Was ok until I tried to share cards. Faulty link so no one could open them. I'm a trucker so I was hoping to share some of the cool places and landmarks I pass with my friends and family. Very disappointed that I can't. Still cool and interesting cards, but overall does not do what I wanted it for.

I remember the launch of this app and tie-ins from travel/history/culinary magazines and sites; selectable sources. I haven't travelled in a while but thought I'd load it and see what was new: a lot less and what is there seems redundant. This feels more like Ad instead of the great tool for exploring the world that I remember. (Seriously, no "Food, Drinks, and Fun" within 100+ miles?)

Q70%
by Q####:

I work in San Franciscos Castro district at a well known and established bar, but when looking up the Castro only one bar shows up? Obviously we and every other bar in the neighborhood failed to pay to be a part of this app...this is more like an add filled tourist guide like the ones you get when you checked into a hotel room!

R70%
by R####:

Lost a star immediately for the inability to zoom in on pictures. Possible more star reductions as I explore the app? Edit: After deleting the app for a year, I decided to give it another chance. Notifications are off, yet I got a pop-up ad about a local hotel. Down to 2 stars now. Deleting it again if I get another. Edit again: Deleted!

First, there is a glitch on the map so that it does not allow me to move the view any direction but up. Second, there is no zoom function on the map. Third, it provided nothing for the entire metro area I live in. An area of over one million and no history, cool stuff....nothing. If this app is only functional for certain areas it needs to say so in the description. Deleted within 10 minutes of installing.

There are numerous historical sites and fun places to visit in my town, yet this app only has two across the entire county. It missing a crap ton of things that would be "field trip" worthy and there is no way to add them to this app for people to find. So it's pretty worthless.

F70%
by F####:

I'm confused. Maybe too critical, but what exactly did I just download? It's a clunky, useless clone of Google maps. You can literally barely move the map and the pull out menu doesn't work whatsoever. You guys nailed the concept, but the execution was a bit sloppy. At least on my end.

by R####:

turned off all notifications. wanted to check areas manually when I felt the desire. even though the settings notification boxes are unchecked, I still get them every so often. I don't like this app running in the background when I'm not in the need of it. Uninstalling cause of the Phantom notifications.

P70%
by P####:

I like the idea, but FT doesn't have enough sources to show anything in places I'm interested. I'm going for holidays and in the very famous city I can see only one shop with clothing and one quick info about a church, where I know there’s much more. Why not allow locals to add places for visitors? Generally it's useless in Europe.

D70%
by D####:

I'm in Malaysia but the app kept notifying places in Singapore. As if there are no hidden interesting places in my country. Uninstall immediately!

R70%
by R####:

Not sure why this app never took off in the travel space, but it's great for seeing what's around you, esp. historic & cultural stuff. Since it pulls from historical marker databases, you'll learn all sorts of things.

E70%
by E####:

This all used to work great. It no longer sees any google account so I can't use the app's functionality.

R70%
by R####:

...but dude give me an option to only allow the app to use the cell/network (coarse) location method when running instead of also grabbing location from GPS. I don't want to lose 1% per minute battery drain when I view the app. Development is dead!!!

L70%
by L####:

I love this app, i am always curious about the history of things around me. I have learned things about the area that i grew up in that i never knew existed! Thank you!

J70%
by J####:

So sad the text to speech button was removed. It's basically useless for sight seeing on the go.

R70%
by R####:

Doesn't even show you known attractions in the area. Random weird stuff pops up. You're better off just using Google maps. Uninstalling

T70%
by T####:

Apparently there's a national park a block South of csu. Inaccurate locations for points of interest and zooming means recashing everything on screen

R70%
by R####:

Not working. There is no zoom, not able to select anything, I'm only able to do zoom in by double tapping but no zoom out. Worst app ever.

Sunset magazine!? Tested in my own city, saw a lot of advertising for a couple restaurants and some other crap but zero about anything actually interesting.

We have a bus, not just any bus. A bus with wi-fi, bathroom, air conditioning and tvs! We got to bring an electronic! This app just makes it better.

R70%
by R####:

I am going to be moving to Hervey Bay soon, and I checked the area I am moving to, however there is apparently only one thing to do in the area, and that is whale watching. Surely there must be more than just that, as the area is a major tourist destination which I agree is famous for whale watching, however it is also the gateway to Fraser Island and the southernmost point of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, which is renowned across the world as a major tourist attraction.

Love the layout. Gives me a notification when I'm near something cool close by. this app is perfect for a big city

I70%
by I####:

Could be a useful app but my first impressions were not great. Out of the first half dozen locations I tried two were inaccurate, one was a mile out and the next by over 20! It's only going to be of use if we can trust that the information is correct.

P70%
by P####:

Wont work..wont load...keeps going back to the first page ...i can't even see what this app is about...I'll give it a day or 2 if nothing. I'm deleting it

R70%
by R####:

Though I am not sure many people would use it due to existence of many other similar apps.

R70%
by R####:

I live in a big city and was a little overwhelmed with so much information. It would help if it could stop the repeats. Also, I think it's important to add the ability to zoom in on those very small photos and increase the size of the font a little. I really enjoyed the app. It's a wonderful learning tool. Unfortunately, I just don't have the time.

I have to agree with Melissa Jensen on this. It's a great idea, but not fully organized yet. There are plenty of locations not mentioned, and there are plenty of junk locations that are there instead. Also, they've partnered with a number of different web sites to bring this information to their app. Great. Why can't I pick one of the partners and only view theirs? For example one partner is Food Network. Why can't I view only Food Network's cards? Also, if I'm on blue tooth, I shouldn't have to tap read aloud. If I have a blue tooth it should automatically read it. According to the help page, it says I have to tap it. No. I'm really a bit disappointing. It has potential, but needs to move forward with better options and locations.

P70%

I have added this app to my important travel resources like google maps and foursquare. Generally has relevant and detailed information in many of the cities I've visited.

R70%

Google wants it all! I don't want Google to know my location, I can't believe anyone else would. Uninstalling.

What a great idea! I am learning any tons of new things about my city. I don't live in my hometown (or state) so this gives me the interesting back story I was missing and makes it feel like home. One thing I am not sure how to prevent is tips I've already read being suggested.

An app for those view the world as a book with each country as a chapter, each city as page and each event as protagonists. As an Ingress player I must say the notifications are inspiring. As a glass explorer it gives me instant heads up info.

Design is really nice, but no content and the watch app is not working at all

History at my fingertips at any location that I find myself in. The Boston area is rich with historic events and places so this might not be as useful in more remote areas of our country, but in Massachusetts it's a great surprise knowing something extra about the locations that I pass by every day!

R70%
by R####:

This app takes me back years, to my youth. The sights and history are fantastic. Places I never knew, and things about Places I did know, I thought. It's great

Many of the articles in my area have the wrong location. I can report a problem and say that the location is wrong, but it doesn't have an option for me to report the correct location.

T70%
by T####:

It's using a lot of different feeds for info, but doesn't allow you to disable any of them. For my use case, I'm only ingested in the obscura and this app is full of pointers to typical tourist traps.
