock screen. Thanks.

D70%
by D####:

This is amazing, very useful. I love using it. From now on I don't have to touch the physical volume control button any more. It deserves to be recommended it to everyone who wants to keep his or her volume button alive

D70%

Well done! Been using this for a great while on my phone as well as my tablet, works flawlessly. If this was a paid app, I'd definitely pay for it.

D70%

It's very simple like it suppose to do but you need to use material design to make it good looking like another notification app

D70%
by D####:

as i use my smartphone as (internet)Radio i was searching for this kind of app... well in combination with Air(Mirror/Droid) i am now able to remotely control the volume of my sound system!!! OMG ty!!!

New Android 7 released 6 months ago. App still doesn't use the default color theme from notification pull down(material light), looks like an eye sore(big black rectangle) but does the job.

Please, add an option to set volume to predefined level with one click.
