RSS Reader for Android
Also you can:
- add widget with rss feeds on home screen;
- set notification on rss feed update;
- add news to favorites;
- share news with friends.
Updates RSS feeds and displays them no problem but there are no real options to sort/search. It has the ability to store the feeds forever and has the ability to backup your feeds but not the feed contents. Also annoyed I have to click back twice to exit an article and have to confirm to exit. These 3 issues mean there are better apps available.
Well done user interface. No functional bugs that I have encountered. Just don't ignore and leave unread any new posts. Doing so for me seems to drain my HD Maxx battery by about a percent a minute! I leave my phone on vibrate for movies, and have had a dead battery if I had a new post to read near the start of the movie.
I added a couple of blogs to it the day I downloaded it and since then it hasn't updated any feeds even though those bloggers have added several new posts since then. Checked my settings, and even had my computer geek hubby take a look. After messing with it for awhile to get it to update, his recommendation was to uninstall and get a different app.
I have problems with memory use on this phone and was looking to remove stuff to maker space, im very surprised to see this is only 300kb.
• This RSS reader will import and export your feeds in opml format. That allows you to write your own code for feeds based off of xml. • There are no cloud-based accounts to log into, which means you are not prone to having a large corporation pull the plug on this. • It is almost as easy to use as Google Reader, however it doesn't categorize your feeds.
Simple and fast. There are many apps with more animations and more "complex" functions, but these new actions cause that the final app is slow and you need to move across many menus. This app don't have that problem, install it.
It's everything I need... compact, simple & fast. My only complaint is that it drains my note battery quickly. It doesn't seem like this should be the case with such a simple app. Is there anyway to fix this?
Though it lack suggestions and a way to configure the app to use the extra sd card instead of internal memory to save the cache, for my phone that's a key feature as it doesn't have much internal memory and the main SD points to that memory too
You can use this app to get the headlines but not much else. I get that RSS readers are meant to take the place of visiting sites for full strories, but this one gives you only a line or two of info followed by an entire page of wasted space. I'm uninstalling it because I need a little more info in my feeds.
Straight and fast. Most of all it DOES NOT require an account. Just paste the feed address and let it do its job. Update: Unfortunately, it's not 100% compatible with all feeds. Produces errors. I had to uninstall it unfortunately! :(
Its working well and without major issues.Just a feed that works well in other apps (Brief in pc firefox) give me error here. I'm missing a tab to see just the unread feeds with the number of unread entries on each, no all entries or all feeds. But in general it works well and I'll recommend it.
I was getting very annoyed that google-based readers kept wanting more and more info from my phone and accounts. ET TU, Feedly!! So i'm really pleased that this app doesn't require any account info at all! Yay!!!!!
Only downloads a small handful of the items from the subscribed feed each day. Ignores over half of them, seemingly at random. If I visit the rss page myself, I can see the items are definitely being posted there.
Tried this a fee times now and when I add a feed it just says there are no entries. The feeds I've tried were copied and pasted from another RSS app where it does work - refreshing makes no difference.
Although it's somethimes nice to hace a basic app, this one is a bit over the top (or under the bottom if you will). Searching for feeds works only if you type the whole URL adress which often means you sshould find such a link in a different place (app), and there is no classification of fweeeds in groups (news, hi tech, cars, sports, whatever...). Additionaly, the app allways asks for a rating uppn exit, which is poor manners in my book. The plus side is the dark background and lifhtweight UI.
Good program overall, but also super obnoxious. The ads flash and strobe about half the time, making it impossible to read at night, and when you try to exit the prompt has only two buttons "No, don't leave" and "Rate me on Google Play", locking you into the app with no normal means of escape. Here's your rating, devs, enjoy.
Small , fast, and opens links with associated programs instead of internally (all things I found irritating with feedly). The only feature I'm missing is "search", which I need infrequently enough to get by without.
I use this daily but adding a feed is very difficult because the edit box is tiny plus i really don't like being asked to rate the app every time i want to exit
Awkward interface w/o much customization. Few options for UI. No download & store option. Stops when any other app opens
Some feeds straight up don't work with this app. It has way too many settings. Refreshing does not pull latest content.
Closely cropped photos of women to appear nude, scare ads alerting of viruses and full storage; while the ads were largely out of the way, you seriously need to evaluate your choice in advertisers.
Notifications the moment it's posted. Most other apps don't achieve this. If you need things as soon as they're up, this is the RSS app for you. Would like to be able to save images from the feed. But that's supplementary.
Unfortunately have had to uninstall as the screen constantly flickered while displaying any post. Have substituted Feedly, which does not show samr problem.
I had the widget on my home screen, but one day it suddenly disappeared and I can't find it at the place where widgets from all apps are shown. Other than that, I'd like it if you can increase the maximum size of the widget to the size of the screen. Thanks.
I've been using this for get updates
Sick of ads which are inappropriate. Trying to read and get bombarded by insinuated pornography. Tried to tag ads as inappropriate, but to no avail. Ads = no problem. Inappropriate ads = big problem.
Rip off of the sparse RSS app with ads thrown in and god knows what else. Get that app, its ad free and open source.
An option lacking from all Android readers, it seems. Pity, it's a straightforward thing to be able to do. Sure, it should be on the feed publisher to categorise, but this isn't always the case, and a client-side workaround is highly appreciated!
If you try to quit the app, it asks "Are you sure" with 2 possible answers: "No" or "Rate me". No way to close the app except by killing the task...
UI could use some work such as material design or at least a few extra colours.
I was looking for a super clean app to help follow all my favorite blogs and this one is perfect. No glitches, no annoying notifications (just a line on my notification tab), easy to use, no frills or obnoxious graphics. Its perfect!
It looks like simple android app with table entry but it works without any problem so far
It's like news delivery except you use it to keep track of all the blogs you like that the news doesn't care about.
Allows feed import/export for use on multiple devices. Allows for easy sharing to social networks, blogs, and more.
App is good but every time I try to close the app, asks me to rate!
White text on black background is a horrible design choice always. At least you can change it. Kind of barebones, but it does what I need it to do.
Advertisements in the app are too distracting. They constantly blink at you. Horrible. I also get highly annoyed at apps that constantly request you to rate them until you finally do it, so here you go. Your rating. One star. At least you don't insist I sign in to some social network.
Puts a linked list of 5 or 6 top story headlines on my phone's home screen. Unfortunately the links stop opening every day or 2, so the widget has to be removed and replaced (not un/reinstalled). Nearly perfect for my needs, I hope this small bug can be fixed. UPDATE: The dead link problem hasn't recurred but over time it becomes very slow to update, even when cache is cleared. I don't want to delete data & lose my feed addresses. RSS is still the best way to get news, and this app does the job pretty well.
Ads are obe of the great travesties of our time. Get rid of that crap or let us pay a few bucks to get rid of it

This app is almost exactly the type of RSS feed reader I was looking for. I say "almost" because I don't like the way the entries are laid out. The heading is not visible to read entirely unless you wait for it to scroll across the top of the screen, and there is not enough information displayed when reading through entries, such as the number of unread articles. Very simple and light for everything else though.
