AlReader -any text book reader

Been looking for an app like this for ages. Does everything I want except I cannot get it to find the dictionary? Checked on website but seems all in Russian. Spent most of the day on this and cannot find a solution even on Google. Bit of a pain having to hop out of the app to do a lookup. A tutorial would help with some of setup functions. Else all good.

So far I'm still reading the first book. I'm a slow reader. But in downloading books, and checking them for readability, they're all good. The acrobat reader's books require zooming in too far to be legible. This app, and books are way better. Kindle off market books (from out of copyright sources) are poorly done, and have lost their reading integrity. Really frustrating. This app maintains book integrity from same out of copyright source.

I tried maybe 100 text-2-voice readers b4 finding this one. IT IS TOTALLY CUSTOMIZABLE and will read nonstop, if you want. Since it cannot read pdf you need a converter like Word or Smart PDF Creator Pro. it will transform how you proof your writing, if you hear it aloud. Ask any q's of me in Twitter, @brainouty cuz I fell in love with this program.

The app keeps going dark while reading or having it read to me. I have tried everything within the options and nothing changes. I can't believe I actually paid for this app. And good luck with getting any support for it. They never answer their emails when you contact them for help.

I'm having a job with it at the moment. I've spent an hour with it and every time I go off the intro the screen goes very dim. To dim to be practical. Even although it says that every function can be controlled through the "options" menu, I just can't find one for screen brightness. I need a simple reader that can tell the difference between e-books and every darned text document that ever gets downloaded onto my phone! Can this one do that or not? I don't have time to flick endlessly through hundreds of invoices and texts looking for a book.

I like I can read books directly of my SD card, most reader apps won't do that. Only complaint is I can only find one serif font, even the one called serif is sans serif!

Samsung Galaxy S7 - HELP: The files opened from File Manager are empty! But if I open them from within AlReader, they work... PLEASE fix this bug!

Does what you want, feature rich. I have a small problem, when trying to open book from calibre go (library in dropbox) it gives error when loading the file. If I open the book directly from dropbox, it loads it. Possibly not a problem of this app, I don't know what to do...

The app not only constantly drops my epub files from the app, it deletes them from my directory as well. That's an enormous pain in the butt.

Like having a book read to me while I knit. A little less robotic sounding would be nice. Also needs to be able to read contractions and titles like Mr. Dr. Otherwise really useful

This app adds hideous formatting to books. For example a plain header tag resulted in green-outlined text.

Probably a good reader (if you don't need editing or search ability), I'll have to try more formats than txt. But the editing capability is poor-- it can't save anything to the ext. SD card. And not very user friendly. You have to copy/paste codes every time you just want a CR at the end of the line. It only allows editing a small part of the file at a time, so you have to save, scroll the file, go back to edit mode, repeat. The search function is unreliable. When entering an exact string you're looking for, a large portion of the time it fails to find it, and you have to search manually instead.

amazing app by far the best ebook reader with so many options..only limitation is non pdf reader but a simple conversion with another app fixes that issue. it imports almost every txt file u want so cant complain, wish it had more voices..id pay for that but quite frankly its amazing with so many options i dont think ill ever need another similar app

Great reader. Doesn't crash. Need a a little time to get used to opening and searching for a book...but I've enjoyed using it these past months.

This is an elegant solution that I didn't even know I had a problem for! I am just learning my way around but I expect reading will be even more of a pleasure than I ever expected, when I am out and about.

It the best reading app. No b****it, it just does everything to make comfortable reading, straight. I have tried different other apps, like fbreader, freader, coolreader, moon reader etc - this one is simply the best

It's amazing to be honest. The only problem I found is I can't get rid of the custom volume controls. I don't want them to turn my pages I want them to adjust the music volume while I read.

A good app only slightly marred by the decidedly antiquated library UI. My choice for ereading even so I would just appreciate each time I delete a book to not be sent to the syart of the library. This gets old very fast.

Pros: Most customizable, very lightweight, fastest, ad-free and most importantly, highly responsive developer. Cons: Couldn't find any. OK, initial setup might take some time as it has too many options!

Love the versatility and different formats it covers. I install it immediately on any new device and once it's done a library search of all available files have a large reading list from various downloaded sites. Good choice of background appearances, and not too heavy on memory

Best reader app Settings are complex and take a long time to figure out and test. However, that customization is what makes this app great. For future updates, the menus and settings could be made much more intuitive.

Jerky text scrolling. Too many ways to turn the page it gets annoying that ends up doing it on its own. Default has an invasive icons taking up page spaces.

Loaded a 480kb .txt book, no option to play or no voice, nothing happening. Click a few options and thought it might be in settings but nothing happened. Uninstalled it. Was hoping to find a text to audio / voice appreciate but failed.

I spent ages trying & failing to find out how to remove the default gap between paragraphs. So went back to Cool Reader.

This is the best app ever. Thank you for your effort and time you gave to make this app. The app is so light, it doesn't need so much space and memory while it still keep retaining all functionalities you want in a reader app. Again, thank you so much for this app. I can read all day every day using this app.

Fantastic. Takes a moment to figure out the interface but then fantastic. Adjusting the brightness for nighttime reading is so good. Couldn't recommend it more..

Почему-то при выходе из приложения стали теряться книги из него. Т.е. вышел, снова зашёл, а приложение пишет, что книга была удалена, хотя её никто не трогал. Заходишь в последние открытые, выбираешь книгу, и она открывается с того же места.

So far so great - it read files I couldn't get to read in anything else. I did add some citations in books but so far I can't seem to find them again. Help?

The reader is great, but the menu interface needs to be more intuitive. Currently, the menu is confusing. Otherwise, the reader works well.

Where in the hell can be automatic brightnes turned off (it is crazy bright and hurts the eyes). The pop up comes and i have accidently turned the brigness to crazy bright and i cannot turn it off :(

Took a little while to get a handle for this app, but overall I like it. Still not entirely sure what some things are in it. A quick start guide might be nice. Also, does anyone know if you can add google drive to the library? Otherwise, it's an overall good app.

Wasted an hour trying to use Google Drive. Polaris Office is OK. AIReader is better.

All other reading apps find my files in the download folder to open and read. With this app I go to the very same folder but only one of the files show up.

This app search files from local directory itself. But manual search should be available. Plz add support for pdf files also. I also using loud Voice but want to keep this app only.

Great app and works really well apart from the split screen mode, which always causes it to freeze. Would love a way to be able to use it on my Amazon purchases.

Best so far. As the developer doesn't push ads and it's a brilliant reader it's well worth a donation!

The app is overall great but 2 tiny things I would like to see added are 1. The option to have a variety of different colours to choose from one time to highlight text as you can only use one at a time and you have to go back and change it. 2. The option to make notes as you read on the page. Thanks

There's no way to disable the volume keys from going back / forward a page. This is extremely annoying as I listen to music while reading.

This is a wonderful application that I have ever use please keep it up its easy to use and its the exactly document reader that I ever wanted to open up every document
