Brainwave Visualizer for Android
Works perfectly, easy to use. Do you smooth out the attention and meditation levels somehow or is there an option in the API? The levels in my app jump around a bit, tho seem to get more consistent over time.
When I'm trying to make the 70+ on meditation meter, it kinda works. But, when I leave it on and start working on something, I do notice that it's easier to put the scale in a meditative state. If it's not working well, try restarting. Focus on something else your doing and forget the meditation meter.
Nice one
That ball and barrell have helped my meditation quality more than anything else. So simple but so effective! Turns out my kids can float that ball higher than I knew it could even go....lol....so, I now have a goal....BE MORE LIKE MY KIDS! Would pay for simple similar games that work as well as the mini games!
I SAT SLAPPING MY ANDROID PHONE TO MY HEAD TO MAKE THE BRAINWAVES POP UP! IT NEVER WORKED! THIS IS A SCAM! A SCAM I SAY! Truthfully, the problem with the Brainwave Visualizer is 3 things: lack of context, a disappointing non-existence of logging or peripheral notifications, and no true tutorial or help feature. (You can find a tutorial called the MindWave Mobile Tutorial also on the store, but the programs often have errors in compatibility). A possible interesting idea, but upon roll-out is just a nuisance P.S. You need an EEG device, i.e. MindWave Mobile headset, for this application to read your brainwaves.
What to do when ur flat lining?
plz help me out to fix my problem!! my mindwave mobile starter kit is not connecting to this application on samsung S3 even after pairing of both devices ??? this application does not show any signal strength.
I like the graphics. But there is lots desired. Like I can not record with my name. I can not view or do any thing .. no controls provided for the user. It looks like it's all a game and no real value. I was interested in trying out music to select best music for specific purpose.. like meditation or study or creativity.. music of my liking for the purpose . But does not have much to offer but fun on screen entertainment .. if it can be made better .. I will give 5 starts .
Good app. But how anoying when the screen turns off while I am trying to relax. Add a wake lock. Only one line of code. This is not the kind of app you want your device to go to sleep on. (Razor max HD and Note 4)
The failure to give you the option to prevent the screen for timing out and shutting itself off severely limits this app's usefulness. For those wondering if it really works, I can see my annoyance register in my brainwaves every time I have to touch the screen when it's about to shut off.
Very poorly made app. Im sure they could have done a much better job. Basically i cannot record anything on my android. You have to have an iphone. Same with pc, to record you need itunes. So w.e i guess.

good
If you hit your head hard enough with the phone, there are nice colors even without the neurosky device! I liked the oscillation visualisations.

Used to work until I upgraded to android version 5. Now it does not work at all.
Fails to open on Android 5.0 Lollipop
Great app to understand the different EEG powers of your brain. Beautiful to look at as well. I use it to train my attention and meditation and the mini games are a great help in doing so. Well done!
What to do when ur flat lining?
Thank you !!

Works flawlessly on my new MindWave Mobile. Very frustrating for the first few hours but I'm slowly getting more and more control :-) I love the soundscape that plays when you hit the relaxation zone. My favourite MindWave app so far.
No instruction on how to use app, just info on what it measures. I'm using the Motorola Droid 4
Love it

First, anyone who picks up the device and app should know that the hardware itself is entirely too finicky for any sort of mobile activity. It might as well be a fancy random number generator. The app itself is a nice, pretty time waster. If that's what you're looking for, this will do perfectly. It's more of a proof of concept application than anything truly useful. The lack of any capability to log data over time for later review is hard felt and immediately obvious. The base metrics themselves require you to have some basic knowledge of the various things tracked by an EEG and the app provides no real description on any of them. The so-called "focus" and "meditation" metrics are not explained and seem counter-intuitive; if the idea is to have the app monitor your attention while performing a task, requiring the user to watch the screen to monitor said metric will take focus away from the chosen task and place it on the app itself. There is a lot of potential here, if the hardware is given a thorough work-over and there's an application with useful data features. Until then, it's pretty. That's about it.
If you can get the hardware to work the application is fine. It doesnt record any of your brainwaves so the only way to get any information is to sit staring at the screen, which is counter productive since you want to see your brainwaves when you're doing other things. If you want to look at it just as a fancy light show, then go ahead as it works great for that, but it never presents you with any actual meaning information on the screen.
App crashes every time on galaxy 5. Returning headset.
If you can't get a signal, try killing all other mindwave apps and starting over. That's what I had to do to get this thing working. Unfortunately the app expects my phone to have a *keyboard* - it mentions keyboard controls in a description, as if it was only halfway ported from a computer version.
This app works perfectly on my Android 2.3 phone but apparently 4.2 is stricter. It'd require BLUETOOTH_ADMIN permission what the app doesn't declare in its manifest file so it can't connect but crashes. Please fix this issue.

Colorful
Apparently some people don't read about the stuff they put on there phone. Some of you... come on guys (or girls), read! Anyway, you need to buy a WaveMind Mobile for this to work. Incase you didn't know.
I was thoroughly excited to purchase the neurosky, and while the tutorial (a different app) indicated that the connection between the neurosky and the phone was good, this app hardly registers a blip. With no help menu, I am at a loss and extremely disappointed.

Really good as an introduction to illustrate the concept of brainwave technology in action but it has the potential to be soooo much more than this. Games demonstrate the ability to either focus on sparks from a barrel using in beta-type thinking, or on alpha-type calmness with a floating ball. Both work well, but it's a real pity the buttons and text aren't larger and spaced wider apart so that it's functional on a cellphone. Nevertheless, I recommend this for beginners learning to use mindwave technology.
