Nirvana for GTD® for Android
This could become a really nice app but it's not flawless yet. Some things don't work (empty trash for example, or some tags don't appear after being selected, buttons disappear,... ) and the app doesn't respond to every tap you make. Won't use it for now until the user experience is better.
Alas, I am unable carry on with Nirvana, but it's a shame really. It's crying out for a widget, for the inbox at least and, dare I say it, some sort of notification system (the GTD gods will disapprove, I know) for those that need one. I get the impression that the focus is almost entirely on iPhone etc and with no Android update since May things don't look set to change. It's a shame, because apart from the above, I found it the most intuitive task manager I've found yet and I'll keep an eye on it.
I've been a Nirvana Pro user since September 7, 2013. I use Nirvana every day, including weekends. Nirvana is always visible in one of my pinned browser tabs, or an entire monitor is dedicated to its use. I use Nirvana on my Android phone. I use Nirvana on my Android tablet. I'm pretty sure my entire life would collapse into a heap of rubble if the service were unavailable or discontinued. I've tried the others, and they fail dismally within the GTD context.
UPDATE 28Nov2016: downgrading from 5star to 1star, in spite of repeated reminders the developer is not looking at calendar integration in Android, as a result u need to maintain separate calendar tracker, also somehow I get feeling that developer is more obsessed with the iPhone version where anyway omnifocus rules, Nirvana USP is android, not sure why trying to b a "mee too" app on Apple and compete with omnifocus, u can't win that anyday...(Pls focus on Android where there is no competition from omni)
One of the biggest reasons I've wanted to keep my Apple devices was Omnifocus. I have finally found a good looking app that fulfills the large majority of Omnifocus' functions, which is good enough for me. Thank the flying spaghetti monster for this app.
This app could have been so great. A really nice, simple user interface, slick design ...... and all completely ruined by a lack of subfolders. It just makes it IMPOSSIBLE to organise anything.
It asked to install Crosswalk Runtime first, so I do as it said. But then when I start your app (after installing Crosswalk, ofc), it stuck at tutorials/introduction. I can't swipe or close it. And if you ask about my signal, it was good and I even try it on wifi. Fix it please.
I've tried several other ways at implementing gtd including the secret weapon and todoist. This is the easiest and most convenient way for me with a speedy setup. It does everything I could want and the web app is awesome too. I usually don't bother reviewing apps, but this one was too awesome to not review. Great job! Edit: their support team is also fantastic.
I've tried all gtd software on the market, even a self hosted wiki server & hours setting up rtm, evernote and onenote. This knocks them all out of the park, simple enough not to find organising a project itself, and still aesthetically pleasing.
Excellent app, but I've found one serious issue: when I make "new action" if I accidentally press the phone's back key it discards everything straight away. Why not add prompt to save it (like when you press the "X" button or better to save it anyway.
Update 3/5/16: I can now long press the + icon to quickly add tasks to the Inbox. The swipe-right-from-left-edge to see the menu remains buggy; sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I'm still waiting for the ability to add tasks to top of list. "My Review: My primary use of the app is for managing my school assignments using the Project list. I set due dates and choose what actions I need to take. Nice clean design."
This is the gtd app I've been trying to find for years! It's simple, intuitive, and just works the way I need it to. No bugs and pro is totally worth the money.
The Android and web versions of this app are pretty fluid and aesthetically pleasing. However a launcher widget and notifications are essential for an app like this. I would buy this app if it came with those. Nirvana and the GTD workflow have already begun to improve my productivity in a few weeks.
This is a very good app and helpful. Sync does not work on Android N though. On iOS 10.1.2 it keeps asking me to login whenever app is launched. Please fix it.
Best GTD app/service on the market. You use it, it doesn't use you like some of the other tools out there. Well thought out features. Good looking UI. Try it.
For GTD there is nothing like it, I have been through most from Asana to Todoist with RTM in the Middle. If you want a great GTD software, give this a go, you wnt be dissapointed.
