Uncovr for Android
The app doesn't close and it should be more interactive. The video should also keep going removing the magazine from the camera
Simple but enjoyable AR
So? It's neither virtual reality nor augmented reality. Point the phone at the page and all you get is a video on endless loop. No interaction. Point slightly off the page and it disappears. Qualcomm actually paid for that baseball stadium ad? It's just an endless loop of loud cheering. That's it? A really good reason never to use this kind of app. The app is buggy. Can't exit. It froze my Samsung Note 4 and then crashed the phone. Make it interactive. And not just when it points at the page. Blippr lets you play a Starwars shooting game (shoot enemy which fly around you). Why not be able to point at the cover and then raise the phone AWAY from the cover and see a table of contents of the magazine? Or the authors standing in front of you, talking about their stories? Or show musicians or ballet dancers on your coffee table? So much more could be done.
I already have a very satisfactory way of interacting with each issue of the New Yorker. Namely, I read the words in the articles and look at the cartoons and glance at the advertisements, and the neurons in my brain react accordingly. I don't need to see animations.
on my Samsung S2 pad. What's the point, other than cute proof of possibility? Suggest a small QR digital label in cover corner would suffice.
Love the app and it's application. I'd give it five stars if there was a simple way to exit the app, but you have to turn the screen off and on to get a home button.
Truly creative, would love to see more.
Neat!
Great radical innovation
Awesome
Fun. But it took me over a minute to close it on my Nexus 5x. It simply refused to respond to the usual taps to show the "home" icon. I think I finally got out by swiping upward, not sure. But then I immediately uninstalled it. Fun, but not fun enough to put up with the frustration.
Wow, that was really pointless.
Inane music and animation that adds nothing to the reading of the magazine. A waste of time and of space.

This app is amazing. I pointed it at a magazine and a vicious shark flew out. I think the shark bit me. Unbelievable.
