Nights Keeper (do not disturb) for Android
Rated a 5 prior to Android 5.x update. Then alarms didn't function while running. It defeated the main purpose of the app., unless you don't need an alarm set. It was a perfect app. prior to that. Then researched and found that there is now a "priority" mode in sounds/notifications that could be set, and now alarms function. Fairly complicated for such an everyday task!? But it does work now!
When the profile turns off st the ending time, my notifications don't go back to normal. They stay silent. I've tried to fix it but it still does it. It started doing it with the newest update. Never had this issue before. Please fix. And I'll rate it better.
So far so good. I've used it for choir rehearsal as well as over night and it hasn't failed yet. Using it for one week. Using this for a period of time and it's starting to let notification sounds come through. Not cool when the whole idea of the app is to give you periods of silence
Wish it had auto sync on multiple devices so people that have work/sleep schedules change weekly it syncs between them. Big pain in the butt having to update multiple devices. Works on Samsung s7 edge.
Only just scrapes in with okay. You can allow certain people to contact you, through the white light settings, but nobody can be nominated to text. As a shift worker being able to be gotten hold of is important, well we all may need to be contacted regardless of when we work. Doubt if I'll keep this app long
Doesn't work. I am a fitness instructor and use my phone to play my music in class. My music kept shutting off and being interrupted by phone calls. Made me look very unprofessional. Can't believe I paid money for this.
I previously gave it 5* because it was perfect. Now it's useless. Don't know what they've done to it but it no longer works a it should. It doesn't come on when it should only starting when I go into the app. Then it doesn't end at the set time. I open it maybe an hour after the end time when I've realised it was still active and it asks if I want to dismiss it early!
I tried this application to replace CritiCall, because it stopped working for me (don't know why, exactly). Although it's activating fine (CritiCall wasn't), this application could be more straightforward regarding descriptions. I don't know what "Normal Mode" is, for example. I just want it to change my phone to silent in a determined time and, a few hours later, turn it back to vibrate only. Is this what "Normal Mode" does? It's not clear to me. So, I suggest the developer to tweak the user interface a little more, so the user won't have to keep doing trial and error in order to understand what the software can or cannot do.
Several times have missed calls as a result of alarms not being switched back on automatically.. Easy to switch alarms on again once you know to check they might not have been automatically turned back on.
Not functioning correctly. Sometimes it would work others not. Besides that the phone was going into Do Not Disturb mode at random times of the day. Use at own risk :(
Wonderfull app. Could you maybe add a function to lrt one choose what it can shud down or do to help save battery life when power gets low. Then one uses only your app and not miltipal apps.
Widget does not work properly. When selected it brings up a confirmation screen as expected. But if the 'cancel' button is now selected , it goes into silent mode regardless instead of cancelling the operation.
I've never had an app have such a drag on system performance. As soon as I activated manual do not disturb mode my whole system came to a crawl as if it was being hijacked by the app.
After I've added it to the exceptions of stamina mode on my smartphone(as it was suggested by the app), it just started eating the battery, so it's now lasting twice less than it used to. And before the last update it wasn't conflicting with alarm clock, but now it silences the alarm, so I almost overslept the job for a few times befo I figured out what's going on. What I've paid my money for? This pain in the ass app?
Does exactly as advertised. Blocks all calls and notification noises while allowing me to whitelist some important numbers so I still hear those numbers ring. Grateful for the app!
Even though I set the timer to be between 22-07 it keeps being on after 07. I have to dismiss it after. What happened? It worked so fine before!
This product intercepts and hijacks sms's during silent time. There is no way to turn this annoying feature off! The developer is not even aware of it.
The premium version gives you the ability to set many different profiles. This app saves me a lot of hassle.
This app lets me sleep at night knowing I won't be bothered by sales calls but I will get a call from people important to me. It also let's me reduce the volume on the ringtone and brightness of tree screen to avoid asking my partner. Works great!
Brilliant App I've been using it for over 2 years on my Sony Xperia and have never had a problem with it. It just does what it's supposed to. Easy to set up, works unobtrusively in the background. Great work, thanks.
Was an excellent app to control your phone, but now with Android 6 it does not turn on and off at the scheduled times it must be used manually. (Honor X5)
Amazing app. Have weird sleep hours and this makes sure I get quiet I need to sleep but also makes it so I don't miss an important call.
I haven't tried many apps like this from the Google Play. It's a pretty good replacement for the sleeping & do not disturb end of the Assist app I used to have on my Moto e, with some additional options. Easy to use, & dies whatis supposed to. Also for those of us on Jellybean or below, it's better than BLOCKING numbers during a time period instead of just silencing, and is obviously better than NOTHING on pre-Jelly Bean OS. Other than the basic function of Do Not Disturb & the White List, additional bells & whistles are behind a paywall. But it's got all I need for free.
I have been using nights keeper for about a month now and love it. I recently got rid of my home phone and we are the main Caregivers for both my mother and my husband's mother and we needed a way to have a phone throughout the night without hearing all the beeps and notifications of our cell phones. This app has met that need fabulously. It's super easy to use and gives lots of options for what can come through and what needs to be blocked.
Really very, very, helpful at screening out the noise without becoming completely unavailable. Thanks so much!
The main reason I got this was because the "Do Not Disturb" feature that is built in to my phone doesn't block Skype calls. Guess what? This app DOESN'T BLOCK SKYPE CALLS either, even when you check the "Mute Media Sounds"! You can't get your alarms, but you still get Skype calls. Fix it, guys!
I work nights. This is just what I needed to control my calls while I sleep.
Sometimes doesn't activate based on the timing profile for some reason. Have to manually load the app for it to register that the device is supposed to be under a "silent" profile. Doesn't always happen. Can't rate higher solely based on this bug.
Does exactly what it says, allows automatically turn notifications on or of and still allow calls from your selected contacts, have used this for over 6 months, no problems, just have to remember to alter times if you need phone to ring after your normal sleep times .
Set for do not disturb mode. Still lets all calls ring through. Shows them on blocked list. Uninstalling.
Date 6-2017: Using Free Version on Galaxy S3 for last 9 months. Works flawlessly for muting txts & calls at night. Has a whitelist which I have not had need to test. Good app.
Best app I have found for making sure I have the peace and quiet I require at any given time. I would rate this app well above 5, but I will have to give it the full positive rating it deserves. Great to see the outcome of the recent update and wish the dev the best for the future.
I went from note 3 to the galaxy s8 and now I don't have the option for priority mode. It only has two options silent and vibrate. I've used this app for a few years now and with the phone upgrade it no longer works. I even paid to see if that was the problem and no it wasn't.
Rubbish has full priority access and every time you load it asks for it again and it still doesn't work, supposed to be silent from 11/7 am useless app don't bother .
Keeps those pesky midnight callers away. Love this App.
Works well but when I turn it on I keep getting the pop up asking if I want to dismiss it. I get him so many times. How do I stop that?
It sometimes doesn't turn on like it is programmed by profile set up to do. Disappointing.
It's a great app. I only wanted to have more than one profile active in the free version. Ok. Maybe I should pay, its worth it.
Kept getting message if unwanted to end profile after hours when I would use phone. Very annoying, had to delete.

Having a problem, but no response from developer, please sort out and I will restore my original rating! (Brilliant App - works really well on Android 5.1.1, having found that other apps I tried did not work, but Nights Keeper did exactly what I wanted. It is important to follow the developers instructions, so take time to understand how they work. Have already purchased the Pro version. Great work from the developer for a well designed, functional and professional looking app, with excellent support).
