There is an app for iOS called Divvy. It uses the phone camera to scan a receipt and create itemized bills for each person. It's been very popular for a number of years. It does not apparently exist for Android. This app is using the other app's name, and does not offer the same functionality. EDIT: It would appear THIS app actually came first? And this app hasn't been updated since 2012. But it's now showing up in searches because of the popularity of the iOS app. They are not the same.

I've been needing an app like this for quite some time, and now my prayers have been answered. My co-workers and I are constantly buying groupon and living social deals for local restaurants here in the city and then when it comes time to split the bill, we're all derping over what each person owes. This app takes care of all that for us. Such a simple idea and yet no one has thought of this until now, and Divvy does it right. Well done!
