NewsON - Watch Local TV News

Android: annoying notifications with no source or info after clicking. Good live news stream. Roku: constant ads, channels seldom load and when they do... more ads. Overall it's a promising app but very annoying at present. Thanks for the effort so far. Looking forward to future improvements.

Horrible on ROKU TV. Usually get the "ugh sorry something went wrong error" but if it does finally decide to load, the audio is so out of sync with the video it's pointless to watch. The menu doesn't want to come up anymore either so I can't even search for another channel.

Not bad...but could be better. Instructions would help ALOT! More real time access would be great too...other than that it's pretty good for local news during 'news time' ie, 4am to 8am, 5pm, and 11pm. Also the lack of commercials is a plus!

The app offers some local television news live and some pre-recorded. It has next to no instructions, so you will do better with it if you like pushing buttons and failing as a learning method. It doesn't have a lot of stations so you will be in luck if your local happens to be on it. Notices are very clunky and do not seem to be stored in the app anywhere so if you do not catch it fast enough from the flash screen you will never know what they thought was important enough to pester you about. For what it is, it is o.k. if they'd make a few changes, it would be five star.

I initially downloaded it for ABC Channel 7 Los Angeles news, (which it streams flawlessly on my Nextbook Ares tablet) but I also like it for breaking news stories from all over the U.S. Keep up the good work!

15 minutes of commercials is rediculous. So, 15 days of a low review, then we'll see where we are at. Very nice one. The only thing I wish is that more of the stations would allow their past newscast. So if I miss a newscast and I want to pull it up, I would hope that there would be the availability to see a list of delayed newscast. Otherwise it's a great app and it's really nice, especially living in Iowa, I get to see my hometown news KOMO Seattle.

I love watching my local news, but I'm not sure it's worth keeping this app, as I don't like all the notifications that are from who knows where. It would be so much better if the notifications were only for the stations that I have chosen.

Wow! Thank you for developing this app, and kudos to participating stations! Not only can I catch the news anytime, anywhere, but I can easily check out what's happening at each location of all my family across the country! WOW!

It's very difficult to exit out of the NewsOn app without having to press the home button. If your home button is a virtual one, good luck getting the button to appear on screen while the app is running. Also note the only viewing mode is landscape.

This app is the absolute worst app I have ever downloaded,it does not work most of the time. Every other app on my TV or hand held device work's perfectly but this app is always hanging up or just plain will not wrk,. I think they have to do a major repairs on this one. Robert

I would like to have the comercials so its not just dead space between news casts. I know that sounds weird. But play something while on breaks.

Horrible task to navigate after picking favorite station. Where are older newscasts and clips? Better to go directly to station site or app until this great concept, fiasco interface, is totally revamped.

This app immediately crashes as soon as it's opened. It happens on both of my devices. Such a shame. This used to be a great app but has gone sharply downhill in the last year. It is unusable now.

I love being able to watch my local stations but I don't need constant notifications from a station on the other side of the country. Please let me turn off notifications. They're BROKEN.

It's nice to be able to get the local news on my phone. But the app is a little flaky, skipping ahead doesn't always work. Stome times it just drops.

I have been looking for an app to have it all in one and this one has it. No ads. It is a little difficult at first to communicate with but it's worth it!

App fails to load, useless now. Worked great several weeks ago, but hasnt loaded for several weeks

I've been using this for about 6 months, but takes forever for my stations to start. I'm right now trying to watch live news, 10 minutes in and I still don't have anything except the logo. This happens every time.

I love this app! I can now see the news in the morning while I'm getting ready for work. There are only 2 news stations available to watch in Phoenix, but its nice that I can also look up stations from other cities. It did take some playing around in the app to figure out how to use the settings. The only downside is that the channel I watch gets cut-off an hour before the news program actually ends. Instead the video starts playing the previous night's news.

My only complaint is if I could get at least two more channels in my local area this app would be an absolute 5 star for me.

I like this station on my roku but on my phone it constantly notifies me of crap I don't care about. There is no option to turn off the notifications either. It seems like an oversight by the developer and really turns this into an annoying application instead of a useful way to stream your selected news station. It's a true disappointment.

The concept of the app is great, but there's a major problem: there doesn't appear to be a way to control the notifications you receive. For instance, I seem to be getting a lot of them from Detroit stations, but I have no interest in Detroit news. How do I specify what stations I get notifications from?

The live stream keeps getting uninterrupted and stops. Very annoying!

..would like a station from PuertoRico in English if its available,also would like News Channel 9 WSYR from Syracuse NY & KTLA from California added if possible ..GREAT APP THO GUYS

Is there any way to turn off the alerts on this thing? I don't want them and if I can't turn them off I'm going to just uninstall the app.

Buggy. Often, in the middle of the newscast or after a commercial, it will jump back to the beginning and start over. Better than nothing. Convenient if you miss it live on tv or aren't near a tv.

something happened to this app it used. to be great but now it won't allow you watch what's going on around the nation unless its live

App no longer opens at all. Gives error message that it keeps stopping and then closes. Using most current version.

We do not have a thing it works on ,i.e. tabs,ruko,phones,and we have 20,things and ,5laptops to we wood like use it but it keeps looking for it ,IF you fix it we might pay for it!!!,,?we love it ween it works!!! buffering All the time to

It was good until they added adds. Now its just frustrating.

The app could be a lot better especially if it had instructions and if you could get rid of the stupid share button in the middle of the screen otherwise it's okay Samsung galaxy s6

Wish you guys would fix what is going on with the Roku, everything was great for a long time but now it loads slow and stops all the time. Works fine on the computer but SUCKS on Roku. Please fix!!!!!

It never stays streaming, always losing signal & returns to my Chromecast home page! This occurs atLEAST twice EVERY time I use it. Unfortunately, it's the ONLY app for local news plus I have no choice in which local news channel I want to watch. NewsON only offers 1 local news channel for my area. Better than nothing, I guess...but please get with it, NewsON!

I think this app is fantastic I live in Baltimore Maryland and my daughter lives in Connecticut so I can take and watch what the weather is there so I can keep in touch with her if I feel that things may not be safe for her to go out such as today with the blizzard hitting Connecticut on February 9th 2017

The inability to turn off notifications causes it to have a low rating. The rest of the app is great!

Wonderful app! I love watching the news when I can especially locally and now I can always watch it live or watch replays of it!! I can also watch the news where my other relatives are in different states so I can see what's happening around them. The streaming is decent and the pic quality is excellent in high or HD. If you are a news fan this is an absolute must have!

The problem with this app is , it keeps repeating the news over and over . And it's not up-to-date with the news . And it's pre-recorded , otherwise the app would be Great if they fixed all the above issues . Thank you !

It used to work so well, now it is messed up both on Android and Roku boxes! Live stream especially...nothing ever works now. Test this before you put it out. Always missing important stories because of that stupid "ugh, sorry", error. Well, ugh does not cut it. Fix it! This is the ONLY app on roku that never connects since your latest update! Reboot doesn't work, reinstall doesn't work. 》》TURN OFF THE JACKASS ☆[[[FORCED]]]☆ NOTIFICATIONS! ----OFF!!! Worse intrusive app EVER.
