NissanConnect for Android
2016 brand new Rouge, and Samsung S7 edge you think everything will be great! When i bought my vehicle they asked me what kind of phone I had, oh no problem said the sales men, you are good. App started having issues the next day. When back to deal who kept it for a week and did a complete system update and contacted Nissan corporate. According to Nissan thier app is currently limited and doesn't work on all phones, buyer beware. Please wait a year or so for updates to car software. Seriously!
So much for the additional apps that were coming soon. The app hasn't seen an update in over a year. Application saw support for about two months after release. Connectivity is very spotty, connecting about 1 in 10 times. This is with a Galaxy S6 edge, then an S7 edge and now a Pixel XL. Wife's iPhone 6 plus and 7 plus would rarely work either. Bluetooth works perfectly fine in the car for everything else but the app. Applications work decently well in the car screen when it does actually connect. Rogue SL
Great app if it worked. I own a 2015 Altima S that i purchased 4 months ago brand new. The app worked for me for two weeks then although im connected and the app is running, says im disconnected. Better fix Nissan, before you lose a lot more loyal customers like this one.
I don't have the issues some obviously do, mine works and it's fairly useful. Google Search, trip advisor are OK, Eurosport is poor tbh. Haven't installed twitter or facebook. How about some more useful apps? Live traffic e.g. waze, tomtom. A weather app with radar and warnings would be cool. A decent news & sport app wouldn't go amiss either. A bit more effort from Nissan , if you can't be arsed let us install Android car!
I feel ripped off especially after spending the amount of money I have for a new 2015 Altima with subpar technology. I am saddened that this will only work with Facebook and Pandora. I am tempted to replace this system with a 7" tablet that retails around $119. Very few functionality!
I was debating if I should install the app after seeing all the reviews. I have to say that I bought a new 2015 Rogue and have not had one issue with the app or connecting it to the car. I stream pandora all the time and play saved music over the bluetooth connection all the time. I am not sure if it makes a difference that I have the gps and upgraded technology package or not. I would recommend this app based on my experience with it.
I bought a 2016 maxima. The only app available as of June 2016 is Google search. That's concerning as its been a year since they came out. I would not recommend anyone buy one until this is resolved. There is no timetable or commitment for additional apps. Makes me think there is something wrong with the hardware in these systems.
This app sucks and nissan is very misleading about its functions. Read up on ALL of its "features," if you have a nissan that has navigation then maybe it's slightly worth your time. I don't understand why nissan would create an inferior app over just collaborating with/making their cars compatible with android auto or apple carplay.
This android app for my LG does not work with my new 2017 Nissan Maxima SL. Nissan rep says I do not have NissanConnect on my infotainment system. Then why does the nice Nissan Connect logo greet me each time I fire up the infotainment system? I wanted to play IHeartRadio but nooooo. I do get texts and all that crap however. Just no extra bells and whistles that this app might provide.
Not happy with Nissan Connect...a new 2016 Maxima and the only app that connects is Google even though my phone has Pandora, Trip Advisor and others on it. Needs more development before it was put on this model car. Very disappointed!
This completely baffles me. I spend over 30k on a car and am told it only has Google search. Yet cars that cost substantially less have the other apps. What a joke Nissan. What moron thought removing those features from your higher end car models was a great idea? So this app is useless.
Total load of bull. I own a brand new 2016 maxima, and all the connected apps are a total joke. Boarder line false advertising actually. Last nissan I, or any one in my family will buy. Cant even remote start from a phone. What a joke.
2015 Nissan Xtrail. Connected only once in one year. Even had the unit replaced still nothing. App stays at best(if im lucky) in yellow connecting mode! And to think that the connect system was one of the big selling points for me. What a complete disappointment!
Lost hope for this app. I just wish more apps were supported, even on base models. Facebook is useless (really, checking in from the car?). Having notifications from apps that people actually use (Whatsapp, Hangout, iMessage, Skype) would be a start. Events and arriving times from clould based calendaring (Google calendar for example). Support for Waze notifications and alert. Spotify, Google Music, Apple Music... Nissan: just get rid of it, and provide Android Auto instead.
It took forever to get it to work in my 2014 Altima, got a new phone, I could log in but it would say not connected, no apps of course. The app did not recognize my vin number. I couldn't sign in online would not give me a country to select. I have been dealing with horrible app for almost 2 yrs. If I could give it negative 5 stars I would.
Hopefully you didn't buy your new car thinking how cool and useful this app would be like I did. If I said it works 10% of the time, I would be being generous. Nissan.... are you listening? Half a million people and you have a 2.5 star rating. How is this not a priority to you guys?
Useless. I can get the same apps on my smartphone already. Why should I use Nissan's app as a middleman? To make this app useful, it needs ability to manage GPS routes and destinations so I don't have to input everything a second time in the car. This is the only benefit that would make make this app worthwhile.
This app has very limited features making it almost useless. Available apps for the dashboard are less than 5 and Google search app doesn't do job well. Can't event transfer address from phone to Nissan's navigation or Google app so not sure what's the point of it. You're forced to use this app before you can connect Bluetooth for music and not to mention that app requires an account with Nissan that requires VIN and owner info. So much of unnecessary hassle that Nissan could have easily avoided.
The app is simple in its purpose. But the execution is not so great. I use the app just for controlling Pandora. It worked great on my old phone, but i recently upgraded to a new phone and all I have is trouble. I've sent aln email to the developer. Hopefully things get sorted out quickly.
