Nextcloud Talk for Android
Great start towards real-time communication abilities in NC. Like others have mentioned, I would like to text and group-text my contacts from the Android app. Video calls works alright through the app, but the interface buttons are sometimes misaligned on my very high dp screen scaling (514dp).
This is a great development! I am really impressed that it is possible to having my own video/call server - hosted by myself. For me NextCloud is all about the freedom and some kind of DIY hosting - my data on my servers. I guess the developer team started with the most complicated tasks what are the voice and video - and they work perfectly! What I would love to have is a simple chat and file sending functionality. Also it would be nice if the app could ring like a phone call and beep if any message arrives. Anyway guys - keep going - you are awesome. (I would also be happy to support the development if any version where I can donate some beer or coffee to the devs)
I noticed the iOS version already has public invites to calls. Once added I think this app will be fantastic. Thanks again for making Nextcloud great!
Great start but desperately need to integrate chat only features with notifications. Integration with BlackBerry Hub would be good too.
is fine, but if needs a way to include public invites, and to enter/see the chat channel. Still, it's getting there, very excited.
Nice
On-premise, just better than Skype.
The app looks great. Is chat currently activated or just calling?
Great project that provides a high quality storage and communications platform and respects our freedom.
Id like to see nextcloud publish more mobile apps for their web apps.
Great app, it would be awesome if it was integrated within the file syncing app have everything in one place.

The app is a huge first step. I would like to eventually transition to using this over both Zoom and Slack. One of the main drawbacks of this app is that when you're sharing screens on the computer users who are joined in by mobile (Android) do not see you sharing your screen. The other thing is that it needs a text chat. The development on the desktop version was a huge step forward, i hope that the app comes along to be a Slack killer.
