Can't connect with wifi

Am able to connect and control with nexus 6 directly to the unit. Once wall unit is connected to my home WiFi can no longer control thru the app. Wall unit shows up in the app but doesn't have any control of function. Big disappointment.

The Android app portion of this product is crazy bad, but I respect that the features are at least there enough to work in the most basic sense. Toggling a plug on/off works reliably and that's all that really matters to a lot of use cases. The hourly/daily timer settings are tricky to figure out at first but it works. I have two of the plugs and one of them insists it needs a firmware update but fails to ever update. The app works 'on the cloud' too, not just local wifi like some apps, so I've got to give it that. Overall the Android app sucks in terms of UI and reliability, but it does work. The latest version 6.0 keeps my GPS on all the time, and I'm not even sure which feature would need to use the GPS. Luckily permissions on Android Marshmallow are granular, so I just disabled the "Location" permission and I'm good to go.

Works half of the times. Have to switch it 2 or 3 times to turn on the light I've connected. Remote control over the phone network doesn't work.

I will not ever recommend this wifi plug. too hard to figure out. I have done everything to pair this plug in my network but it keeps on saying I'm successfully joined in my network but it's not connected at all. WORTHLESS PIECE OF CRAP... I can't return it to amazon because I would have to pay the shipping cost which is almost half of what I paid. The most expensive normal plug ever.

This app just keep freaking out on me and wouldn't even let me do try to sync it to the plug. Just keep reloading the page every time I tried to do anything. I am sending the product back and deleted the app.

After finding a comment left on Kickstarter by one of the developers, I was able to get it working. You need to connect to the unit in your WiFi settings on your phone, then open the app and connect your unit to your WiFi. Then go back out and connect your phone back to your normal WiFi settings, then go back to the app to control the unit. It's definitely not as simple as "plug it in and control it" like they try to make it sound. I'm kind of scared though after reading comments about meltdowns.
