Worked brilliantly until Android 4.3 on my Nexus 7. Now it just goes crazy. Note that is not the only compass for which this is true. Too good to lose for long, do please update for 4.3 soon.

This is for You if you want No ads, understandable in less than 10 minutes (I'm not an Engineer) appealing interface, Indicators are marked N & S, no annoying flickering btw modes and loads instantly each time you tap it. I tried smart compass prior to Steady and it was a disaster. Only suggestion I have is rather the triangular East marker it would be more pronounced if Marked with an E, for people like me ;)

Very nicely done. I have this as Emergency way finder. Have to rip my magnetic cover off to use it for that. But that is expected.. No compass will work next to a magnetic phone case. LOL

Other compasses are all wonky. This one works like a charm on my Motorola XYBoard.

Actually points to the north most of the time but can also be horibly wrong. Do not trust this app when lost and searching your way back home

Worked well when first installed but started pointing wrongly after a few uses. Uninstalled. Samsung Galaxy Grand.

Why do you now require location and WiFi permissions? Should not even need location, if purely a magnetic compass. Originally never did. Harvesting data or building mapping without disclosing?

Nahhh you said in the chat forum that the steady compass will give you gyroscope. For the game pokemon go when it goes to the camera you cant see the pokemon so it says turn augmented reality off which is the gyroscopes job and then its just on the screen of the phone then and not using the camera to see the pokemon. So tbh i would give you no stars if i could. You sed that you app would lfix the problem and it didnt

The compass is great, but I don't understand the Car Finder. It tells me my car is 37.5 miles away. Both my current location and my cars location are incorrect. The location permission is on so that can't be the issue. My phone is paired with 2 vehicles, how does Steady Compass divine a cars location? Also, when I do the "back" to exit the map to my car the app hangs with a steady spinning circle "Loading, please wait..." and I must hit "back" a second time to get to the Compass / Car Finder screen.

This was the best compass all but now it's draining my battery quite a lot after the last updated. Never had a problem before. Lollipop on Moto X Play

A beautiful compass, but why would I want it to automatically run at startup? As such, it is just another resource draining vampire app. So, I will uninstall it for now.

Galaxy Note Edge. Seems to have restricted functionality. No function icons at the bottom of the screen. Degree symbol is corrupted and there is no other capability other than the compass display (Find your car not working). Shame really.

It show direction but you can not turn dial or mark headind, so it do work but is not so useful.

A simple elegant app to use the phone's compass sensor. It's as accurate as your phone let's it be. A great way to make the most of a phone in one more way. Wouldn't rely on a phone compass sensor unless I had to, though. Don't use this on your expedition to Everest.

I have tried several. This one works perfectly. No permissions needed, no calibration. Super easy to use. Great app.

Simple, reliable and fun....... Coming up from the subway in new town a cloudy day it is my goto tool.

VERY steady indicator dial and totally accurate. Simple, small footprint (not a larger than necessary program) & does not require any special permissions.

Works. No Ads. No unnecessary permissions. What else can you ask for a free compass?

I checked North with a regular physical compass first. This app is much like many other compass apps they appear to show north in the wrong direction so if want to get lost download this app.

The most simple and almost perfect compass app. It just misses a compass ring you can rotate. DO NOT believe the wonky review!!! It is just one of those reviews of somebody who lacks knowledge about his phone and blames the app instead of his phone. Ratings of 3 stars or less are ratings about the phone and the owner of the phone.

Nice app. Does what it promises to do. No strange permissions required.

Am I missing something? I like the options . . . But unfortunately, the App won't work

I've never done one of these reviews before, but this is honestly great. I really love the fact that this app in particular doesn't take any special permissions with my phone. It's so refreshing! I really enjoy it.

Doesn't work on my Nexus7 latest Android.
