About Connect to S800c
Connect to S800c enables you to quickly and easily transfer images from a Nikon COOLPIX S800c digital camera to a smart device (smartphone or tablet) running Android via wireless connection. You can then use other apps to upload your photos to social networking sites, attach them to e-mails, etc.
■ Functions
‒ Connects an Android device to a Nikon COOLPIX S800c digital camera via Wi-Fi®.
‒ Enables thumbnail display of photos in the Nikon COOLPIX S800c digital camera.
‒ Enables transfer (copying) of photos from the Nikon COOLPIX S800c digital camera to the Android device.
‒ Facilitates initial setup for communicating with Upload to smart device application inside the camera. Subsequent connections are automatic.
‒ As well as transferring photos at their original size, Connect to S800c enables reducing images to either 2-megapixel or VGA size for transfer.
■ Notes
‒ Connect to S800c is only for use with the Nikon COOLPIX S800c digital camera.
‒ Video files can also be transferred; however, for playback the Android device must meet certain specification criteria.
‒ Images cannot be transferred via USB cable.
‒ It is recommended that the Android device has a memory card installed.
‒ If a PIN-entry dialog is not displayed in easy connection mode, retry after using the S800c SSID to connect via the smart device Wi-Fi settings dialog.
‒ Under certain conditions, Connect to S800c may not run or operation may be unstable even with a compatible version of the operating system.
‒ Minimum display resolution is WVGA (800 x 480 pixels).
‒ Transfer speed may vary depending on the type of device and the surrounding environment.
‒ Compliance with wireless regulations means that photos may be transferred over distances no greater than 10 to 15 meters. Transfer range may be reduced by poor signal conditions and objects that interfere with transmission.
‒ Do not use this software on aircraft or in hospitals, etc., where wireless communications are restricted.

Horrible! Not everyone wants their pics all over facebook. The connect S800c doesn't work.... the camera won't talk to my smartphone even though it shows that everything is a "go". I continue to get the message " Can't complete setup" on the camera.

App wouldn't load on my tablet nor my phone. Absolutely idiotic not to allow direct transfer to a computer via USB. How do I get my photos off this phone and onto my computer? I'm glad this camera was borrowed. I'll certainly not waste my money on a Nikon.

my device is Android Jellybean, so I can use this application with my camera and my device. I can transferred pictured and movie.. But with another device, Android Lollypop, always force closed. I suggest to upgrade this application not only for jellybean user. thanks..

The WORST app I've tried in my 6 years of smartphone use. Has never worked. Galaxy note3 my sisters s4 and ipod 5 nothing. Id rather sit in a closet with a rubix cube. Complete garbadge. My canon power shot works with its app seamlessly. At.least it was free.

It works, but it's mostly useless. The s800c can upload to the net anyway. Cheers for the option though, I suppose.....hope you didn't spend to much time developing something that probably gets used very little

SO excited about a droid cam I could link to, then snap a pic from my phone! Done setting the timer & rushing into a pic. Between researching cameras & finding a fair price on an S800c I wasted 2 months + the cost of the camera & an AC/DC batt chrger, extra batteries, screen film, case, tripod, & 64g sd card. I'm VERY invested! First, the $50 card didn't work (over 32g). How modern & hi-tech! Whatever. Still cool I have a cam controlled by my Motorola MOTO X (made by Google so it's best designed for Android, running latest version). I installed S800c app, hit open & got an error mssg! I un/reinstalled it repeatedly w/ same result.I wrote Nikon cust svc, who dodged the issue, sending an email (no reply address so end of discussion F U!) w/ a link to firmware for the cam & nothing concerning the app I wrote about! It's unethical to leave people who buy your product stuck! 810 app opens fine! Guess it's "if we don't get it right the 1st time, cut our losses & move to the next 1"? Well I don't have $ for the next 1! FIX THIS APP so my 800 does what YOU said it would! NIKON OWES US ALL A FIXED APP or a new S810c camera! I hope they unexpectedly go bankrupt in 2014! #### 'em! :-(

Crashed on start every time. Uninstalled/reinstalled and got the same results. More & more Nixon products & software fail to deliver.

Pity it's a bit "iffy" connecting to smartphones et al. As I'm an old Nikon user, I still prefer connecting directly to PC via cable. Cannot figure why others appear to have issues connecting this way. Just turn on device, connect USB cable then find it in "My Computer" or such. Easy. As for the those who now refuse to further purchase products from a top end manufacturer because the App does not work well with their "Smart Devices", I say, for shame...... .......if you want photocopies - buy a Canon ..... if you want to watch TV - buy a Sony ...... if you want to photograph - you must first own a Nikon ......