A great idea but easily one of the worst apps I have ever used. The web app is fine but this piece of garbage hasn't been updated in a year and it shows. It is incredibly mindbogglingly slow, unresponsive, inaccurate to where I touch, drags instead of scrolling on an almost guaranteed basis, glitches out really hard every time I use it with things like text being overwritten as I type with random gibberish or the screen being half visible, and worst of all, every single time I change my focus to another app and come back to Nirvana, I have to reauthenticate and go through the grueling process of getting back to where I was after what seems like a decade. The developers clearly don't care and spend more of their time posting cringey memes on their blog and updating the iPhone version, which I'm sure isn't much better with how incompetent they are at coding such an incredible simple app. I pay for the premium account because the web version is fine and it's the only GTD task manager worth anything besides the superior omnifocus, which ironically is iPhone only so I have no idea why they aren't focusing on Android instead of iPhone. Disappointing that my money isn't going anywhere useful.
A quick way to inbox things without opening the app entirely would be a fantastic addition. Beyond that, it's great.
While I can imagine that people who don't need anything more will like this app for its clean looks and despite its shortcomings, this app doesn't beat the functionality of what I regard as the most functional GTD app on Android: MLO (My Life Organised).
I have LITERALLY tried over a dozen to do apps in the last month and have finally found a keeper with Nirvana. Everyone likes to work in different ways, if you're looking for something quick and easy to use with sync capabilities to a desktop/laptop then look no further. This is the best to do app out there, and it even has really helpful documentation too! I'd give it 5 stars if the app was updated more recently then May 2016. I don't want to start using an app that won't be getting anymore updates.
Missing some key features, such as reminders and integrations (Evernote, Dropbox, GDrive, Outlook, etc.). But it's still better than any others that I've tried.
Nice UI by the way.
So bought the year subscription.
Doesn't sync well with web version. New items created on the web sync fine. However, completed items do not get checked off of the mobile device when checked off from the web.
And I cannot change it
Best todo app I use it with paid account for years, but redesigned version is too slow compare the old one :-(
Super nice app, but it desperately needs a few widgets like an "add task" button and a task window. Overall, really like it.
I use this app every day to organize almost every aspect of my life! Some occasional bugs, but worth it. I just wish you could see a calendar view.
Guys, are you planning to add reminder feature and an ability to share lists & tasks with other Nirvana users? Thanks
It took me a while to get in the habit of using this app and the GTD methodology, but I just kept at it and for the first time I feel like I'm on top of things at work.
Meets the way I want to think about keeping track of things. Glad i found it.
Отличное приложение! Перепробовал для реализации GTD Wunderlist, AnyDo и даже Maxdone от Максима Дорофеева. Но эта реально лучшая. Русского варианта нет. Но учите английский, раз хотите жить в ногу со временем!
Using the pro feature, well worth the money spent... No regrets.. Almost at par with omnifocus.. For support contact developer on Twitter, he responds quickly... But U need to add reminder pop up function (date and time specific) this is a critical feature that's missing ; please do this at the earliest
Surprisingly, this seems to be the only Android app designed for GTD (as opposed to to-do apps that give you labels and require you to design a system with them). It's not the most polished app (no Material Design or notifications, for example), but it's certainly very usable. Recommended.
I've tried several other ways at implementing gtd including the secret weapon and todoist. This is the easiest and most convenient way for me with a speedy setup. It does everything I could want and the web app is awesome too. I usually don't bother reviewing apps, but this one was too awesome to not review. Great job guys!
Free app gave me a chance to personally test the app. I immediately fell in love with projects and the ease of moving tasks up or down the list. I upgraded to Pro because I wanted unlimited projects and devices. Money well spent. So much value.
Widget Please! I truly like the Android app but I still think that it needs a bit more polish :) Well done guys, I'm with you for about 3 years now and I love your work. It makes my day a lot more easy.
Feature-wise, it may seems behind the competition. But what implemented are executed in a more polish and intuitive way.
I use this everyday. I also use Evernote for storing notes. I will give 5 stars if you include Evernote integration like other GTD apps.

Nirvana has helped organize the things I need to do into logical buckets with some nice perks like setting effort level or time requirements. I liked it enough to buy a year sub but after some daily use, there are definitely things I want/need that don't exist yet and make me wonder if I made the right choice for me. Lack of push notifications or reminders of deadlines is the biggest issue for me as a forgetful person. Widgets would also be incredibly useful. Otherwise a solid app.
