Falling is a common cause of injury to the elderly, which can cause disability or even death. Statistics say that in the United States, for example, one in three suffers from a fall injury, at least once a year. Research also reported that half of the elderly cannot rise after falling and remain lying on the ground. Here comes one of the characteristics of the application we developed, when the old person falls, an alert will be sent to the caregiver's phone by SMS, which accelerates the intervention and avoids the complications of the fall.
The app sends alerts to a phone number whenever:
- The elderly person leave the safe area, which is the area where the elderly person can safely be, and can return home alone (configured in elderly person’s device).
- The battery level is less than 10 percent.
- Drive or take a Taxi.
- Exposure to falling, inside or outside the house.
The caregiver can also inquire about the old person's phone localization at any time by sending an SMS containing the word "req1", enabling his family to be reassured. These characteristics make the application a very important mean of making patient care easier for the caregiver and for the family.
The application supports both Arabic and English, depending on your choice and also on the phone default language.
