Used for first time yesterday and the app in itself was fine, but was gobsmacked to see the app had burned through 2.37GB of cellular data!

by O####:

Simply does not work

N70%
by N####:

Seems to have stopped working after I submitted first two counts. Since then nothing appears on the map and the type of bee I've recorded doesn't show as having been seen on the ID page. Are we only supposed to enter a couple of counts?

N70%
by N####:

Android: sadly unusable. Was hoping for help identifying bees so I could contribute towards the bee count. Feeling buzzed off :-(.

by L####:

Nice idea but unfortunately this app kills my phone (Moto G3, 2 GB RAM) and is almost unusable

N70%
by N####:

Works OK on my phone and easy to use BUT only useful in towns etc. Nowhere to log sightings in the countryside!

Very informative and succinct spotting tool. Great for learning more about bees

A great way to get out of the house and have some fun!

Installed it but can't get past registration page so useless to me

Great app just so lmformativ

I can't get this to work this year (have used it in previous years). I am using an Android phone, when I start the app I choose to submit a siting, then there is no way to skip the 'add a photo' section, and when I do that, and add a photo, either by taking one, or by choosing one from my phone, then there is no option other than 'Back'.

Got stuck mid-installation, can't seem to do anything about it. Android phone.

N70%

Really interesting and useful.

N70%
by N####:

Even tho survey is over, why render the app useless? Why not have the pics of the different species etc still up. Example the white tailed bumblebee information page could still be up as could all the informative bee pages!!!!

N70%
by N####:

It's a good app and for anyone interested, it starts again this year (19th May, 2017), so head over to Friends of the Earth and register.

Doesn't work... I really hoped it would help me identify a bee

Top idea .. I have three nests out back of house, two new this year. So impossible to record what appears to be maybe 12,000 bee's a day with this. Be good to be able to record nest locations and also combine that data with current options ;) until then I give up !

Q70%
by Q####:

Brilliant idea, but shaky execution. For example, if you want to record a sighting, the list of bees is a mishmash of about 4 or 5 common bumblebees and the rest of the list comprises of what I see as being ultra-rare ones! It would've made more sense to me to start the list with the 10 or so most common bumblebees whilst keeping honey bees etc separated by a small page break or title heading. Also, according to the pretty comprehensive info I've received from the Bumblebee Conservation Trust, your drawing of a white - tailed bumblebee actually shows a garden bumblebee or maybe a heath bumblebee. Not very user-friendly even though the intentions behind this app are laudable.

L70%
by L####:

I find I can't recognise bee types quickly enough - the app gives no guidance on how to distinguish bee types or even which ones are more likely in a particular setting. Great if you're already an expert!

X70%
by X####:

The only thing I'd l like to change is to have an 'unknown bee' option for if you didn't quite have enough time to identify which type of bee you saw.

Installed app. Nothing Happened! Useless

Q70%

Excellent quality photos from the camera on this app. We need an app like this for all species.

The timed sighting is a good idea, but what do you do if you don't have the flowers they give you to pick from. I have other bee loving plants?

Q70%

The save the bees campaign is great.Bees are gr8 and bees are cool

Q70%
by Q####:

Much better last year when it wasn't just a 'snapshot' for one month (and a poorly timed one given the weather). Add to that I then received a long winded call trying to get me to donate £10 a month and I'm not impressed.

J70%
by J####:

Just see about this app on the news, downloaded it, for it to say, see you next year!

M70%

As someone who keeps bees pressing the add 1 button 20,000 odd times is a bit frustrating. :-P

Just downloaded it and ... times ran out why can't it be all yr :^(

This version doesn't seem to work this year, it was fine last summer. Was it a one-off?

Q70%
by Q####:

Downloaded and re-installed twice. Still doesn't work...

G70%

A good idea, but aftet selecting the bee I had seen, I was disappointed to fnd I have to register to continue. I thought I could help with counting bees without having to register. Sorry, but I don't see why we need to....why???

Q70%
by Q####:

I've enjoyed using this app this summer despite the crashes after each use. A few things I'd like to see next year are; a better breakdown of numbers and type of bees I've recorded each day/week/month, and a bigger selection of bees to choose from.