This app is so non user friendly. Way too many hoops to jump through to get it to work and when everything is done, it still doesn't work. I think you better get hire a professional team to program this app from ground up.
It never connects anymore. It worked great when i first purchased my Nissan (11/15) and about 4 months ago it would only work 50% of the time. Now, I don't even bother trying to use it anymore because it never works. This app needs an overhaul, immediately! I really did like the app when it actually worked.
Doesnt work with my phone/car. I have a s5neo and a 14 plate note e12 with a connect v2. Even tho phone is paired and working the app always says its not connected. Got all tethering opinions enabled on the phone but no joy. Even local dealers carnt get it to work.
If you like wasting your time on pointless technology, then this app is for you. While Nissan does want their drivers to be safe on the road, they won't let you connect to the app while driving for the fear of distracted driving. There's a passenger helping me, okay Nissan? Get it together and fix this awful app.
I've been looking for an app that's useless to just take up space on my phone and I found it. With this app and I can do many useless things like, stare at it for hours while it tries to connect to my car with no luck. Overall this is the top useless app of all time and I'm glad I have it.
The app says that all you need is: "1. A compatible and equipped Nissan vehicle registered and located within supported countries 2. A compatible smartphone with a data plan 3. An active NissanConnect subscription." Yeah well I have 1 & 2 sorted, I have paired and unpaired the device with MYCAR, installed & uninstalled the app from my smartphone, yet this crappy app will not activate. When the phone is in the car and paired via bluetooth, there is no NissanConnect dashboard on the car's screen. FIX THIS!
Hugely disappointing app. In Ireland the only vaguely useful app is Google Search, which has recently stopped returning results it managed to find a few months ago. Google Send to Car is not available either for reasons that nobody seems to either know, or be willing to say why. Seriously, Nissan, just look at the sheer number of 1 star reviews here. Sack whoever wrote this rubbish, and start all over again, or preferably just put Android Auto on the Connect head-units and be done with it.
This app is downright terrible. There isn't much about it that is not painful. It connects intermittently, doesn't display or connect with apps properly and hasn't been updated in 7 months. Don't waste your time. The space you'll save on your phone not downloading this is much more valuable.
Just bought a 2016 Murano Platinum and can only use the Google search app and the Travel advisor from the navigation radio. Traded in my 2012 Tacoma that had a full app suite with Pandora, I heart, and a full list of others that I could access through the touch screen. If I would have known there was no true app suite I would have probably kept my truck. Straight garbage!
It is brilliant when it works especially as the search function with your phone connected is way better than the sat nav search in your car, but everytime I want to use it I've to uninstall and reinstall the app. Getting a bit tiresome now especially if I've forgotten to do it all before I go on a journey.
2016 Nissan Maxima Platinum. Everything is connected, but no apps show up in my car. The only thing I see is the Google search engine.
Still have significant issues with connecting to Pandora or other aps, have taken to just connecting with Bluetooth and using aps on the phone . Hopefully this will be fixed at some point
It only connects when it wants to. Always have to update by uninstalling and then installing. I not very happy. Must be defected. 2015 new Juke.
I had issues registering my vin on the app for my 2016 Nissan Rogue. Went on my computer, still unable to add. Called customer support and they fixed it quickly (on hold 15 minutes before someone came on to assist). He advised me to log out if the app and back in, which made it sync with no issues. Looking forward to more apps catching on and creating automobile versions, namely WAZE.
Shows disconnected even though my phone (Samsung Galaxy S6) is connected to the car (Nissan Note 2016). Also log in details are not recognised on the app but are valid via the main website. Really wanted this to work as cool idea and functions.
Does not connect to my car. 2014 altima and using the samsung s6. Stopped working months ago so I upgraded my phone thinking that was the issue and it still does not work..... what is the point?
2014 Altima. This app still needs a lot of work. The last update fixed Pandora but connectivity problems are still king. With full signal strength on my phone and streaming Pandora the song info on the stereo doesn't advance with the songs. If I try to skip, thumbs up or down the stereo shows loading and never stops. I have to force stop the app to get it to work. The Bluetooth connection works every time.
Turn on any of the apps and nothing shows on the car as it doesn't work. It's like buying from a fraud, they talk it up and it looks the part until you try to use it and nothing! Nothing works. Why download the app why connect your phone your just wasting your time because once your done your right back to where you started. So save your time and don't waste the effort.
With no help from the useless troubleshooting guide I've finally got my s6 to connect. Had to log out of the app, connect through Bluetooth to car, then log back into the app. Apps finally available.
I downloaded the app, entered the VIN number and the app would not recognized the VIN number. I then called customer support. They entered the number for me and it was recognized on the web version. Thinking it would now work in the app fine, so I tried it. No. It gives me this error 20033. Give up. This thing is no good. Just used my android phone with bluetooth as I always do. Bottom line, these are car companies. Stick to making vehicles. Let Google or Apple handle the technology/infotainment. Get Android Auto in your vehicles and think of customer experience and satisfaction. Nice car with a screwed up infotainment.

Barring mastery if "app" partnerships, I think availability of other streaming services is well deserved. Integration w/ Spotify would be great. Alternatively, creating a controlled stage/sandbox for users to customize their driving experience would be great. NissanConnect is only good for that random person who relies on both iHearRadio and Pandora and TripAdvisor (while I'm driving?)
