Imo new in chess is the best chess magazine in the world so I was very excited to learn I can read it on my android device. Sadly I had to discover it is full of annoying issues that are unacceptable in a product you charge money for. 1. Scrolling is extremely slow in the text of the analysis 2. On multiple lines you can't select which one to play on the board (unless you tap on it in the text, which is very tedious) 3. Rigid screen, no way to resize or customise game viewer. 4. It occasionally crashes

How hard to make it work on a pc? Even kindle does that now. I like big screen. Love the content!

It's not bad but it needs work. I like the idea of the game viewer, switching between reading and games and in-app purchasing of magazines. The game viewer is terrible though. The text scrolling is broken, the interface clunky, and navigation lacking features. Instead, why not provide a pgn when tapping on games, since there are many good pgn apps for android.

No possibility to flip board. Scrolling sometimes doesnt work. No settings for font size. I am an APP developer myself and i dont even know where to start :( really love the magazine, but the app is far below standard!

Analysis board doesn't fit on screen and is completely unusable on my Samsung Galaxy s5

Advert said free sample if I install the app. Then I installed the app, but found no free sample. The app wanted me to "sign up" and give NIC my email address. Maybe that would resulted in a free sample, but nothing said so up front. So I uninstalled app. BUT the NIC format looks fantastic, better than other ebook formats that cannot do columns or tables. ChessBase is what some ebooks use as authoring tool, which is powerful but also limiting.

Great way to keep updated on whats happening in the chess world. Easy to view/study the games and variations. Very well done. I currently have 2 issues on my app - #8/2013 and #5/2014. There was an issue with the screen width in the #8/2013 issue which cuts off the h-file on all the boards (very annoying) but I cant reproduce it in the #5/2014 issue so maybe it got fixed. I see others mentioning it too, but I don't know what issue they are viewing. Anyway, if that problem has been fixed for good then its a 5 star app.

Great way to read an excellent magazine. Issue with the game-playback window partially offscreen is resolved. Would love to see a last-move arrow, and some more material available.

latest magazines show up as unavailable for purchase. not even a free glimpse into the magazines, as a teaser/ trial/ demo.

Needs work with the game screen. Shouldn't have been released until that was sorted

Great way to read an excellent magazine. I'm having the same issue with the game playback window being a little too wide, but I'm still giving 5 stars, trusting it will be fixed shortly.

Now the width is a little too wide for my tablet.... If the complete H column on the right shows, the first letter of the comments are missing on the left... Not sure if others are experiencing this... but I hope a future update allow for more adjustment of the size...

I had seen the iPad version and was expecting a similar experience, but this is just poor. Download and Install takes ages, even on my fast WiFi. UI is clumsy and does not feel native. Buttons take some effort and at times do not respond. Turning the page feels as if the page is being downloaded again from the internet and is slow/blurry at first (then what was the 100mb download in the first place?) And the app/service keeps running in the background even after exiting. Pls take Android seriously.
